I was able to understand him when I saw her but that he actually betrayed our love for her, that I could not understand.

I watched them, even when they were together making love. My soul wept, as he lovingly whispered her name. He had always spoken to me that way, but he didn't anymore. My heart ached as if Nicki had pushed a dagger into it and turned it back and forth, again and again.

Bloody tears ran down my cheeks as I made my decision. I spent an entire night alone in a hotel room to let my feelings run free and undisturbed. My phone was silent, Nicki didn't call to see if I'd come home. I closed the blinds, drew the curtains and spent the day at the hotel. The pillow was smudged with blood from my tears when I got up the next evening.

Then came the night we always celebrated together, the date on which he had made me immortal and we planned to share eternity together. Nicki looked so handsome in his gray suit with a black shirt and black tie. I had to swallow when I saw him like this, as he smiled and looked at me with love in his eyes.

Love? It was only the memory of it. Nicki did not love me anymore.

But I smiled back, walked over to him and put my arms around him. I held him, clung to him as if I was drowning, and he returned the hug. I closed my eyes and inhaled his scent, the scent of my beloved creature of the night. His hand tenderly touched my neck and he whispered my name. It was like at the beginning of our love. My heart again spoke to his, I allowed my feelings for him to take over once more and went to seek his lips with mine. They united in a hungry kiss that I didn't want to end. I wanted to remember forever the way it felt, didn't want to let go of him.

Somehow it seemed that he felt the same, because he returned the kiss just as passionately. We tore each other's clothes off and touched us as if we were doing it for the first time. I held every second firmly, closed the memory of it in my heart to carry it with me forever.

Then he whispered so softly and tenderly as he hadn't done for ages: "Julien ... my only true love ..."

I looked at him and regretted everything I would do to him now.

"Forgive me, ma cher ...", I replied in a trembling voice. His turquoise eyes looked at me shocked as I was on him, holding him and bared my fangs. Brutally I hit them into his neck and his hot blood was gushing relentlessly. He did not resist, he let it happen, hoarsely moaning my name again and again.

The taste of love flowed into me, I took every last drop of him, kissed his lips and then bit his flesh again. Nicolas DeMarais lay under me, groaning, his hands moved down my back, caressed me, touched my buttocks then my cock while I feasted on his blood.

He became weaker, his touch faded and he became silent. I raised my head and looked at him. Never had I drunk the blood of a vampire and now it was flowing through my veins, hot like electricity.

I flashed my eyes at him with a cold look, he would pay for what he had done to me. I stood up, his blood dripping from my chin. I wiped it off with my hand. He looked at me so tenderly that I couldn't bear it.

"Julien, what is with you?", he asked weakly. He wanted to sit up, but powerless fell back into the sheets.

"I have a present for you mon Amour, since today is our day", I replied and pulled out a red-colored gift box from under the bed. I opened it. Therein was her head, Rita, who had taken my only love from me. With lipstick I had painted a smile on her dead face.

By the hair I pulled it out of the box and held it in front of Nickis eyes. He whined and moaned, as he recognized her. I threw Ritas head upon the bed where it rolled beside him, her dead eyes staring into nothing.

"A proof of my love for you", I hissed. "The only love I've ever known and which you have betrayed." With these words I just turned around and left the room, got dressed and went out of our apartment. I left everything behind, took a plane and landed a few hours later in Paris.

Aimee

Paris - my hometown. For over a century I haven't been here, everything has changed, but I was really back home. Everywhere I heard people speak in French, it was familiar and yet brand new. Oh, too long I had been away.

I saw the lighted Eiffeltower in the night sky and couldn't believe that I was back here after all this time. I wanted to get to know the new Paris, start all over. But the memories of Nicki were always there. I missed him sorely. On one hand I was wishing he was here with me and I could hear his laughter while we explored the city that had changed so much. On the other hand I wanted never to see him again, for his betrayal had broken my heart.

I was a complete mess and the only way I saw to numb my pain was to drink blood - lots of blood.

First I was looking for a place to stay and found it at the outskirts in an old abandoned building that fortunately possessed a deep cellar. I just needed a good lock to seal the door. Then I went on the search for victims.

I went to a rundown neighborhood with a lot of homeless people there. One by one, I pulled them into a dark backyard and drank. I let nature take its course and I enjoyed it, when my victims cried out in fear and terror and struggled for their lives. This incited me and I was being pretty violent. I held my hand over their mouths if they were too loud, I had them in an iron grip and broke their bones while I drank greedily. It was so good and the more I drank, the more I wanted. I was in outright ecstasy, but even that did not help, his face haunted my mind and I couldn't do a damn thing about it. I wept bitter tears of blood. At the end five bodies were all around me while I held my hands to my face, crying loudly, repeatedly calling his name.

When I finally got a hold on myself again I carried the bodies into a pile and set it on fire.

Then suddenly I heard a scraping noise. I turned in the direction from which it came and saw a girl cowering in the corner. She tried to sneak away, but when she realized I had discovered her, she pressed herself against the wall again. I went up to her and she began to whimper. "Please don't hurt me …" Trembling she sat on a worn-out blanket and looked at me frantically.

She must have seen it all, she knew what I was. As I stood there looking down on her, she turned and held her hands protectively over her head, she was not older than sixteen or seventeen. Her clothes were dirty and she was dirty. Her blonde hair was stringy, there was dirt under her fingernails and her pants had holes. I definitely gave no better sight at the moment, my face smudged with blood, just like my hands and my sweater. I just stood there, unsure what to do with her.

Cautiously she put her hands down when she realized that I didn't hurt her. She raised her head and looked straight into my face. I was shocked when I saw her eyes and took a step back. They were turquoise like Nickis. A surprised moan escaped my throat and I was breathing hard.

She looked at me puzzled and her trembling stopped. Behind me the flames were blazing and spread heat and an unpleasant odor. The girl brushed a strand of blond hair from her face, "Who is Nicki?" Anxious and curious at the same time she looked at me with her eyes, that resembled his so much.

"You have his eyes." I replied weakly.

"Oh ..." She didn't say more.

I went to take a closer look at her. She opened her mouth and wanted to start screaming.

"Don't worry, I won't hurt you." I assured her, grabbed her arm and pulled her to her feet. She was not taller than up to my shoulder and looked slightly thin. "You're coming with me."

"What? No I won't!" she cried and tried to get off me.

"You're coming with me." I said firmly, pulling her along. She was terrified of me and said nothing more. That was a good thing, because I still didn't know what to do with her. We went towards the outskirts, to that abandoned house.

"Are you American?" She asked suddenly, after we had walked for a while in silence, "I mean, because of your accent."

I stopped and looked at her, puzzled. "I really have an accent?" I could hardly believe it.

She nodded.

"Well, I've lived in New York for a long time. Far too long ..." We kept going. "What's your name?"

"Aimee."

"I'm Julien."

She really was only sixteen, as she told me, a runaway from home because her parents were drunkards and her father usually beat the shit out of her. She was jabbering away while we were walking and as we passed by a grocery store, she peered at it longingly.

"You must be hungry." I dug into my pockets and put a bill in her hand. She stared at it wide eyed.

"A hundred Dollar?" she asked incredulously.

I nodded and finally let go of her arm. "Go in, buy what you want. You're human, you need food."

"Well, I hope they change this currency," she murmured and off she went into the store. After twenty minutes, she came back with a packed bag and was chewing on a candy bar. She wanted to give me the change but I shook my head and rejected with a gesture. She looked at me, chewing, then stuffed the change into her pocket. We continued walking and finally arrived at the deserted house.

"You live here?" she asked skeptically and looked around.

"Until I have arranged my finances, then I will buy a new house."

"But actually you won't have to." she said with an anxious expression in her eyes. She would never forget what I was. "What are you going to do with me?"

"I don't know." I answered truthfully. "For now you stay with me, you know what I am. Also, I don't wanna be alone." I hesitated for a moment, "You know, I could take care of you. You no longer have to live in the streets."

"And what if your thirst for the blood comes back? Are you going to slaughter me then just as these poor guys back there?" Uneasily her eyes fell on me again.

I didn't reply, just wondered. She was right. What she'd just seen had to have been horrible. But somehow I liked Aimee, she was
