Oh god, no, this can’t be happening. It’s so dark! I can’t see anything! A wave of pain washes over me. My stomach shoots up my throat like I’m on some deadly roller coaster. It keeps going down, down, down. I reach my hand up towards my face and feel it wet with the sticky, warmth of blood. I reach for my dad. His pulse is barely there. I start to weep uncontrollably. That’s when something hits me in the head and knocks me out.
~
Through my closed eyelids I see light. I can hear moaning and crying and yelling. I smell the nearly toxic cleaning supplies they use in hospitals. Moan softly from the aching pain in my bones and the splitting head ache. “Doctor! This one’s alive!” Somebody yells. When I try to sit up warm hands coaxed me back down. “Don’t try to sit up. You’ll need your strength later.” says the owner of the hands. I lie back down and let myself sleep.

Have you ever thought about what fiction is? Probably, such a question may seem surprising: and so everything is clear. Every person throughout his life has to repeatedly create the works he needs for specific purposes - statements, autobiographies, dictations - using not gypsum or clay, not musical notes, not paints, but just a word. At the same time, almost every person will be very surprised if he is told that he thereby created a work of fiction, which is very different from visual art, music and sculpture making. However, everyone understands that a student's essay or dictation is fundamentally different from novels, short stories, news that are created by professional writers. In the works of professionals there is the most important difference - excogitation. But, oddly enough, in a school literature course, you don’t realize the full power of fiction. So using our website in your free time discover fiction for yourself.
