Read FICTION books online

Reading books fiction Have you ever thought about what fiction is? Probably, such a question may seem surprising: and so everything is clear. Every person throughout his life has to repeatedly create the works he needs for specific purposes - statements, autobiographies, dictations - using not gypsum or clay, not musical notes, not paints, but just a word. At the same time, almost every person will be very surprised if he is told that he thereby created a work of fiction, which is very different from visual art, music and sculpture making. However, everyone understands that a student's essay or dictation is fundamentally different from novels, short stories, news that are created by professional writers. In the works of professionals there is the most important difference - excogitation. But, oddly enough, in a school literature course, you don’t realize the full power of fiction. What I Was Then

For people to truly understand who I am now, they have to first under stand who I was then. I was the party pooper, goody two shoes, quite girl. People didn't even know my name, at least, not most of the time. But what I know now, and knew then are vastly different ways I saw the world. What your about to read is the day I graduated my high school then, later on how I changed in college. This is my story.

~*~

I could feel the excitement on the air, traveling in waves from every person that walked past me in the loud cramped hallways. Everyone was shuffling forward, towards the hot, stuffy gym. People took there places, waiting for the dreary speeches to be done with, so that they could finally be out of this hellhole of a school. They called names, people cheered, and then, Finally I heard my name.
"Hope Winterberry," The principles dull, mono-tone voice called. As I took the first steps toward freedom, there was a vastly different reaction from the crowd. Sure they cheered, but for who? They didn't know. You could tell by the way it was mostly polite clapping; save the few people I called family. I tugged at the robs uncomfortably scratchy material and finally made my way over.
"Congratulations, Miss Winterberry," Principle Pike politely said, he had a vaguely surprised look on his face. He most likely didn't know who I was. Almost no one did.
The rest of the day went by in a haze and by the end I was super tired. My family begged me to go out to dinner, but I declined the offer, claiming that I felt ill.
