empty room. There was nothing left but a small desk and her bed. It felt strange to see it this clean and hollow. Her mom came in the room; she was pleased to see that Crystal packed up her things. “I thought you would never pack up!” She exclaimed. “You have 5 suitcases!” she laughed. “Here let me help you with that” Crystal said as her mother was tugging the two heavy suitcases at once. She grinned then said “thank you”. Slowly they took the suitcases one by one downstairs. Her dad’s phone rang, he quickly picked it up. After saying “hello” and “we will be there” he hung up. There outside he said nervously. This was it they were leaving. 4 men came in the living room and started loading the suitcases into the big van. After all the bag and suitcases were in it was time for them to get in the car. Crystal slowly headed out. Her parents were already inside the car. She took a long look at her light blue house. This was going to be hard she thought looking around the neighborhood. Crystal can feel tears streaming down her cheeks. The car honked. Realizing that she was holding everyone up, she wiped her tears and ran inside the van. She continued looking at the house as the van was slowly driving away. Then the van sped up and her house soon disappeared. Crystal turned away from the window and sat back. Her mother who was next to her took her hand and gave an encouraging squeeze. Crystal smiled then looks out the window. It was going to be a long drive, from her house to the airport would take 2-3 hours depending on the traffic. “I wonder if our furniture is already there!” Her mother said excitedly. “Jade, of course it’s going to be there, I mean we ordered them like 3 weeks ago”, her father pointed out as he busily look through is laptop. “Well I hope New York furniture is good” she said. Crystal’s father sighed and rolled eyes. After 45 minutes there was a big traffic jam. Sounds of the horns pounded through Crystal’s eardrums. “Oh make it stop”! I screamed. Crystal’s mother looked very irritable and gave angry looks at the person behind who was honking non stop. Crystal’s dad tried very hard to concentrate on something he was writing. “Jason do something!” Crystal’s mother cried. “I don’t know what to do”! He exclaimed. “Hey stop the honking!” Crystal heard a man screaming. But the people in the cars didn’t give they just wanted to reach their destination. “Try to sleep honey” Her mother spoke softly. Crystal gave her mother an incredulous look, “in the middle of all this?” “Here” she said patting her lap. Crystal laid her head on her mother’s lap and closed her eyes. Surprisingly the world seemed to fade away and slowly she drifted off to another world.
