âUmâŠ.Okayâ I say trying to take this all in.
âAnd I am putting you on a new assignmentâ now this was my kind of thing, I cracked my knuckles Eager to find out.
âAbout what?â I ask as I take a cup of coffee from Cincia
âAbout all those girls who have gone missing, Iâm sure you have heard about this, oui (Yes)?â who hasnât its been on the news for the past 3 weeks and dad thinks that the Vincent family have something to do with it because each of these girls had some sort of connection with the Vincent family and the older girls knew the hunter from their family,Arhine.
âYes, but I thought Vicky and her team were on it?â I say, my voice filled with confusion
âNoir, Alex, Vicky and Charlie are the only ones who made it back and they are in the hospital recoveringâ
âSo you want me and my team to finish off this caseâ I say, already knowing the answer
âYes and you will be taking Xavier with youâ What!! I have to take MR.Tweedle Dumb with me! Oh great can things get any better? But all I said was
âYes fatherâ
âOh yes, I almost forgot, you will also be in charge of looking out for that girlâ seriously he really needs to emphasize the word girl? âBecause I think where she is thought to be from has mainly been targeted for the kidnapsâ I role my eyes
âWhat has she got to do with this caseâ I ask even though I couldnât care less
"She has everything to do with this caseâ
âWhich is what exactly?â I ask getting slightly pissed at him for trying to test my patience
"You will find out sooner or later but for now this is nothing for you to concern yourself withâ
âYeah right its not my concernâ I mutter to myself, I walked towards the door whenâŠ.
âXanderâ my father beckoned me back. I turned around for him to tell meâŠ.
âAs a part of this case and since you will be leading it as well as your team, you will need to join the local school from where most of the girls went to if I can remember the name, ah its called Stoneville High School, you need to gather enough information about them so we have enough evidence against the Vincent familyâ he says then dismisses me before I can even protest. I leave my coffee there because it doesnât taste like coffee no more, more like puke.
Seriously I have to start a new school just because of some damn missing girls report. I already hate school enough so thinking about another would be too much.
I didnât realise that I was out of the building when I felt autumnâs cool breeze touched my face and neck revealing my birthmark., it was the shape of hells fire wrapped around an angels sword thats what mom would tell me when i was little.. I was walking towards my car, thatâs when I say it running, I couldnât see what it was at first but as that thing got closer and closer, my hand hovered over the gun that I keep with me, that thing was running towards me but not for me because it was running away from something, I wouldnât have noticed if it wasnât for that knife she had dodged which found its way to my arm, damn that kills, What even supernatural beings can feel pain yah know! I canât believe it itâs that girl, Arhine! She was saying something, was she calling for help? I watched her as she was running towards me and behind her I could see why she was running away and jeez I donât blame her! They are soo ugly they look like they bathe in ash, black slits as eyes, tongues that looked like a snakes and it even flicking in and out like one, they are all wearing black, they have cuts and bruises and each one of them are carrying a weapon.
Arhine was only 10 feet away from me when I could actually hear what she was saying
âRun, you vos plennus humana (Stupid human)â hey that hurt âRun, Run back to your kind otherwise you will be getting some nightmares that even mommy and daddy canât scare awayâ okay she just hit a nerve. Instead of running away, I ran towards her when out of nowhere when one of those things got in between the two of us but before I knew it Arhine pounced onto it and decapitated it. There was another one coming so I did what I could do, got out my gun and shot at it until it burst into flames. Somehow Arhine killed half of those creature and was standing next to me.
âGreat just what I needed! Damn you daemonsâ she mutters to herself.
âGreat theyâre demons, just want to add anything to my list of âmy life sucksââ I muttered to myself while staring at one of them but for some reason Arhine was just staring at me like I was a piece of artwork she didnât know how to decipher. The last remaining demon jumped at her but couldnât see properly but she kicked it square in the heart and while it flung away she threw fireball at it and it burst into flames and disintegrated.
chapter 3 'You do know that 'Outhouse' means toilet...Right?'I was still throwing fire balls into thin air when I felt someone touch my arm and lower it
"Let me go" I cried breathlessly, struggling to get out of its powerful grip
"Fine but not until you stop attacking thin air, you idiot" it said, I turned my head to look into the eyes of a green eyed god! My face was inches away from its own when reality found its way back to me. I wasn't looking into the eyes of a green eyed god but Xander Cassopian Blake, my enemy. I took one step back, then another and another and another, I only stopped when I thought I was at a safe distance.
"Arhine, why on earth are you still here?" he asked
"What I do and do not do is nothing you should be concerning yourself with" telling myself to mentally calm down and taking slow deep breaths.
"You're bleeding, Arhine, so maybe I shouldn't give a damn because you're my enemy but I do, so live with it" he says. I look down to see my arm and thigh covered in blood.
