THE SECOND LIFE by JANDAVIS (read book .TXT) 📖

It was first day of winter, the temp dropped to meet its expectations, wet ice chips were falling out of the sky. My daughter put some logs in the fireplace and started a nice cozy fire, while her children played with their toys. It was a ordinary day, while her husband and mine went to there jobs for the day. It was my day off I went next door to visit with my daughter, we were the only neighbors for miles living on a mountain. During our quiet, morning, someone knocked on the door. Who could it possibly be out in this winter weather up here on the mountain? I went to the door and opened it and right there in front of me was my dad! Why was i shocked?

Well to start with, my dad died in 1995 and this is 2009! But he was here at my daughters door, he looked very happy to see me and wanted to come right in so he could talk. I said Dad how do you explain this? We thought you were gone, how can this be?
I was so confused i kept asking alot of quesions over and over and i finally gave him time to speak.

He said it was hard to explain and would be harder to understand, but he needed me to understand and help explain to to my brothers and sisters as well.

Okay dad, just start where you can, so i can understand why we have spent so many years without you , and grieved so hard for your loss. How can this be? Your grand children are all grown, you have great grandchildren here that you have never met.

He said do you remmeber when i worked constuction and i always carried a tin can of anacins in my pocket? Yes i remember that , I always thought you ate too many of the darn things.
Well the truth is i carried a bug device inside that can, i was employed by the federal agent of China.
I ask what about mom? did she know? Yes she knew she was employed as well but to maintain her life here for all of you, I had to go on a mission in China.

Is my mind playing tricks on me, am i suppose to understand this? I ask dad to help me understand.
lord I have to understand. I have peices in my head like a puzzle trying to put them all into place.

I go into the kitchen and get us a hot cup of coffee, and i set down next to my dad wanted him to continue.

I ask how did it happen you were gone for so long on this mission? He told me he had another family and three more babies in China and i could talk to his wife to help me believe it, his mission was to investigate deaths of China babies to see how they were to die but his investigation failed on the loss of his own children there. But during the process he did find out how the babies were being poisioned through the feeding of the mothers, and loss of so many children including his own, but his mission was completed in that aspect.

Dad looked good sitting there talking to me after all these years expaining how he was on a mission of a second life.. Not knowing how I cold comprehend all the details and how to explain it all. I woke up!
