Amazing Grace
Was her favorite song
And although fate took
Away her ability to hear
With her ears
She heard with her Soul

In her hospital bed
The church choir stopped by
To share their gift of song
She sang along with the words
Memory kept her lips in tune

For a moment she remembered
When she could hear the words
For a moment she sang in perfect unison
As her voice blended with the melody
Carrying their notes to Heaven’s door

So fitting a song
For Amazing she was
To have dealt with all that pain
And yet maintain the strength to smile
And laugh and keep her head up High

What Grace to possess
To overcome each hurdle
Placed in her path
Astonishing all those who
Witnessed her many Miracles

She prayed for those in need
Even in times when she barely
Had enough energy to stand
Within each hand she placed
Her Blessed Rose Petals

Leaving a trail of Faith
For all those she touched
With a sentiment of Compassion
To ease their pain
And rejuvenate their Spirit

How sweet the sound
To live her song
That was her way
That was my Mom
Amazing Grace
