When Mr. Patterson got home he talked to Nick about Shake. Mr.Patterson decided that since Nick took such good care of Shake he would let him go home with Nick. After Nick and Shake got home to Nick's house Nick fed Shake dinner and got him a good spot to sleep. After that night with Nick, Shake then ran off back to Mr. Patterson's inkwell shop. Once Shake got there Mr. Patterson took Shake back and had Shake sleep down in he basement. When Nick came over the next day Mr. Patterson let nick live with them also because he lost his job and couldn't pay for his home. Then two years later Nick gets a wife and they have two kids and live a three story house that has evrything they need including a dog. When they got the dog Nick named him Shake Jr. to remember Mr. Patterson's dog Shake.
