Read FICTION books online

Reading books fiction Have you ever thought about what fiction is? Probably, such a question may seem surprising: and so everything is clear. Every person throughout his life has to repeatedly create the works he needs for specific purposes - statements, autobiographies, dictations - using not gypsum or clay, not musical notes, not paints, but just a word. At the same time, almost every person will be very surprised if he is told that he thereby created a work of fiction, which is very different from visual art, music and sculpture making. However, everyone understands that a student's essay or dictation is fundamentally different from novels, short stories, news that are created by professional writers. In the works of professionals there is the most important difference - excogitation. But, oddly enough, in a school literature course, you don’t realize the full power of fiction. My eyes narrowed, and I wielded my weapon with the grace that came from years of practice. How could these fools continue to make the same mistake, day after day, week after week, year after year? It would be their downfall – if not today, it would surely hinder them later in life.

The point quivered over my prey, though I hesitated. Did they deserve this? Yes

, came the resounding answer in my head.

I shook my head and sighed, deliberately inking a large check mark in red next to the offending word. “Their” was possessive; when would these kids understand?

There are those few moments in life you want a rewind. The moment the cashier tells you to enjoy your meal, and you reflexively say “you too”. The moment you think of an amazing comeback for that insult he said to you yesterday. The moment you run into someone and you both dodge the same way – again and again and again, a never-ending loop of awkward laughs and apologies.

But it’s never wanted more than when a friend says “hey, can I borrow your computer for a bit?” and you say yes before you realized you haven’t cleared the history.

It was perfect: a dim moonlit night, a light breeze lifting her skirt ever-so-slightly, and an ocean view. She leaned into his touch, and his arm wrapped around her shoulder. This is what love was supposed

She sighed happily. “I love you more.”

“Actually, that’s probably true. I think we need to talk.”

“I … wait, what?”
