Chapter 1: Penny Emerald
I hate it in this horrible place! It's like a sewer. It smells horrible and it is horrible! For all I know it could taste horrible! I know it doesn't make sense, but how else am I supposed to insult this place? I can't say bad words because it makes me feel icky if I do. So I guess I have to describe this place for you. Well, it is the same thing as a town street. It looks like a busy street filled with a lot of people and there are shops lining either side of the street. So one wouldn't really call it street you would actually call it a sort of walkway, sidewalk, or sidestreet. I work there because my poor daddy can't afford to feed the both of us so the goverment took me away from my daddy to pay for his debt. Can you believe it? Me ? A poor farm girl, age 12, brownish blondish and braided hair. I look rather pretty with long eyelashes and grey blue like eyes. I have a rather pink sharp nose. My mouth is curved inward with rather in the middle lips, in shape. It has been covered with red lipstick, my braid has been unbraided, and I am wearing a beautiful, red, long, and elegant dress. I am dressed like this to attract customers into this shop. It's a shop for necklaces. I am wearing one of there necklaces as well. It's ruby red and the woman who owns the shop told me that just because because I am the beautifulest 12 year old girl in the whole town I don't deserve to wear this necklace. She told me that if I scratched the necklace even once she would hire someone else and fire me forever.
