Hi. My name is Jazmine. I am 11 years old with blonde hair, white skin, and silver eyes. Ever since I was five I wanted a spirit animal of my own and today was the day after my birthday. That means I can have ceremony to drink the nectar to summon a spirit animal.
I grabbed my silk dress that was the color of silver and heels that is made of pure silver and then put them on. Then I brushed my hair and then my maid curled my hair and put on my tiara for me. Right after I rushed out my room and found my mom right in front of the door,¨Where are you going so early in your second finest clothing?¨ she asked. My mom is Scarab of Wanalee.¨Oh I thought you knew. Today is my ceremony remember.¨I said. ¨No your not, you're not drinking that nectar stuff!¨ she said as mad as a lion. “But I don't want to get ill. No natural way, the present way is for me.” I said trying to get past. “No it’s not all your ancestors did it naturally without nectar like me.”she said proudly. Now change into your silk red dress and your red heels. Instead of doing it we’re watching it.
I went in my room and changed into the clothes my mom told me to. When we got to the ceremony there was 5 kids that is going to drink the nectar. The last kid was a boy and the only one who summoned a spirit animal. The boy summoned a coyote. It had blood red eyes with shiny black fur. “Wouldn’t it be nice that I would get a coyote like that if I drank the nectar. It would be quit quik too.” I said smiling. ¨You can do it without nectar. Besides, you could get a beautiful koala or monkey.¨ she said. My smile disappeared. After I told my mom, “Mom, I will be congratulating the kid who got a spirit.” “No you will not. As your mother I band you from congratulating a kid who drank the nectar.” she said as mad as a tiger.
At dinner I messed with my food while watching my mom’s spirit animal, which was a owl, who was tearing apart and eating bit by bit of his raw fish. After dinner I went outside to play with my best friend George. George was 11 just like me but has a spirit animal. It was a bald eagle.
“My mom wont let me have a ceremony so I can drink the nectar.” I said to George while I was kicking rocks. We were at the Alkanime Park. “It’s okay, I bet you’ll find a way to have one.” GEorge said calmly. “I hope you’re right.” I said as worried as a deer all alone or a puppy about to have a shot.
“ you’ll have the nectar! But if you don’t I bet you will be fine.” he said patting my back. “I better go, I don’t want my mom to find me with you. She’ll know you’re 11 and that you had the nectar.” I said worried.
The next day I heard my mom fighting with Salloon, a greencloak, “Your daughter needs to drink the nectar!” Salloon said. “No she will not, she has blood of people who survived summoning spirit animals without nectar.” my mom said. “She also has greencloak and people who drank the nectar.” Salloon said. “Greencloak blood?” I whispered to myself. “No, no, no, no! WE don’t talk about that part of the family mom. Jazmine is in the castle.” my mom said terrified. “ Mom?” I wondered. I opened my door and they both looked at me. “Okay that’s it! What do you mean by greencloak blood?! And mom what do you mean by mom?!” I said loudly and upsetley. “Fine you win. Salloon is your grandma and on her side they drank netar and on your grandpa’s side they didn’t.” my mom said calmly and broken. A minute later I fell unconscious.
After I woke up at Sunset Tower Hospital. “What’s going on and where is mom?!” I said alarmed. “Calm down Jazmine. You’re fine and your mom put you in my care.” she said as calm as a kitten sleeping. Then She showed me my silver heels and my silver color dress. I was astonished. “Tomorrow you are having a ceremony here and I will be doing it around a whole bunch of Greencloaks.” she said happily. “But now put on your yellow dress and heels and get home.” she said. “Wait, this home or home home.” I said confused. “This is your new home home Jazmine. You will grow into a greencloak in greencloaks care. My friends will help care for you.” she sad joyfully. I got dressed right away and then got signed out of the hospital. Then I met up with my grandma and then she showed me my room. It was awesome! “It’s for you darling, and it will say your room if you summon a spirit animal. If not you will go back to your mom.” Salloon said. I put my suitcase into my new closet. “I promise I will.” I said sincerely. She closed the door and I fell on to my bed happily. Tomorrow is my special day. MY special day.
The next day I woke up at 7:00. I put on my silver heels and dress and started to run. Then I got there. My grandma was standing near a big tree. The tree was not receivable. WAs it a tree with fruit that they made the nectar with? The people started to surround us. I got to my knees looking at them. My grandma showed me the nectar. I grabbed quickly and took a sip then a bit more then gave it back knowing it took a good amount of time to make it. I tasted exactly like fresh apple cider. Then it got really hot, desert hot, I was drenched in sweat in seconds. Then I saw orange behind a bush. Then it was at normal temperature. Then I looked up to see if I got a bird. Then I looked down. There it was, a tiger, a beautiful tiger with sky blue eyes. My grandma had a huge grin on her face. I know I promised her I would summon one. But never a tiger. My grandma showed me a silk green cloak and put it on me. The crowd cheered. I was a greencloak. I was so happy. My new life is here, new life is here.
