Read FICTION books online

Reading books fiction Have you ever thought about what fiction is? Probably, such a question may seem surprising: and so everything is clear. Every person throughout his life has to repeatedly create the works he needs for specific purposes - statements, autobiographies, dictations - using not gypsum or clay, not musical notes, not paints, but just a word. At the same time, almost every person will be very surprised if he is told that he thereby created a work of fiction, which is very different from visual art, music and sculpture making. However, everyone understands that a student's essay or dictation is fundamentally different from novels, short stories, news that are created by professional writers. In the works of professionals there is the most important difference - excogitation. But, oddly enough, in a school literature course, you don’t realize the full power of fiction. In a world full of deception, you can never put your trust upon anyone, lest you put your trust in the wrong person. Yet in this world, there was and still is only one person that I would trust with my life. That person’s name is Ce'Nedra and she is the best friend that I have ever had. There are few people that I trust and for an important reason, one that you will find out, in the story of my life.

***

It was the first day of my new high school, and I was afraid, afraid of being found again. I was alone in an unknown place far from the land where I was born, the place I call home, trying to escape from my father's ex-advisor -a man who had his trust though he didn't deserve it. I was early so I could get a look around the school without the every day hustle and bustle through the halls that were especially dangerous to the new students. However, I wasn’t the only one who thought of this. There was one other, a girl around my age, with long strawberry blonde hair that ended just past her waist. At the moment that was all that I saw of her as her back was turned. Wanting to know who she was I decided to introduce myself.
“Hey, my name is Clary. Who are you?” I inquired.
She turned around, startled, and what a pretty face she had, her eyes were almond shaped and her nose long and pronounced, her lips were wide and full with just the right amount of lip-gloss applied. What caught my attention though were her eyes, a unique and beautiful emerald green. For a moment, I thought that they were contacts but soon dismissed this thought. Not even contacts could be so bright a color I thought.
“Oh, hello. I thought that I was alone. This place seems so empty right now don’t you think?” she finally responded with a voice that would make the angels jealous.
“Yes it does, but you still have not told me who you are.” I replied honestly.
“Oh, It completely slipped my mind. My name’s Ce'Nedra.”
“Wow, that's a beautiful name... Hey, what’s your schedule like? Maybe we have some classes together so we could hang out.”
“Well, I…” she trailed off looking at something behind me, something that scared her. I turned around and when I saw what she was looking at, I screamed. He found me; I can’t believe that he found me I thought. He flashed me a devilish grin and winked at me as I shuddered in revulsion.
The very person I came to this god-awful place to get away from had found me as he always had and always will. He tried to make Ce'Nedra leave using the power of mind control, a gift all of our kind had. A gift for demons like us, but for some reason it didn’t work on Ce'Nedra. However, all that did was make him mad, as he was about to strike I shouted, “Run!”
Thankfully, she listened to me and ran as fast as she could. But, it wasn’t fast enough to out run a full-blooded demon like Bael. If it hadn’t been for me Ce'Nedra would have died, but then if it weren’t for me she wouldn’t be in this situation in the first place. I am, unfortunately, Satan’s daughter, he rules over all demons and evil souls, so I am the fastest of my race. I had just barely stopped him before she ran around the corner, towards the nearest exit, I hoped. But I had no time to think about it as Bael turned on me.
The fire in his eyes burned into my own, my heart, my body, my soul. With most this look would have quite literally petrified them. The fire eventually burned down to a point, which shows that he has calmed down enough to have the ability to speak again.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here. A young girl who happens to be Satan's pride and joy. And the very person I need to rise to power." Bael drawled trying to antagonize me to make me weaker and more predictable in order to capture me as he did my father. But there was one problem with his tactic, it doesn't work on me.
Then all of a sudden I hear shouting coming from behind me. I didn't dare turn my back to Bael so I just stood there listening to what was being said. But there were so many different voices that even I couldn't understand what they where saying. Then Ce'Nedra's voice rose above the others telling them to be quiet and listen.
Bael was to busy flaunting his supposed intelligence to notice what was going on around the corner. I heard them coming around the corner and when he glanced up he saw them and literally vanished into thin air. Ce'Nedra ran up to me and started asking if I was alright, but I could barely hear her, I just stood there in shock. My vision started to black out, were I capable of coherent thought I would have wondered what was happening. Then I was falling and that was the last thing I remembered of that moment.

***

When I awoke I was looking up at white ceiling and I had strange tubes in my arms. I sat up wondering were I was, I started looking around the room and saw that it was barren of personality, and it was dark out; I wondered where the time went. I tried to remember what had happened but for some reason I couldn't. As I sat there thinking trying to remember what happened, I realized that I didn't even remember my name. A young woman came in, with a name tag upon her shirt though in the darkness of the room I couldn't see what was written on it, she looked to be in her early twenties or late teens following her was a girl around my age -whatever my age is- with the most beautiful emerald green eyes. As I was looking into her eyes it all came back to me, everything we said, everything that happened, everything.
"Are you okay?" I could tell that she was worried even though it didn't show.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I confidently replied
"Are you sure? Cause you passed out from shock or something. Everyone thought you were never going to wake up."
"Yeah, seriously, I'm fine."
"Well, that's good. Are you going to be at school tomorrow?"
"Ahh... no. Sorry but I gotta leave."
"What?!? Why?!?"
"I've been running from that man for months, I can't stop now especially now that he knows where I am."
"What about your parents? Have you told them about him? Can't they do anything to help? Or what about the police?"
"My mother died while giving birth to me, he abducted my father, and didn't you see how he disappeared like that? The cops would never be able to catch him."
"Wow. I'm so-"
"Don't say your sorry, cause sorry isn't going to help me." I snapped.
"Okay... How did he disappear like that any way?"
"Uhhhhhhh......" Oh crap why did she have to ask that?
"Well?" She was getting impatient.
"Umm... I can't say."
"Why not?"
"For three reasons. One I don't exactly trust you, two you would never believe me if I told you, and three if I told you you'd think I was crazy."
"Tell me. Please, I want to help you if you'll just trust me."
"Fine. Just promise me that you'll keep an open mind, okay?"
"Promise."
It was then that I explained my incredibly long tale for the first time. The entire time she didn't comment or question my sanity or say any thing really except for some clarifying questions.
"So, do you believe me?" I asked nervously.
"Of course I do!"
"What? Why?"
"I've been seeing demons since I was a little girl. I tried telling my parents but they didn't believe me. They sent me to a psychiatrist, then to a mental hospital. They thought I was crazy, they thought they were hallucinations, that they weren't real. But I knew, I knew that they were real. But they never touched me, in fact they were afraid of me. I don't know why though."
"I do." It was my father's voice, he was stretching his consciousness out to us.
"What was that?!?!" Ce'Nedra asked in a terrified voice, that was barely more than a squeak.
"It's my father, don't worry, he can't hurt you because he's trapped in Bael's lair." I confidently responded.
"Clary, my daughter, I must tell you something. I haven't been as honest with you as you thought. There is a reason that young Ce'Nedra can see demons and that they fear her." He said with great regret, for what reason I have yet to find out.
"What are you talking about father? What do you mean?" I asked bewildered.
"I mean that Ce'Nedra is your half sister, her mother was only human that I have let have a child of mine. She is not a full demon, though she can see them, hear them, and speak to them, she can't do much else."
"That's not true, she can resist their power as well, I saw it with my own eyes. Bael tried to bend her to his will, but he couldn't, at the time I didn't know why but now I do."
"NO!! It's NOT possible, I CAN'T be Satan's daughter!" Ce'Nedra exclaimed in distress.
"You must be, there's no other explanation."
"What do you mean there's no other explanation? Aren't there any gifted humans that can see your kind?"
"No, not unless they have demon blood in them. The demons also fear you, no demon would fear a child unless their parent is extremely powerful and my - our father is the strongest of them all."
"But- if Satan is my father, what about my mother, what about my father?"
"My child, your mother died, during childbirth. You were sent to an adoption agency."
"Why didn't you take me with you? Why leave me here ignorant of who I am?"
"It was the only way to keep you safe. I have many unfaithful servants and if they had found out that you were mortal they would have killed you on the spot, no matter who your father is."
"Father, pardon for the intrusion but why are you here, so to speak." I asked slightly confused, wondering why he would risk himself like this.
"Ah, right, I almost forgot, thank you Clary. I need you to stop running for a time-"
"WHAT?!?! YOU WANT ME TO GO WITH HIM?!?! BUT HE'S A TRAITOR!!! I-" I couldn't believe this all the time I had spent running would all go to waste and the fact that this was coming from my own father, the one Bael betrayed, really shocked me.
"CLARY! If you want to save me the only way is to let him take you to his palace." This is the good thing about father, he never gets mad. Mortals always say that he's evil and cruel and he'll do anything to get more power, but in reality he's actually really kind and caring.
"But what about Ce'Nedra? The last time Bael and her met she pissed him off quite a bit."
"I'm sorry girls but I must leave you now. You must come up with a plan on your own." He sounded rushed and then he was gone.
"What was that last part about? And What did you
