I titled my head, closing my eyes in absolute peace. “This is so peaceful…”
“Now, you know why I’d chosen this place,” Mom rolled her eyes as she said, pouting at me.
I opened my heavy lidded eyes partially and snorted. “Yeah, like that’s believable.”
“What? It’s true!” She insisted.
“Okay.”
“Lucy!”
I gave her a blank stare when she started to hit my arms, playfully. After few seconds of staring, we both fell into fits of laughter. I giggled, my heart easing slowly and my guilt evaporating in the air, leaving me at peace. My soul felt light and I felt free.
“Come on, let’s go,” said Mom, standing up and dusting the sand off her pants after few minutes. I pouted, not wanting to let go off this moment, it’s so peaceful and quiet!
“Come on, Lucy! Our moving truck came few minutes ago! You know they won’t wait up for us!”
I sighed. “All right…” I raised my arms in surrender, standing up and repeated her actions. I adjusted my red crop top and dusted the sand off my blue faded jean. I hopped into my brown boots, which was lying beside my feet and looked at my Mom, who was gesturing me to come quick.
I rolled my eyes and took a one last look at the Heaven Beach, before continuing my Mom’s path. Suddenly, I shivered, Goosebumps raised along my arms and a cold breeze hit my body.
I looked back again, feeling as if someone is watching over me but shrugged when I saw nothing.
“Weird,” I shook my head, frowning.
“Lucy?”
“Coming, Mom!” I sighed and walked behind my Mom, hands in the jeans and wondering what just happened.
“I shouldn’t have read so many thriller novels,” I shuddered. “Now I’m feeling like I’m living in it.”

I twisted around in my new bed, irritated and agitated due to howling winds, disturbing my precious sleep. I couldn't get enough sleep on my way here and now this! Ugh!
I opened my eyes with a long sigh and sat in my bed, ruffling my hair quite a bit. Throwing the bedspreads down the floor, I stood up, ignoring the coldness that's seeping into my body.
I slowly waddled to the window, tripping now and then because of the lack of light, enjoying the night time out there.
Since I was wearing black shorts and an off-shoulder blue blouse, it's so cold. I unconsciously looked at the clock and groaned when I realized the time.
2.30 AM
“I hate this time.” I grumbled, feeling chills rising on my arm. “Gosh...What's up with the climate?” I wondered out loud, my hazel eyes widening when I saw sky.
The sky is so pretty, with millions of stars glittering in the velvety sky. I'm actually surprised at the moon, which is a full moon, invading a lot of space in the sky.
The moon was clear and glowing divinely, causing a small smile to light up my features. I don't know why...But I'm overly obsessed with moon, sun, rain and…lightning. Yeah, people did say I'm weird...Not only for liking lightning....But at the same time, I fear lightning.
"Yep." I nodded my head. "I was a weird child back then."
‘Great…Now I’m talking to myself again…’ I thought, exhaling loudly.
I rubbed my arms, trying to warm myself up when I saw something amidst the bushes.
I blinked rapidly and widened my eyes to see if I’m imagining or not. I gasped, stumbling behind when a pair of red eyes staring coldly at me.
“What the heck is that?!”
I felt breathless at that moment, freaked out by the red eyes but at the same time, I’m wondering if I’m dreaming or not. I roughly rubbed my eyes and slapped my cheeks twice before looking at the same place where I had seen the eyes but…
Nothing
I could see nothing.
“I’m losing my sanity.” I sighed, shaking my head and tousled my hair, feeling greatly freaked out. “That’s official…”
I shivered when a cold breeze flitted past me, causing Goosebumps all over my arms. Suddenly, I felt calm and at peace. I exhaled loudly and felt sleep overpowering my conscious mind.
I yawned, rubbing my eyes and looked at the time.
3.00 AM
"Okie! That’s enough with creepy things…Time for sleep!" My voice slurred as I stumbled to my bed, hitting the leg of the bed, causing a howl of pain to escape from my lips.
Strings of curses went flying from my mouth as I rubbed my toes and plopped on my bed, pulling the covers over me entirely.
Soon, I couldn't hear any howling winds, which sort of scared me because it sounded like a dying whale, but I could hear a soft, melodic wind floating into my ears.
With a content sigh and the nature's awesome lullaby, wind, I fell into a deep sleep, without any nightmares.

“Slept well, I guess?” Mom questioned me tiredly, while I happily skipped down the stairs. I looked at the source of her voice and saw her sitting in the dining table. She was massaging her temples, as if she had gotten a headache.
I grinned, giving her thumbs up.
“Yep!” I nodded, feeling elated and refreshed. “I haven’t gotten this much good sleep for the past few weeks…”
Mom groaned. “So, is it only me? Why me?” she whined at the end, burying her face in her palms.
“What’s up?” I casually asked, sliding beside her. “Couldn’t sleep well?”
“That howling winds kept me up all night!” She shrieked, flailing her arms, almost hitting my jaw but I leaned back just in time. I sighed in relief and frowned at her.
“That disturbed my sleep too…But after-” I paused, a pair of mysterious red eyes flashed in my mind and I became silent.
“What?” Mom asked, looking at me.
“W-Well…After few minutes, I fell asleep…”
“…”
“What?” I asked in a defensive tone, seeing her unbelievable look.
“…It’s just that….” she trailed off, not knowing what to say. “You can’t get a wink of sleep when I was even breathing next to you-” My cheeks heated at that and I fiddled with my fingers, looking anywhere but her. “-So how did you manage to sleep well?”
“…Uh…Music?”
“Oh…” She nodded understandingly, knowing that I sleep as soon as music hits my ears. “I can see that…”
“Yeah…” I pursed my lips, my mind flashing to the same incident that happened hours ago.
Is it me? Is something wrong with me? Why do I keep seeing these kinds of things?
“Oh, I forgot,” Mom said, clapping her hands and snapping my attention back to her. “I got you enrolled in Fallen Angel High! You have school from tomorrow!”
I just gave her a blank stare.
“School?” I asked in a monotone voice. “Now?”
“Ah, come on! It’s such a great opportunity to find your social life back!”
“Yeah, like I don’t even have any social life,” I said sarcastically, rolling my eyes.
“Eh…You don’t have,”
“MOM!”
She just laughed at me, waving me off. Some Mom I have...
