Have you ever thought about what fiction is? Probably, such a question may seem surprising: and so everything is clear. Every person throughout his life has to repeatedly create the works he needs for specific purposes - statements, autobiographies, dictations - using not gypsum or clay, not musical notes, not paints, but just a word. At the same time, almost every person will be very surprised if he is told that he thereby created a work of fiction, which is very different from visual art, music and sculpture making. However, everyone understands that a student's essay or dictation is fundamentally different from novels, short stories, news that are created by professional writers. In the works of professionals there is the most important difference - excogitation. But, oddly enough, in a school literature course, you donât realize the full power of fiction. hand threw her long black hair. âWho knows? It was just a bunch of nothing.â I flushed and turned to glare at them. âCould we please stop talking about what I was talking about? Itâs my dream, my head, keep out,â I snapped. They all stared at me and I turned away, fixing myself toast. âCome now Luna, what did she say?â Dad asked, unashamed. I whirled and said âReally Dad?â Dad didnât look up at me, he stared intently at Luna and Luna looked back, like they were having a private one way conversation. I growled uselessly and stomped out of the kitchen, no longer hungry. I sat on the porch angry but was curious so I listened intently to their conversation. âShe mostly just mumbled about being scared of losing something. She said âIâm scaredâ but I didnât know what to make of it,â Luna mumbled. âHmm, what is it that sheâs afraid of?â Mom asked herself. âWhat else did she say Luna?â Dad asked. Luna thought for a minute then said âNot much else really, but she did make a lot of weird noises like she was crying or somethingâŠit was really confusing,â Luna said, trailing off. I stared at the gravel beneath my shoes and thought back to my dream. I couldnât have said any of that; Luna mustâve lied. My dream had been perfect, everything Iâd ever wanted. Jacob and I, alone somewhere far from everyone and we were perfectly happy. âWhere would you like to go Renesmee,â Jacob had whispered and kissed my swollen belly. I stroked my belly and said âI think the baby hates the heatâŠmaybe back to forks? Itâs a lot cooler over thereâŠand we can see Charlie and Billy a lot sooner.â Jacob nodded and said âIf you want.â And then there we were, Forks. We met Charlie and Billy and they were both very excited. Even though I couldnât see my toes, the pain in my back always got worse and my ankles swelled; I loved every moment of it. The whole time I was pregnant, I didnât complain. Who could when this was all you wanted, and thatâs as far as I got, and I felt so happy. Good thing Dad was distracted, otherwise he wouldâve heard me and he wouldâve been all âLove, please think of other things,â and what not. Luna and I pulled into the school parking lot and parked. âWell, I guess this is where we part,â Luna said with a sigh. I turned to her and said âYouâre suspended.â Luna nodded with a grin. I sighed and rolled my eyes. âSee you later,â I said and threw the keys at her. I walked toward the double doors, into the school and down the hall to my locker and grinned when I saw Blake leaning against it. âHey,â I said as I opened my locker. Blake grinned and said âHey.â I rummaged for a bit finding my homework and books and when I found it, stuffed into my book bag. âMind if I walk you to class?â Blake asked. I hesitated; already? Blake grinned down at me and said âIâm just walking you to class, thatâs it.â I sighed and said âSure,â and started walking to class. When we got to class I turned to Blake and said âThanks for the walk,â and smiled. Blake grinned back and said âMy pleasure.â The minute bell rang. âGotta get going, see you at Masonâs?â Blake asked, taking a step back toward his class. I smiled and said âYeah, see you then,â and watched Blake walk into class. School passed by the same. Blake and I joked and had fun, classes went by smoothly, and now it was time to go home. I was turning the corner of the school building where I had parked when a figure stepped out; I froze. âHey Renesmee,â Ashton said as he flipped his black hair from his red eyes. I stared at him. âWhy are you here?â I asked throwing a glance toward the emptying parking lot, making sure no one else was approaching. Ashton leaned against the brick wall and said âJust wanted to know where my sister was.â I took a deep breath and said âWell sheâs with me, now leave.â He looked up at me with those red eyes and grinned slightly. âGuess she already told you,â he said, grinning even deeper. It made me sick knowing that he could still smile after what heâd done. âYeah she did, but she didnât have to for me to be able to smell the blood,â I spat. He lifted something, a piece of a shirt, and inhaled deeply. He smiled as my stomach lurched; the shirt of a girl heâd killed. I stared at him and said âLeave, or youâll regret it,â and walked past him. His arm came out and blocked my way. My nostrils flared. âGet your arm out of my way,â I hissed. Ashton kept it there and grinned at me. âYou know, Iâve always liked you, soâŠdangerously sexy,â and leaned in closer to me. âIf you want to keep that arm of yours, get it out of my fucking face,â I hissed, baring my teeth. Ashton grinned even deeper and leaned even closer so that we were now an inch apart. I could smell the blood from his breath. âI donât know what I want more, your blood or your body,â Ashton whispered. âHow about never, you fucking loser,â I said sourly. I knew I could probably smash his face into the wall hard enough that his face might crack, but I knew I wasnât strong enough to kill him if I had too, curse my human side, and I didnât know how I was going to keep this quiet, although there werenât many witnesses left. He chuckled and licked his lips. âCome on, you get to choose,â Ashton said, like I was a willing participant. âLike I said jerk-off, never,â I hissed. Ashton laughed but then a speculative look came into his eyes. âMaybe bothâŠâ looked me up and down and said âYeah, definitely both,â and leaned in so now our noses were touching. âGo ahead,â I said indifferently and looked away. I hoped Aunt Alice was seeing this. He grinned and leaned in closer and sniffed my hair. âIâve never tasted a half breedâs blood before,â Ashton whispered brushing my hair aside. âAshton,â a furious voice screeched. Ashton and I looked up at the same time and saw Luna six feet away, glaring furiously at Ashton. Ashton smiled and took a step back from me. âHey Luna,â Ashton greeted lightly. âWhat the hell are you doing?â Luna hissed. âJust talking to Renesmee, we were just gonna leave and head back to our house,â Ashton joked. Luna darted to my side and said âLetâs go Renesmee,â and tugged on my arm. We started walking but then something pulled hard against me. I looked back, startled, and glared when I saw Ashton holding my arm. âYouâre not leaving until I say so,â Ashton whispered menacingly. âLet. Go. Of. Me,â I growled. âAshton! Leave her alone!â Luna hissed. In a blink of an eye, Ashton had kicked Luna and sent her flying into the green forest. âLuna!â I shouted and tried to run to her but suddenly I was face down on the floor. âDonât move Princess or ill snap your arm in half,â Ashton whispered in my ear and tightened his grip on my arm. I gritted my teeth as my bone protested. So softly that I hadnât even noticed, Ashton swept my hair from my neck. I turned my head and looked into Ashtonâs eyes and saw what he was about to do. âNo!â I shouted and tried to move out of the hopeless position I was in. âNo, no, no!â I thought. I squirmed but didnât move an inch, Ashton was too strong. Ashton leaned down and lightly kissed my hickey. âA love mark I see,â Ashton whispered against my neck. I shivered with disgust and shook my head. âDonât worry, Iâll make it quick, I wouldnât want you to be in pain,â Ashton whispered as I shuddered hearing his fangs slide out. âNo,â was all I could think. If he bit me, I was dead. I wouldnât get a chance to live. âPlease, not today, not now,â I prayed with all my might as I heard Ashton move in to send me to my death. Suddenly I heard a howl and the crushing weight of Ashton disappeared. I waited for the pain, the agony to make me want to die but felt nothing, nothing at all. As things became clearer, I could hear things, several loud beating hearts, and a woodsy smell. Jacob. I could also hear hissing and smelt the sweet scent of my family. I looked up and saw the red-brown of the wolf I loved, standing in front of me, guarding me from danger. Furious snarls escaped Jacobâs mouth as the pack circled Ashton. âJacob,â I choked out, finally finding my voice. Jacob turned then and curled on the floor right next to me and looked at me like he was so happy to see me. I looked up and saw that my family had made a wall in front of Jacob and I. Everyone and when I say everyone, I meant everyone, glared at Ashton with hateful eyes. Mom and Dad were half crouched, ready to pounce, and hissing. Ashton, in the eye of the wolves, looked startled and unprepared. Ashton eyed the wolves with disgust and hissed when the circling wolves closed the distance and came much too close for comfort. The wolves made a rumble as if they were laughing. Ashton took a daring swipe at Paul, which Paul quickly dodged and came in with his own attack. Paul darted back into place with Ashtonâs hand. Ashton screamed in agony and instinctively tried to attack Paul; big mistake. Ashton was fast, but Mom and Dad were faster. Dad had Ashton on the ground while Mom got a good grip on Ashtonâs arm and started to heave when Lunaâs piercing scream made us all freeze. âStop!â Luna shrieked and ran through all the wolves to stop a foot away from Mom and Dad. âPlease,â Luna begged sobbing tearless sobs. Mom and Dad hesitated but then Dad nodded to Mom and they were back in place. Luna bent down and cradled Ashton like he was a baby. âItâs alright Ashton, itâs okay,â Luna whispered as Ashton whimpered and gasped for air; Dad mustâve put a lot of weight on Ashton. Luna looked up at us with sorrow filled eyes and said âIâm sorryâŠhe just canât control himselfâŠâ and looked down at Ashton who now looked afraid. Paul threw Ashtonâs hand back and growled as if to say âYouâre lucky Iâm feeling nice.â Luna quickly grabbed Ashtonâs hand and gave it to him. âI suggest you leave immediately, and heed this warning, lay another hand on my daughter again and I will finish the job,â Mom snarled, glaring at Ashton. Hearing mom snarl like that gave me goose bumps. Ashton quickly nodded, removed himself from Lunaâs arm and ran off into the forest without so much as a thank you to his sister who just saved his life. Luna sat on the ground staring at the spot where Ashton had disappeared. She turned back to us with such a hopeless look, my heart broke. Luna tried to smile but couldnât, the right side of her beautiful face was cracked. âSorry Nessie,â Luna whispered, and slowly got up but fell onto the ground. âLuna!â I yelled trying to get up but I couldnât find my legs. Grandpa Carlisle was at Lunaâs side and immediately began to work on her. âLie still, I have to close up your face,â Grandpa Carlisle said as he worked on Lunaâs face. Aunt Alice was at Grandpa Carlisleâs side with his medical bag. Jacob barked
