Read FICTION books online

Reading books fiction Have you ever thought about what fiction is? Probably, such a question may seem surprising: and so everything is clear. Every person throughout his life has to repeatedly create the works he needs for specific purposes - statements, autobiographies, dictations - using not gypsum or clay, not musical notes, not paints, but just a word. At the same time, almost every person will be very surprised if he is told that he thereby created a work of fiction, which is very different from visual art, music and sculpture making. However, everyone understands that a student's essay or dictation is fundamentally different from novels, short stories, news that are created by professional writers. In the works of professionals there is the most important difference - excogitation. But, oddly enough, in a school literature course, you don’t realize the full power of fiction. and I could feel his skin heal under my hand. I moved my hand feeling more dizzy.
“What did you do?” he asked.
“I don’t feel well,” I said. I started rocking and almost fell back when Damon’s arms caught me.
“Time for your nap,” he said. He lifted me off the ground and carried me to my room.
“I don’t have time,” I whispered.
“You’re in no position to argue,” he said.
“No, put me down,” I demanded. He stopped walking and starred at me. He set me on my feet and held my waist till I caught my balance. “Megan needs me. And if I am the cost of my sister’s life, I will never forgive myself.”
“I will get Megan. Please stay here,” he begged.
“I can’t. I have to do this,” I said. My hand began glowing as my anger began rising.
“Your glowing,” Damon said. I looked down and smiled.
“I can feel her. She’s calling me. You said that my emotions are tied to this gift. Well, I feel that her life is in danger. The gift is going to take me to her.” I said, smiling.
“That’s dangerous! The gift weakens you!” he yelled.
“Come here,” I said holding out my glowing hand for him to take. He pushed away my hand and wrapped his arms around my waist.
“I hope you know what you’re doing,” he said.
“I am not doing anything,” I said smiling. I looked at my arm that was now becoming transparent. Damon noticed it to. He began to turn transparent too.
“One of us is going to die and I am going to make sure it isn’t you,” he said seriously.
“I am going to die tonight and there is nothing you can do to stop it,” I said. He looked at me like he was about to protest. “In one way or another, I am going to die. The gift is draining me of my life. Pretty soon I won’t know who I am or who you are but it doesn’t matter as long as I know that Megan is safe.”
He stared at me while we slowly disappeared to a faint blue light. After a few seconds we were flying faster than the speed of light. I didn’t say anything and neither did Damon. We stopped moving and became visible again.
“That was cool,” I said pulling away from him but his grip was too tight.
“Look at where we are,” he said.
“It’s an old garden that’s been cleared out,” I said out loud.
“Look at where your standing,” he said. I looked down at a pool of dried blood under my feet.
“This is the place,” I said.
“That was quite an entrance. I didn’t know you had it in you, little brother” a voice behind Damon spoke. Damon turned and pulled me behind him.
“Alexander, there is so much you have to learn” Damon said coldly.
“I don’t believe we have officially met,” he said to me.
“No we haven’t,” I said.
“I’m Alexander,” he said.
“I caught on,” I said. “I believe you have something that I want.”
“She thought you weren’t going to come for her,” he said walking toward us. “She almost looks like you but you have a few features that she lacks. Like your eyes, they don’t have that spark in them. And your lips are so full. Your body is a completely different story.”
“How about a trade. Me for my sister,” I said.
“Do you know what you’re asking for?” he asked.
“No Alexander. I know what you’re asking for,” I said.
“Bring the girl out,” he said looking behind me.
“Yes sir,” I heard a voice behind me say.
“Come here Drucilla,” he demanded. I stepped from behind Damon who reached for my wrist but I pulled away. Alexander’s held his hand out for me and I grabbed it. His hand was still hot as if he was holding father. I hissed at the pain.
“Drucilla!!”Megan’s voice exploded from behind me.
“Go with Damon Megan,” I said to her.
“No!!!” she screamed and ran toward me. Damon caught her halfway there. Alexander’s arm wrapped around my waist tightly.
“Kill them,” he commanded.
“No!!!” I screamed. I flame built in a circle around him. I saw the knife in his jacket and grabbed it. I shove the knife deeply into my own stomach. “If they die, so will I.”
“Don’t kill them!” Alexander yelled. The flames died and I saw Megan running to me. Damon was at my side before her.
“Get her out of here,” I said. He wasn’t listening. He touched the knife that was sticking out of me. I gasped in pain. He grabbed it and yanked it out of me. I cried out loud.
“Hang on Ace,” he said. I couldn’t make out what was happening. I was suddenly in Damon’s arms and he was crying. Megan was there and she was wiping tears from my face. I lifted both of my hand and reached for one of theirs. I squeezed their hand and made mines glow for a second. “What was that? What did you just do?”
I rolled out of his arms and on to the ground. I was losing a lot of blood. I pulled myself on my feet. I put a hand on my wound and held it tight. I turned to face him.
“I sent you guys home,” I said.
“Why?” Megan sobbed.
“I will come back for you Megan,” I told her.
“Your just saying that,” Megan said.
“Trust me,” I said touching her face.
“We have to go Megan,” Damon said coldly.
“Why aren’t you saying something? You love her but you’re not saying anything,” Megan screamed.
“This is out of his power,” I said watching as they became transparent. I turned to Damon and stared at him. He tried to avoid my eyes but I grabbed his face in my hand. He was forced to look me in the eye. He was almost completely gone.
“Keep her safe,” I said. Then a rush of images ran through my head. It was me telling jokes and smiling at a picnic a few months ago. Of me when I stabbed myself in the stomach. The pain in his heart at what I did. The moment he kissed me.
“Will you come save me?” he asked.
“I won’t rest until I do,” I said. I took a weak step back and watched as they disappeared.
“You’re dying aren’t you?” Alexander said from behind me.
“No Alexander. We all are,” I said.
“I can’t let you die,” he said walking up to me.
“Why do you care if I died?” I asked. I walked toward him. “You nearly killed him. I saw you nearly kill him.”
“You do love him?” he asked.
“Of course I do Alexander. I know what was the risk of me coming out here. That’s why I never told him I loved him. That’s why I sent them away.” I said. I stopped in front of him. “How could you? Your own brother?”
“I did it to save him. He was trying to destroy himself. He couldn’t bring himself to reality. He was in love and had your father’s protection yet he wanted to use his own power against himself. I couldn’t let that happen so we fought but it got out of hand. I got out of hand. I burned him. I didn’t want to hurt him.”Alexander said.
“I need some help. I am losing too much blood,” I said.
“Let me help you,” he said grabbing me and laying me on the ground. “Grab my hand, this may burn.” He put his hot hand on the open skin of my stomach. I felt my skin heating and healing while I covered my mouth trying not to scream.
“Thank you,” I said.
“You can stay here for a few days until you can use your powers,” he said stepping back. I shook my head and tried to sit up.
“I have to go now or they will think that I didn’t make it,” I said.
“I understand. Your sister wasn’t suppose to be taken. You were but I couldn’t change that. I didn’t mean for you to get hurt either.”
“Goodbye Alexander,” I said. He reached for my hand, kissed the back of it and he stepped back. I laid on the floor and watched my body blink twice. I closed my eyes and I felt like I was flying again. I opened my eyes and I was in my room. I sat up and slowly got up from my bed.
“Damon! Megan!” I called. I heard footsteps running toward my room and Megan was there with Damon right behind her. “No hug for the hero?”
“Drucilla!!” Megan said running to my side. “I was so worried.”
“Relax Kiddo,” I said.
“I will leave you two alone,” Megan said leaving the room. I sat down on the bed and patted the space next to me. He walked up to my bed and sat next to me.
“You scared me. I thought I was going to lose you,” he mumbled.
“I saw those flames and reacted without thinking. It was stupid,” I said.
“Yes it was,” he said looking at me.
“I’m sorry Damon,” I said.
“I love you Ace,” he said.
“I love you too,” I replied. His eyes opened in shock. I leaned in to kiss him and he met me halfway. He placed his hand on my waist and held me there. He pulled out of the kiss and pulled me gently on his lap. He cradled me and rocked me.
“Ace, what happened to Alexander?” he asked me.
“He got away,” I said. “But it’s fine. He saved me for you.”
“What do you mean?” he asked.
“He healed my wound,” I said. He lifted my shirt and ran his hand across the scar on my stomach. He kissed my cheek and held me close.
“If you could have anything in the world right now, what would it be?” Damon asked.
“I would really like another kiss,” I said looking up at him. He smiled at me.
“I meant food wise but that’ll work,” he said chuckling. He bent down and kissed me softly on the lips. He tried to pulled away but I grabbed him by the shirt and kissed him more aggressively. I felt him smiling on my lips. My hands were glowing and the next thing I know we were in his room on his floor.
“Why are we in here?” he asked.
“Because I have never seen you room,” I said.
“Well this is it,” he said pulling me from off the floor. I tried standing straight but it hurt too much. I looked around at the big room. There were drawings everywhere. There was one with an angel being hit by lightning. The one next to it was a woman in a cloak rising out of water. The one other that one caught my eye. It was the same angel that got hit by lightning holding a women body. The women body looked lifeless and the angel seemed really depressed. It was the biggest picture there.
“I had no idea,” I said starring at the pictures.
“I want to show you the best one,” he said. He reached behind me a pulled a sketchbook from off the dresser. He flipped it over to the recent drawing. It was me and it looked like I was sleeping.
“Wow. I look so peaceful,” I said running a finger down the page, careful not to make it smudge.
“You’re always peaceful in your sleep,” he said.
“You watch me when I sleep?” I asked.
“No, but you keep falling asleep on the couch so I take you to your room,” he chuckled.
“Oh, I was
