Read FICTION books online

Reading books fiction Have you ever thought about what fiction is? Probably, such a question may seem surprising: and so everything is clear. Every person throughout his life has to repeatedly create the works he needs for specific purposes - statements, autobiographies, dictations - using not gypsum or clay, not musical notes, not paints, but just a word. At the same time, almost every person will be very surprised if he is told that he thereby created a work of fiction, which is very different from visual art, music and sculpture making. However, everyone understands that a student's essay or dictation is fundamentally different from novels, short stories, news that are created by professional writers. In the works of professionals there is the most important difference - excogitation. But, oddly enough, in a school literature course, you don’t realize the full power of fiction. Chapter One

The full moon glistened brightly in the night sky making the huntress mark on my left hand glow with it. I breathed in cool night air and smiled. Looking down from a thirty story building, my smile grew wider. And I jumped. Air whipped around me as I dropped closer and closer to the ground. Positioning myself as if I was diving, I aimed for the flag pole. Grabbing the pole, I spun around it a few times, sending myself up in the air a few feet and then landing on the pole with my feet. I tapped the black cuff bracelet twice making it glow a moon light white. I watched as the color changed a crimson red and then I tapped again making it return to it's natural appearance. I leaped off the pole, landing silently on my feet. The stench of dried blood and demon breath became stronger as I slowly approached the most common hideout for lesser demons. The stench almost made me gag and it only grew worst as I opened the door to old bar. All eyes turned on me and all went silent.
"What brings a huntress here?" asked the bartender, his yellow snake eyes watching me closely.
"I'm looking for someone. Is there somewhere we can talk?" I asked. He nodded towards the back and he walked towards a closed door. He held it open for me.
"A little one like you shouldn't be in these parts," he said, looking at me. "Thanks for the concern but I can manage. I'm looking for Secan," I said. "What could you possibly want with such a low life as him?" He laughed, though it sounded more like a hiss. "He has information very helpful to us. I can't say more on the matter," I said. "Secan hasn't been seen in over six months. I figured one of you people had got to him. Not like he ment much to me,"he said. "thank you for your cooperation," I said, leaving the room. All eyes tracked me as I made my exit. My huntress mark glistened and I sighed, not in the mood to fight. Lowering the daggers in the sleeves of my jacket, I gripped them by the blade. Shaking my head, slightly I brought out my cat eyes. I could see three shadows. I tossed a dagger in the heart of the furthest one and watched him drop to the ground. The other two hissed and charged at me. I tossed the other dagger in the neck of the closest one. "Of course. Always the vampires," I said grabbing the vamp by it's arm and tossing him into a pile of trash. He stood up and lunged for me. I sidestepped him and swept his feet off the ground. Taking his head in my hands, I jerked my hands to the right, his head snapping with them. I retrieved my daggers now covered in blood. The night sky was slowly turning into a colorful sunrise. Shaking my head again, my normal vision returned. I walked the twelve blocks to Pandemonium. Typing in the twelve digit passcode that opened the door, I was greeted by Sullivan and Dylan. "Jeez, you smell bloody awful," Dylan said in his English accent, waving a hand pass his nose. "Thanks. Want a hug?" I asked, reaching for him. He sprinted down the hall. Sullivan stood there laughing. Walking past him, I headed for the elevator. He grabbed my wrist, pulling me close to him. "I don't even get a hello?" He asked. I twisted out of his grip and walked up the stairs. When I reached the thirteenth floor, I sighed, extremely worn out. "Yay! You're home," Adelyss said, wrapping her arms around my waist. She quickly jumped back at my stench. "Uh, I will just let you get showered and relaxed. I will come see you before I leave." With that said, she sprinted pass me down the stairs. I locked myself in my room, and began removing my hunting gear. Unwrapping the whip and chain from my waist, I placed it on my weapon wall. The two blood on the two daggers was now dried. I placed them in my bathroom sink and ran hot water on the blades making then light up. I took off the black leather jacket and tossed it aside. I ran the hot water and went to find something to sleep in. Hitting play on my iPod, music played at a reasonable volume. I took off my clothes and stepped into the steaming water. Black Veil Brides song "heavens calling" played. I showered and wrapped myself in a bathrobe. I dressed in a pair of sweat pants and a tank top. Turning down the music, I headed out my room, closing the door behind me. "There you are," Evelyn said from behind me. I turned to face her. She was dressed in her casual facade. Black Jeans with a pair of black platform four inch boots. Her laced black shirt look like it was squeezing the air out of her. On her lips was an uneven coat of red lipstick. "What do you need?" I asked. "The guys and I are going out. Want to join us?" She asked. "No thanks," I said. I turned and walked down the stairs with Evelyn behind me. "Ok. Can't say I didn't try," she said. I rolled my eyes. She talked about how long it took to find those specific pair of boots the whole way down the stairs. I was glad when we finally made it to the lobby. Sullivan stood watching as I rolled my eyes at Evelyn and her big mouth. I headed for the kitchen. I heard Sullivan say he would catch up and I walked a bit faster. The kitchen was empty like it usually is around this time which is the only reason I loved my patrol time. Sullivan came into the kitchen and leaned against the counter. "Iris? What's wrong?" He asked. I ignored him rummaging through the fridge. I pulled out a bowl of salad. I grabbed a fork and sat at the booth. He slid in next to me wrapping a long arm around my waist. "Why wont you speak to me?" "Why are you here?" I asked. "You know why I'm here," he said, kissing the bare skin of my shoulder, making me shift slightly. "We can talk later. I'm too tired now," I said. "Fine, my love. You know where to find me," he said. He kissed my cheek lightly, making my heart flutter. He walked out, leaving me wondering the real reason I was madly in love with him.

chapter Two

The touch of a hand stroking my cheek made me awake slowly. My eyes fluttered open and Sullivan sat beside me. He smiled when I looked him in the eyes. "What are you doing here?" I asked, my voice just a whisper because I had just woken up. "I wanted to see you. We don't have to talk if you don't want to,"he said. He contiuned to stroke my face and I closed my eyes in comfort. "What time is it?" I asked. "Almost six," he answered. "I slept the day away. How amazing," I said. He smiled and took one of my hands in both of his. "Let me go with you Iris," he pleaded. His eyes looked desperate but I couldn't let him come with me. I knew what would happen if he thought that I was putting myself in danger. He would stop me from doing the only thing that I was sure about. "Sullivan, I can't. Not this time," I said, pushing his hand away. "Atleast take someone. Even if its Skylar," he begged. "No. I like to do this on my own. No distractions," I said. He rolled his eyes but smiled. He leaned in, kissing my lips softly. "Fine. I will be right here, on this bed, waiting for the love of my life to come back for me," he said kissing me again. "Oh no you wont," I said pulling away from him. "If you haven't heard already my room is strictly off limits." "Fine. Come to my room when you get back," he said, pulling me back to him. He wrapped his arms around my waist. He sat up, pulling me into his lap, and cradled me to his chest. He kissed my forehead and just held me. After a few minutes, I pulled away. He stood up and looked down at me. He stroked my face and grabbed my chin in his hand. Tilting my head back, he kissed me.softly on the lips before leaving my.room. I sighed and went to my closet. I pulled out another huntress outfit, identical to the one groom yesterday but this one held more daggers. I dressed quickly and headed downstairs. Adelyss stood waiting for me at the door. "One day, i'm going to steal one of those sexy ass outfits of yours," she said, pulling her blonde hair into a pony tail. "I would love to see you try,"I said, smiling at the challenge. "nope, not after the last challenge," she said. I laughed and opened the door. "Still looking for Secan?" She asked me, when we werent within earshot of pandemonium. "He is the only one that knows what happened that day. He saved my life," I said, looking down at my feet as we walked. "Have you heard from Victoria?" She asked. "Nope. Not since we fought off the Hextara demon in that train station," I said remembering the long slime covered demon that smelled of another dimension. That demon had us all in recovery for Weeks and we had lost our friend Vanessa. I still blamed myself for her death. If I would have acted sooner, she would be alive today. "Ok. Becareful out there. Don't forget to be nice," she smiled. "How could I ever forget that?" I asked sarcastically. "One last thing," she said. She handed me the keys to the bike. "Keep her safe. She doesn't even have a scatch." "Thanks." We headed in different directions. Her, towards her black Audi 6 and me, to her black Suzuki v-strom. The bike was beautiful. I had only driven her one time before today. Slidding on the leather seat, I kicked her in gear. She purred beneath me and I smiled. I pulled off the curb and sped down the street. I figured I could hire a hellhound to search for Secan for me. I drove to the only place where you can find the hellhounds lurking about. I parked the motorcycle seven blocks away from the Wren's place. Pulling a pair of black leather gloves from my pocket, I slid them on. Wren's place was an old warehouse that I had help the hellhounds into after we helped eachother in a battle. These hellhounds vowed to help me in anyway and today was that day.
