Read FICTION books online

Reading books fiction Have you ever thought about what fiction is? Probably, such a question may seem surprising: and so everything is clear. Every person throughout his life has to repeatedly create the works he needs for specific purposes - statements, autobiographies, dictations - using not gypsum or clay, not musical notes, not paints, but just a word. At the same time, almost every person will be very surprised if he is told that he thereby created a work of fiction, which is very different from visual art, music and sculpture making. However, everyone understands that a student's essay or dictation is fundamentally different from novels, short stories, news that are created by professional writers. In the works of professionals there is the most important difference - excogitation. But, oddly enough, in a school literature course, you don’t realize the full power of fiction. The Uzis

Chapter One

“The more things change, the more they stay the same.” That’s what my mother used to always say. Even through much turmoil growing up on the poorest side of the Cherry Hill neighborhood in this grand city of Baltimore, she always managed to look on the brighter side of things and stay positive even when it felt as though our family’s world was shattering in pieces around us. As one of the very few servals running with the Potee Street Uzis gang and in the neighborhood overall, respect was my number one top priority. “Ah. Brother Thomas.” My dearest friend Humphrey Higgins greeted as I stepped through the main door of the old clubroom. “So nice to have you with us again, my compadre.” Humphrey was our leader and founder, Cody Makle’s second in command and our group’s sharpshooter. He was always there and at the top of his game whenever you needed a job done and any threats dealt with both quickly and quietly. Unless you happened to get on his bad side, he was always a pretty jovial and docile wolf with tawny colored fur and an icy blue left eye for which we aptly nicknamed him “Ice”. He wore a black pirate themed patch over his right one and never once told us how he lost it, said it was too sensitive of a topic for him to discuss. As for me, Thomas Weston, I was the group’s point man. Any job that needed to be done, big or small, I was there and always went in fast and hard mostly guns ablaze. I was the one to always make damn sure our soldiers got both in and out all the same; safe and still all in one piece. “Humphrey, my good man!” I responded, giving him the group’s signature secret brotherly like paw shake. “Damn good to see you too, brotha. What’s been cracking over in your little corner of the world?” “Oh, just same old, same old.” He said. “Went up to my hometown in Detroit to visit some family there. Nothing special. Just glad that I can finally be back here with you guys where my heart is.” “Yeah. No doubt, brotha.” I replied. “No doubt.” “Hey. Aren’t you guys forgetting about me?” A familiar voice quipped. “Don’t forget me.” Said another behind it. Just then, the two important heads of our group themselves, Cody Makle and Jessica Burdell padded down the old rickety wooden stairs into the clubroom and soon made their appearances known. Jessica was a peppy mountain lion from California and Cody was a rather wild and crazy Rottweiler from the suburbs of the Columbia area just a few miles south of the city. “Alright, guys.” Jessica began, her blue green eyes glistening with distaste about the topic she was beginning to discuss with us. “You’re not gonna like this. As you know, the Kings have been unwelcomely treading on turf that was once rightfully ours over on Waterview Avenue just two years ago.” “Those slippery fuckers.” Humphrey growled, baring his teeth. Jessica continued. “We let our guard down the first time but rest assure you it will not happen again. We will take the fight directly to them and definitely show all of those assholes what it feels like to lose and be at the bottom of the food chain.” “Fuck yeah!” Humphrey and I agreed in unison and saddled up with the rest of the crew, grabbing our weapons and high grade armored vests before heading out to Cody’s Escalade parked in the lot outside.

We gently cruised between the neat rows of buildings down the long narrow section of road toward Waterview and kept our weapons locked and loaded as we steadily neared the bunkhouse for the now eastern branch of the Kings. “Alright.” Jessica began. “Here’s the plan. The very moment that one of those fuckers steps out, waste em. No one and I mean no one leaves this whole place alive.” “Gotchya, boss girl.” I answered affirmatively and looked carefully down the ACOG scope of my MP5, patiently getting eyes on the main door of the small three story structure. After about fifteen minutes of waiting, the first Kings member finally came into view and slowly treaded up the stairs onto the nearby sidewalk, seemingly unaware of the present danger awaiting him. Perfect. “Alright, you motherfuckers.” I said in almost a whisper under my breath. “Come and get some.” At Jessica’s command, I brought up my MP5 to aim and squeezed off three burst rounds right into the coyote’s upper torso and neck, rendering him down and out almost instantly. Just as soon as he went down, the others scrambled like ants to see who had dropped him and figure out what in the blue blazes was going on but before any of them could even have a chance to think, Thomas, Jessica, Cody, and I all opened fire and put a borage of bullets into each one of the Kings coyotes until soon there was nothing but a mess of bloody corpses scattered all throughout the sidewalks of the whole avenue and nothing but the sound of a pin drop could be heard. From out of the ashes, stepped out the rather inglorious asshole at the very head of their treacherous crew himself, Rudolf Kane. Jessica raised her AR-15 upon his approach and was just about to fire a shot aimed directly for his head when Cody suddenly stopped her. “Not yet, sisty.” He said, placing a paw on her shoulder. “Not yet.” “Well, if it isn’t the infamous Cody Makle and his lapdogs here to shut me down.” Kane purred in an oily voice. “You know, I’d really love to stick around and maybe have a friendly chat but I’ve got things to do, maybe a few places to hit up which is why I kindly say for once that this turf is now officially yours. But just know, you may have one the battle but this war is definitely far from over as I’m sure most of you could probably guess. Tata now, ladies.” And with that he turned and slowly headed down the alley to a car on the corner and disappeared down the still quiet street onto Cherry Hill road leading downtown while the rest of us watched in pure abhorrence and disgust. Thomas sucked his teeth. “Man, I really can’t wait till we clock that fucker.” He said angrily. “Soon, brother.” Cody replied. “Soon.”

After some time of lazing around and basking in the glorious silence of victory over at the clubhouse, we got a new job from Cody and Jessica about a deal we were supposed to be making with a buyer over in downtown for some pure Columbian grade coco in exchange for some fast cash in which we were currently unsure of the amount but had to be more than enough for some goods like these. We made our way over to a nearby alley way over on Aliceanna Street and just as planned, found our buyer waiting right there for us upon our arrival. “Ten million, as we agreed.” The husky said, flashing us a briefcase full of the grip. “You got the goods?” “Of course.” Cody replied as he handed over the five bricks of coke slowly to the husky. However, the husky oddly did not let go of the cash. Instead, he gave us a rather hard stare and said slowly, “You know, I believe we may have just one slight problem with a little arrangement.” “Oh? And what might that be?” Thomas asked curiously. “BPD, motherfuckers!” The husky answered, flashing a shiny badge and pulling a Glock from somewhere under his jacket. Before anyone could even think of a proper reaction, I drew my sig sauer P2022 pistol faster than the drop of a hat and put two rounds into the one time’s skull before turning quickly on my heels and making my way with my comrades to Cody’s Escalade at the end of the alley with the money just as the sound of sirens steadily approached in the distance.
