The Metallic tang of human blood rushed into my mouth. Like copper or metal tasted after a heavy rainfall. I was dying, that much was apparent. I look down, trying to ignore the frothing blood that was slowly starting to spill from my lips and the searing pain that was coursing through my body from my stomach. The spear protruded from my stomach.It was dark black and had intricate symbols and patterns running up the shaft. I knew it would be dangerous when I took the job. I knew if the tribe didn’t want to be found the wouldn’t.
Flight
The ship sailed smoothly through space, a type 5 shuttle craft. It was mainly used in emergencies, as I looked at the planet surface as the public vessel jetted off I could see the emergency unfolding, three ships, megaliths of alien technology descending on the planet below, my home land, Earth. The planet had been under alien attack before, but that was an invasion. This was destruction. The front of each ship began to glow and the type 5 shuttle craft shook as the planet the human race had begun on was reduced to smouldering pieces of molten rock.
Inspection
I walked into the room and the smell of blood immediately assaulted my senses. The heavy, sickly sweet aroma drifting into my nostrils and making my head spin. I was sure I would have fainted if I wasn’t used to it by now. The murder had been brutal, all who had read the reports felt the same about this man who drugged his victims, took them away, dismembered and then devoured them. Rumours spread that he could cause his victim to live through the ordeal until the final bite. I fell to the ground unconscious. It was my turn.
