Read FICTION books online

Reading books fiction Have you ever thought about what fiction is? Probably, such a question may seem surprising: and so everything is clear. Every person throughout his life has to repeatedly create the works he needs for specific purposes - statements, autobiographies, dictations - using not gypsum or clay, not musical notes, not paints, but just a word. At the same time, almost every person will be very surprised if he is told that he thereby created a work of fiction, which is very different from visual art, music and sculpture making. However, everyone understands that a student's essay or dictation is fundamentally different from novels, short stories, news that are created by professional writers. In the works of professionals there is the most important difference - excogitation. But, oddly enough, in a school literature course, you don’t realize the full power of fiction. I had made the ultimate sacrifice. I thought it was a good idea at the time. I thought it was a dream; you can do and say whatever you want to in a dream right? I did not realise what I was actually doing. I was selling my soul to the devil. On January 1st my parents and I had gotten into a bit of a fight. They did not approve of any of my recent changes. Like My soft long blonde hair becoming shoulder length and black. Or the multiple earrings I had on each ear. And my clothes were now a darker color black! I sat myself on our family couch in the middle of our living room. The tidiness of the place made me want to puke. The white cream and gold ever were did not suit me. My parents were sitting on the two chairs in front of the couch. Their faces were stern and looked hard as rock.
My mother looked at my father, and with that he began the lecture. “Kallie you were such a beautiful girl, why did you change so much and all of the sudden ?”
My face tightened as spoke “This is who I am, and I ’m sorry that I took my plastic face off but, I’m not your pretty little angel dad!” Their mouths dropped, and I was almost off the couch out of anger.
My mother stepped into the conversation. “We did not mean it like that sweetie.” I was fully standing now, and furry had filled my mind. The way they talked to me, the way they made me do everything to their standards, I was done.
My voice snapped out of me “Like hell you didn’t. You were always trying to mold me into the perfect daughter. I’m not her and never will be so back off.” They just stared at me with scornful eyes. My father stood out of chair he was 6 feet and 4 inches and stood well over top of my 5”11 height.
He grabbed my arm, and spoke with a thunderous voice “Look here I am at my wits end with you, you will listen to what I say and that is that.”
In my mind I was scared, but my I was sick of being treated like this. “Look dad if this is the life you want fine, but I refuse to allow you make me live in this hell hole.” With that I took my leave. I had no idea where I was going to go. I lived in a small town near Nanaimo and there weren’t many places to go. I pulled out my cell phone that I had got secretly. It was nothing fancy and I only used it for texting. I plucked in the number of my friend Nicky. No one picked up. I walked into the main part of town were there was an open for 24 hours McDonald’s. I stepped into the greasy smelling fast food place.
I went up to the middle aged cashier. “Welcome, what would you like.” I looked towards the list of food hanging above her head, I quickly scrolled over the crappy selection they had and just got some tea. I sat down in one of the booth seats and took out my sketchbook. I stayed drawing and slowly drinking my tea for about 3 hours. By that time it was about 4 am. They had one TV in there establishment. It had been on the late night news talking about some crack heist or something. Then the news suddenly got my attention. “Just coming in, there is a large house fire on 1589 Becker Street. My heart froze, My house. I leaped out of my seat and bolted out of there. My heart was pounding; I was running as fast as I could. My house was still an hour’s walk away from there, I had to get there as fast as I could. Did they get out in time are they alright? Tears started to fly off my face as I was running. I must have been running for half hour my legs finally gave in and I collapsed on to the ground. I had to get there .Ten minutes of running then I was there, I had to get up. My legs shook in complaint as I tried to stand. A cop car sped past and suddenly came to a stop. The car backed up to where I was. I still had tears rolling down my cheek as the door opened.
“Kallie is that you?” It was Niccole’s dad. I could not say anything before he got out of the car and helped me into it. I was in shock and could not put on the seat belt. Harry, Nicky’s dad bent over and put on me. He went around the car and got into it. As soon as he got in he put on his seatbelt . He turned the ignition on the car. It rattled as it turned on.
He began to turn the car around, away from my house. “wa? What are you doing I need to go to my house.”
He let out a soft sigh “look Kallie there is nothing for you there anymore it’s better not to look at it.” My body froze my house it’s gone.
Then it hit me. “What about my parents?” I barely got out the words. He stopped the car in the middle of the road.
He was staring at the wheel then he let the five words I would never forget. “I’m sorry for your loss.” I burst out crying. The last thing I had said to them was I did not want to see them anymore. How could I do that, and why would this happen to me.
Harry turned to face me “I’m sorry Kallie I’m going to take you to the police office, they just want to ask you some questions.” I did not say anything back, I just sat there crying.” By the time we got to the police center all I wanted to do was fall away in a hole and never come back. Harry came and helped me out of the car. I was still sobbing, but I had run out of tears. He brought me into the office and asked me to sit down. The office was much like a teachers lounge in school. It had an old couch, a coffee pot, a fridge and a couple flowers.
A lady entered the room, she had a police uniform on and looked like she was in her mid-thirties. “Hi Kallie my name is officer Bell. I’m truly sorry for your loss”. She asked me some basic questions. She asked me why I was out, and how the fire could have been ignited.
“Ring ring” Officer Bell’s phone went off.” She smiled at me “Sorry one moment please. Hello?-Yes-no-oh no-alright thank you. (Click).”
She fidgeted in her seat before speaking. “Kallie is there anyone that you know of that would want to hurt your parents?” What? they were stuck up and highly religious but that’s no reason for killing anyone. But wait does that mean my parents were killed?
“Why?” Were the only words I could get out of my mouth?
Officer Bell stared at me with sorrow. “Kallie, though your parents were heavily burnt there were signs of knife marks on their necks. I know this is hard for you to hear but.”
She paused. “Your parents they... they were murdered.”
I started to cry again. Why would someone want to kill them to take their lives? “No..... I don’t know anyone that would want to kill them.” I just wanted to leave.
She sat upright. “Thank you Kallie, we have a bed set up for you here. I walked from the one room into the next there was a yellow concrete cell. I looked at the bed. Someone must have gone and gotten some, new sheets, blanket, and pillow because all three of them were fluffy pink. I walked inside of it, they did not lock the door.
One of the other officers spoke to me before leaving. “Kallie we are here all night if you need anything don’t hesitate to ask.” I gave a half-hearted nod. Then he left. I fell into the bed and tried to forget everything. I could tell I was having a Dream, There was darkness everywhere I was staring at nothing.
A voice spoke out. “HaHa seems that you are having some rough times.”
I was not in the mood for a dream like this. “Ya what of it?” was my reply.
I constantly heard snickering. “Well I could help if you wanted.”
Just go along with the dream. “Ya that would help.”
His next words made it sound as if he was sorry there was a (but) to it. “Well there is one problem though.” Even though it was a dream I swear A chill just went down my back. “And what would that be?”
I almost shivered again as he spoke “I’m glad you asked. I need you to help me with something.” “Like what?” as I spoke the snickering stopped the snickering stopped for a moment.
“Oh just some errands.” The snickering continued. “I will give you the power to find and kill your parent’s killer.”
I waited before I said anything. This all seemed really weird “That’s good.”
Even though It was pitch black I could feel the smile in his voice as he said “I will have someone join you and show you how to help me out with my errands. He is very good at helping me out.”
If I agree maybe this dream will end. “Sure I will agree but I am really tired so I’m going to drift back to sleep now ok.
The last thing I heard was a whisper. “You will not be tired for much longer.” Next thing I knew I had bolted up from my bed. I was sweating… a lot. I then realised I had not taking my earrings out when I went to bed. I brought up my hand to feel the three hoops. I touch the closed skin of my earlobe. My earrings, they came off, and my skin healed over ? What was going on? I brought my hand down. I felt locks of my hair crease me hand. Ok this is really weird. What is going on first my ear heals over night , and now my hair grows to? I lifted my hair over to my eyes. “The light blonde flashed my vision. I leaped out of the bed towards the small circular mirror outside the cell. The mirror showed even more changes. My face had lost all of its blemishes and was now a complete even light color. My face was more edged, more defined. I looked closer into the mirror. My eyes! My light blue eyes seemed to have a reddish tint to them. The pupil seemed slightly oval shaped even. I slowly backed away from the mirror to get a look at the rest of my body. It was more defined more muscular. What was going on!
A voice spoke from the other room “Kallie are you awake?” Omg I can’t let them see me like this. I rushed towards the emergency exit. As I was going through the door a loud ringing
