āWhy wasnāt your name ever mentioned when there are myths about all other creaturesā¦?ā I asked. āItās because we are successfully able to keep ourselves hidden all these yearsā¦ā āYou really are more humanish apart from your dazzling beautyā¦āI said. Ron grinned mischievously. āWe live like humans in every way except for our age factorā¦ā āAge factorā¦?ā I asked.
āWe live foreverā¦ā āWhatā¦?ā I shouted. āYou heard it rightā¦ā Alan said. āYou mean forā¦everā¦ā I asked wide mouthed.
āBoyā¦You have long life aheadā¦ā I said laughing. āItās coolā¦ā I said. āItās not at all coolā¦āAlan said nodding his head ānoā āWhyā¦?ā I asked. āBelieve meā¦ after living for hundred yearsā¦you would say the same thingā¦ā Alan said.
āI thought you are 17ā¦ā I smirked. āWe are in human terms butā¦ in our terms we are like 135 or something aroundā¦ā Alan said. āWhatā¦?ā I stammered. āOh my god!ā I said snapping my head with the back of my hand.
Ron chuckled. āDo you have a problem to date with a hundred year old manā¦?āRon chuckled. āYou donāt look like a year over 17 so itās not a problemā¦ā I chuckled. āThanksā¦āhe said. āWaitā¦Are you really askingā¦ā I asked. āHeyā¦donāt say no nowā¦You have already said āyesāā¦ā Ron chuckled.
āRonā¦ā Alan made a silent conversation with him through mind linkā¦ Ron walked me to my room.
āRonā¦I think she is hiding something from usā¦āAlan said rubbing his chin in deep thought. āDonāt you think she took it too well about all thisā¦?ā Alan asked. āShe said the reason and I think it is perfect.
āRonā¦I have a feeling that she is hiding somethingā¦ I tried to reach into her mind and itās blankā¦ I think she knew about the magical world even before usā¦?ā Alan asked.
āThat might explain why she took it so well without freaking outā¦ā Ron said rubbing his chin in deep thought. āButā¦how did she knowā¦?ā Ron thought out loud. āI think this has something to do with the reason why we are sent hereā¦āAlan said.
I thought knowing their secret would make Alan open up but He was as cold as he used to be. He never spoke until he was spoken to even then his replies were curt.
āWhere were you this weekendā¦You promised to come homeā¦ā Amy sulked. āI was ill and had to take restā¦ā I replied. Amy knew that Rose was lyingā¦She had Nick sent over to her house to check on her. āWhat could she possibly be hiding from me? Itās not like her to keep secrets from me. Well, may be she would tell me later when we are aloneā¦āAmy thought.
Beck declared cold war against me for bailing out on them. Itās no use trying to patch up with herā¦I know that she would be back to normal in no timeā¦ It turned out that Eddy was sick and he didnāt go too. I left them taking the excuse of submitting assignment.
āHeyā¦Where were you at lunch?ā I asked Ron as he settled beside for Mathās hourā¦ āMomā¦ wants me to check the school groundsā¦She sensed something wrongā¦ā He said.
āWhat do you mean by senseā¦? āI frowned. āThe females of our kind had powers to sense things when something goes wrongā¦āhe smiled. āWow! Guess they are more powerful than the malesā¦ā I said.
āNoā¦That is the only power they haveā¦ they are as normal as humansā¦Thatās why they are an easier target if anyone wanted to kill usā¦ā
That doesnāt make any senseā¦ I thought a while about the statement when he answered for me seeing me confused.
āWe Dark knights are invincibleā¦ we couldnāt be killed by silver or a wooden stakeā¦The only way to kill us is killing our mateā¦ We make a special bond when we love a person that kind of bond leaves a strong impression on bothā¦Itās like she is our other halfā¦Whatever I feel she can feel the sameā¦she can sense me and feel all the emotions that I feelā¦ Kind of soul mate stuffā¦ the thing when they kill our mate, we become more like zombiesā¦ā He said.
āIf it is the female that needs more protection then why are they powerlessā¦.?ā I thought out loud. āWe donāt decide anythingā¦It just happensā¦āRon chuckled.
āDid Alan lost his mateā¦?ā I blurted out. āDo you think he looks like a zombieā¦?ā Ron chuckled. āHe is always cold and void of any emotionsā¦ā I said. āNoā¦there is another reason for him to be like thatā¦ā Ron said.
āWhat would that beā¦?ā I smirked. āThere is a story about our beginningsā¦ People say that our fore fathers bargained their soul for greater powers and immortalityā¦ Alan believes in all that crapā¦ He thinks he is soulless and dark creatures like all other creatures of nightā¦ā
āI donāt think you areā¦ You never drink blood of people or turn into a beast at nightsā¦ā I said a bit too loud. Mr. Wilson gestured us to be silent. Ron smiled.
āYou donāt know half the things we can doā¦āRon said his face grimā¦ āWhateverā¦ I still believe you are goodā¦ā I said determined.
āRoseā¦I think you should move to my houseā¦We are not sure if that place is going to be safe for you anymoreā¦ā Ron said eyes on the blackboard.
āI really would like too but I need to go homeā¦ā I said. āNoā¦You are not being alone from now onwardsā¦ā He hissed.
āI will be safe in my houseā¦I have my house well protectedā¦ā I said with a stern look. Ron looked dubiousā¦ āI know that they wouldnāt attack me at least for a while since they saw you with meā¦āI replied quicklyā¦
I knew Ron isnāt convincedā¦My stupid, big mouthā¦I should be more careful around them when I talkā¦I canāt let them into my secret until I know them for sure.
āRonā¦I know you are hereā¦ā I said out loud into the night sky as I finished up my duty and walked to the carā¦ I thought I managed to convince Ron from leaving me alone but I felt his presence all the timeā¦
āIām sorry I couldnāt leave you aloneā¦āRon said emerging from the treesā¦ āAre you a full time stalkerā¦?ā I humored. He shrugged his shouldersā¦āI guess I canāt get rid of youā¦ā He smiled knowing that I had given up completely fighting gor my freedom.
āIāll drive you homeā¦āhe said snatching the keys away from my hand. āNoā¦āI said. He was in the car starting the engine before I could say anythingā¦ I cursed him while padded to the passenger seat.
āDo you ever try to listen to what I say?ā I huffed. He mischievously grinned. āDrop that devilish grinā¦āI snapped him.
āDoes that trouble your heart so muchā¦?ā He smirked. āI donāt think that you have that charm in youā¦ā He acted as if his feelings were hurt.
āWhen do you want to go outā¦? I mean on dateā¦āRon asked as he tried the keys in. āWhat forā¦? Itās not like you need a date to be with meā¦ā I said.
āAre you going to stay for the nightā¦?āI asked. āYou canāt get rid of me that easilyā¦ā he smiled. āYou can use dadās roomā¦ā I pointed to his room and made my way to my room upstairsā¦
āIām fine in your roomā¦ā Ron said smiling sitting on my bed. āButā¦Iām not fineā¦ā I said shoving him out of the room.
I woke up to see slightly snoring in my couch by the bed. āRonā¦āI shrieked at him. āWhat are you doing hereā¦?ā
āThere is no TV. I got bored and I came in to see youā¦ You looked so beautiful when sleeping ā¦ I just stayed here watching you sleepā¦ā He said.
āYou are driving me crazyā¦ā I said biting back the smile that escaped my lipsā¦ I sort of liked his sweet talkā¦
āI have to be ready for schoolā¦Can you please leave nowā¦ā I said.
I smelled something delicious as I walked into the kitchenā¦ āMomā¦sent us breakfastā¦āRon said grinning. Alan set a glass of juice in front meā¦ ā Good morningā¦āI greeted him. He nodded his head and left.
āWhat are they doing hereā¦?āAmy asked as she eyed us all three coming out of my home. āThey just dropped in to get my notesā¦āI lied.
She looked at me dubiouslyā¦ I drove with Amy so that I wouldnāt hurt her feelingsā¦ āWho is itā¦?ā Amy asked me as she droveā¦āWhatā¦?ā I asked confused.
āDonāt act smartā¦you know what Iām askingā¦āAmy looked at me expectantā¦āLet me guessā¦Itās Alanā¦ā She said.
I frowned at herā¦āItās just he seems like your type of guy and he watches over you all the times with so much love and passionā¦ā
Itās so like her to see love and passion in those eyes which are void of any feelingā¦ I laughed. āItās Ronā¦āI said.
āI thought soā¦Alan couldnāt be off your typeā¦ā I laughed out loud and she slapped me.
Alan and Ron stood by the carā¦ Ron was tapping his foot impatientlyā¦ āWhatā¦?ā He eyed Amy nervously. āIāll meet you at lunchā¦ā she said with wary glances at both brothersā¦
āGet inā¦ā He pushed me into the car.... āHeyā¦ā He was behind the wheel in his abnormal speed racing off the road in seconds. āWhere are we going? Itās a school dayā¦āI shouted.
āWhatā¦?ā My heart began to raise as painful memories of that night floodedā¦It was really bad experienceā¦ I shivered at the thought of meeting another one again.
āWhat about othersā¦?ā I croaked. āItās you it is afterā¦ Alan is staying at school; heāll make sure that everyone is safeā¦ā He assured.
āI donāt really get why these people are after youā¦ā Ron hit the wheel in frustrationā¦ May beā¦ I stopped abruptly knowing that Ron could hear my thoughts.
āHelloā¦Mrs. Blakeā¦ā Mrs. Blake enveloped me in her arms. āGood to see you againā¦ā she smiled. āYou came to playā¦?ā Kat padded towards me, hugging my legs. I scooped her up and pecked her. She reminded so much of my little sister; I blinked back the tears that threatened to come out at the fond memories of her.
āDid you find the wolf?ā A middle aged man walked inā¦ he looked so much like Alan. āAlan is watching overā¦ā Ron replied.
āThis beautiful young lady must be herā¦ā Mr. Blake said casting his alluring smile. I blushed at his flattery.
āDonāt go anywhereā¦Iāll be back soonā¦āRon disappeared outside. āLetās playā¦ā Kat squealed. She showed me to her room which is as big as any other room in this house. She showed me all her dolls, Time passed away soon as little Kat played with her doll houseā¦She let me sit and watchā¦ I laughed at her wild imagination. She is very clever for a girl of her age but she is not a human either.
āKat kept you company, huh?ā Ron said leaning on to the door. I nodded smiling. āBig Alā¦āShe scurried towards Alan and he scooped her up, āRose played with meā¦ā She squeaked. Alan smiled as she told him all the stories that she told me beforeā¦It surprises how she can repeat everything without missing any bit. Alan smiled genuinely for her little pranksā¦ he is totally different with her. I watched
