Read FICTION books online

Reading books fiction Have you ever thought about what fiction is? Probably, such a question may seem surprising: and so everything is clear. Every person throughout his life has to repeatedly create the works he needs for specific purposes - statements, autobiographies, dictations - using not gypsum or clay, not musical notes, not paints, but just a word. At the same time, almost every person will be very surprised if he is told that he thereby created a work of fiction, which is very different from visual art, music and sculpture making. However, everyone understands that a student's essay or dictation is fundamentally different from novels, short stories, news that are created by professional writers. In the works of professionals there is the most important difference - excogitation. But, oddly enough, in a school literature course, you don’t realize the full power of fiction. Book online «Dust by Jdalld (most read books of all time .txt) 📖». Author Jdalld

I sat in the office so very sure of my doom, peering out the window at the beautiful flowers I thought to myself, how I was going to miss them. I was going to miss the birds, and all the butterflies too. It didn't occur to me that I would not miss a thing. A tear gathered at the corner of my eye, wiping it away, I allowed the wave of pity to drench me. Why me?

Dr. Petersen studied the report, glanced over the x-ray a few times, then back down to the report. I wanted to scream at him, hadn't he studied them already, I'd been waiting for over an hour. It was ridiculous, here I was dying and he was wasting what little time I had left. He cleared his throat, (here it was, the name of my killer.. some oma I was sure)...
“Your x-rays are clear, I believe you are suffering from an allergy, is there anything new in your home, a new pet, or new furniture, perhaps a new cleaning product?

Was he serious, my x-ray was clear, did I have some new pets, products..WHAT?

So, no oma, now I had to go home, tear my house apart, find the allergen. I didn't know where to begin. All I knew was during the day, the cough wasn't so bad, only if I was in a hurry or doing something strenuous. At night though, it would wake me, my throat dry, scratchy, hacking until I couldn't catch my breath. Sometimes I saw a fine mist at least that's what it appeared to be.

I didn't want to look like a hypochondriac, but I went back to Dr. Petersen.

He was exasperated with me, still I knew deep inside something wasn't right. He prescribed more syrup, more antibiotics... they were useless.

Persistence paid off, Dr. Petersen sent me to a specialist. He did it all, I have to commend him. The last test a bronchoscopy, verified my paranoia.

Here I am, they are peering in at me, I've become a legend. The hacking cough is persistent now, day and night, it's my constant companion. I can't eat, drink or sleep.

You ask, “what did the test reveal?”

The lining of my bronchial tubes were dry, they were flaking away, there was a dry sediment settling down in my lungs, basically dust.

The funny thing is, I'd been having problems with dry, itchy skin that would disintegrate when touched. If you came to visit me, you could only look through the window because once you opened the door, I would just blow away...

"From dust you came and to dust you shall return"

Amen
