Read FICTION books online

Reading books fiction Have you ever thought about what fiction is? Probably, such a question may seem surprising: and so everything is clear. Every person throughout his life has to repeatedly create the works he needs for specific purposes - statements, autobiographies, dictations - using not gypsum or clay, not musical notes, not paints, but just a word. At the same time, almost every person will be very surprised if he is told that he thereby created a work of fiction, which is very different from visual art, music and sculpture making. However, everyone understands that a student's essay or dictation is fundamentally different from novels, short stories, news that are created by professional writers. In the works of professionals there is the most important difference - excogitation. But, oddly enough, in a school literature course, you don’t realize the full power of fiction. The Last Phoenix

CHAPTER ONE I love hearing my gang saying everything together. It reminds me that we are a pack. And in this big pack of mine there are four sets of triplets from different families. The first two sets are the same age but, from different families. Aria, Lia and I; and there is: Will, Xavier, and Trey. The next two sets are the same age but, from different families. There is Melody, Mackenzi, and Tiarra; and Ben, Max, and Sam. Aria, Lia, Will, Xavier, Trey, and I are all 17. Melody, Mackenzi, Tiarra, Ben, Max, and Sam are all 13. Yea, lots of triplets, and where we come from, that’s a bad thing.

We come from a district that has 5 cities. 1-5, one being the wealthiest, and 5 being the poorest. We come from city 3. In every city there are different beliefs and in city 3 it is a death omen to have/ be a part of triplets, so we were all disowned by our families and kicked out to live on the street. Aria, Lia and I wanted to form a pack so that all of the triplets, which we liked in our city, wouldn’t be alone. We got together with the triplets and decided city 3 was no place for us. We packed up our stuff and headed out towards city 4 and 5. Yea, we just left.

It took us three months just to reach the end of city 4 and another 3 to get to the end of city 5. Then all of the sudden after one day of brutal walking, we saw it, the end of city 5. It was freedom, and it was right there. Even though we were all dead tired we broke out running, and Max beat us all. Since we couldn’t hear or see anyone we decided to make camp and call this land our little home. Freedom is what we called the land.

CHAPTER TWO I sat at the little hut that Xavier, Will and Trey built for us all. We had been in Freedom for about 2 ½ months so far. As I looked around I realized that we had a pretty good home around us. There was a small river to the left of us and a pretty big piece of land for the houses. All around us were surrounded by trees so no one could see us. And best of all we were safe and out of city 3.

When I looked around I noticed how happy everyone was. And now I’m going to give you all a little descriptive of everyone. Me: My name is Lexi. I have black hair with purple streaks. I have icy, silvery green eyes. I am 5’7. I am a co leader to Will. I lead the girls and him the guys. Will: My co leader. He is the tallest person in the pack, 5’9’. He has black hair that covers one perfect blue green eye. He is also a sweet romantic, and my boyfriend. Aria: My sister. She has brown hair with blond streaks. She is 5’5’. She has silvery blue eyes. She is also a drummer and loves Xavier. Xavier: He has brown/ black hair that is cut short. He is 5’6’. He has brown eyes and loves art and Aria. Lia: My sister. She has red/brown hair. She has silvery blue eyes, just like Aria’s. We would describe her as the dirty minded emo one; she is also a little shy. She is 5’5’, and she is in love with Trey. Trey: He has black hair that goes down to his jawbone. It covers one of his ice blue eyes. He is 5’7’. He would be described just like Lia, and he loves that. Mackenzi: Has long brown hair that reaches down to her hips. She has warm brown eyes and is 5’1’. She is completely sarcastic, and is in love with Max. Her nickname is Kenzi. Max: He has soft honey colored hair that covers his eyes. He is 5’2’. He is also really into sports, and Mackenzi. Melody: She has bright red hair, and red eyes to match. Her hair goes down to her shoulders. She is 5’0’ and has the most beautiful voice in the world. She is in love with Sam. Sam: He has very short dark brown hair, and has red eyes to match Melody’s. He is 5’2’. He plays the guitar and love Melody to death. Ben: He has really short brown black hair and really soft brown eyes. He is 5’1’. You could describe him as the world’s sweetest person, and he can cook. He loves Tiarra. Tiarra: She is 5’0’ and is so smart. She’s the reason we don’t die of food poisoning. She has dark brown/black hair that’s so soft. And that’s my family.

CHAPTER THREE
Sitting in the home with Melody laying down next to me, I felt as if the world could not be a better place. Melody was my sweetie. It was like she and I were meant to be together. I mean I loved all of them but Melody was closest to me so far.

“Lexi, what cha thinkin ‘bout?”

“Oh my god! Melody. Don’t scare me like that.”

“Well sorry but, you looked hard into thought! So I wanted to know what you were thinkin ‘bout.”

“Still, don’t scare me like that, you know I’m still afraid someone is gonna find us and kill us.”

“That’s not gonna happen Lexi. And you know we have Will, Xavier and Treyto protect us, and we’ll all be safe.”

“But don’t you ever think one day they might not be enough? That one day someone or something will be stronger than them?”

“I have thought about it before but, they’re my family. And family protects each other. So as long as they’re here I’m going to be just fine.”

“Melody you can’t always rely on family. Remember city 3. That was our family and they kicked us out, they didn’t want to protect us.”

“But they didn’t really care about us, and I know that everyone cares about each other here. Other wise we wouldn’t have lived this long. Tiarra cares, because she could have killed us just by telling to eat a bad plant. Will, Xavier and Trey could have killed us by building an unstable house that would crash down on us. Lia and Aria are your sisters. Ben could have cooked something wrong. And Kenzi, Max and Sammy could have just killed us in combat. They are pretty good fighters. So you see, we are safe.”

“You know, you’re a really smart 13 year old.”

“I know. Now let’s go eat. I’m hungry!!!”

“Ok.”

CHAPTER FOUR
As Will and I were walking to the river, I heard a noise just around the bushes.

“Hey Will, do you hear that?”

“Hear what?”

“That noise. It’s behind the bushes. Over there,”

“No, but I’ll go and check it out. Ok?”

“Ok. Be careful.”

“Hey Lexi, come here. Look what I found.”

“Ok?”

“There’s a door.”

And there was a door. It stood out because there was no wall, just the door. Will went over to the door and turned the knob. Nothing happened.

“Will. Look at the tree. It’s got a key on it. Maybe it’s for the door.”

He went over to the tree and got the key. Sure enough it fit perfectly. The mysterious, ice blue door creaked open slowly as we pushed it open. Looking into the door there was nothing but clean sweet grass. And it seemed there was a force field around the doors insides so when you were in you would be safe. It was odd, but we decided to keep the key until later. Maybe we would need it.

CHAPTER FIVE
Walking back to the house I decided I was right to keep the key. Maybe we would need to go there one day when Will, Xavier and Trey weren’t enough. I could keep us safe while they helped us get there. Yeah. That would work.

Right before I was almost asleep Will whispered in my ear,

“Lexi? What cha thinkin bout?”

“Oh nothing.”

“Yeah you are. I can see it on your face.”

“Well, just thinkin how I could keep us safe if someone or something was stronger than you, Xavier and Trey.”

“And how do you suppose you do that?”

“Well, I was thinking about the key, and I decided that we would go in there, so….”

“Did you ever think that there might be something in there that is more dangerous than the stuff out here?”

“Well, I did actually so I was counter arguing with myself”

“That’s why you were so deep in thought. Oh. So what did you decide on?”

“I didn’t yet.”

“Well, I don’t want you going in there without me to protect you so, you can forget about it for now.” And with out warning he kissed me.

CHAPTER SIX
The morning after our conversation Will asked me if his point was made clear, and I told him yes, that he didn’t need to worry. I wouldn’t go into the door without him. That he knew of at least. And he seemed to have believed me so I dropped it for now.

Later Lia and I were walking through the woods again and I went to show her the door but, it wasn’t there. And what was surprised me.

“Hey Lia? Come here! Fast”

“What is it?”
“I found a basket.”

“What’s in the basket.” as she was walking towards me.

“A puppy, a kitten and a baby!!!”

“Really??”

“Yeah!!! Look around see if you can find anyone, or else we’re gonna keep them.”

“Even the baby? What do you think Will’s gonna say?

“I don’t know, but just make sure no ones here.” And after 30 minutes of looking we decided there was no one there so I picked up the basket and we walked home.

CHAPTER SEVEN
“Lexi, you know we can’t keep the baby.”

“But Will, there was no one there, and we couldn’t just leave it.”

“But Lexi”

“No Will. We are going to keep the baby, and that’s final.”

“But we don’t even have enough food for all of us, and who is gonna take care of the baby? Huh? You? Because I’m not going to.”

“We have food. And yes Will I would take care of her. And you’ll grow to love her. Just wait.”

“So it’s a girl? You know what Lexi. Fine. Keep the baby.”

“Yay!!!!!! And guess what I named her!”

“What?”

“Angel.” He just looked at me and the coldness in his eyes softened to the perfect blue green that I loved.

“Why did you name her Angel?”

“Because she is one.” And we left it at that for the night.

CHAPTER EIGHT
The next morning I announced our new additions to the family. Melody and Sammy kept the kitten and Mackenzi and Max kept the puppy. Then I announced that Will and I would be keeping the baby. Mackenzi stared at me in horror.
“You and Will are keeping the baby? I don’t think that’s such a good idea. I mean love you and all, but you guys were arguing over her just last night. We could
