Read FICTION books online

Reading books fiction Have you ever thought about what fiction is? Probably, such a question may seem surprising: and so everything is clear. Every person throughout his life has to repeatedly create the works he needs for specific purposes - statements, autobiographies, dictations - using not gypsum or clay, not musical notes, not paints, but just a word. At the same time, almost every person will be very surprised if he is told that he thereby created a work of fiction, which is very different from visual art, music and sculpture making. However, everyone understands that a student's essay or dictation is fundamentally different from novels, short stories, news that are created by professional writers. In the works of professionals there is the most important difference - excogitation. But, oddly enough, in a school literature course, you don’t realize the full power of fiction. ONE

The syringe pierced cold flesh and she gently pressed on the plunger, all the while looking nervously at the glazed over eyes for shades of change.

The blinking began almost at once and the magic happened again for a hundreth time, making her heart pound and the blood beat painfully against the confines of her temples.

Animation came to the bewrinkled but beautiful face as it turned to look at her, recognition dawned and words emerged, "My child, I scared you again, didn't I?"

"Oh Grandma! Hush!", she blinked away tears and fought the urge to hug the darling diabetic.

TWO

She moved the queen four paces left and looked at him.

Same game. Six years. Same stakes.

Her win meant status quo, his win: matrimony. She wondered if he still wanted it after six years or had there been an inversion of hearts.

He made his move. She looked, made hers, not caring. She wished she could sabotage her ego and save her soul, throw a game, call his bluff. It would be interesting. "CHECKMATE!"

Blue eyes twinkled, lips smiled and the hand brought out a velvet box, "Tomorrow?"

She couldn't trust herself to speak, so she just nodded instead.

THREE

He felt tired, defeated after seven years of this Misery

. But through the White Noise

of her abuse he suddenly felt strange stirrings of Rebellion

.

He closed his eyes and dreamed of Freedom

.He could see Amber's beautiful face smiling at him as she did at the office, radiating gentle love, filling him with a masculine confidence his wife's bullying had emasculated him of.

He rose from the couch, got his coat off the hanger. The Noise

paused, shocked by the Defiance

.He took the house key off the keychain and threw it across to the Noise

.

Silence.

He left.
