How Many Things Happen in One DayâŠ
âI have a confession to make⊠I love you,â a boy said to me who looked around my age but very young looks. âBut why? I donât even youâ I panicked trying to look at something my eyes scanning around the ground. âBut I know you very wellâ he said looking me straight in the eye âWhat do you know about me?â I asked the boy âMayumi Swada, youâre on the track team, you hate studying⊠you joke around a lot, you live in a huge house. You have 2 older sisters. And ⊠and⊠Everyone in detention idolizes you,â he said but then I interrupted him âThe reason you love me?â I demanded him cause I didnât have enough time for this, âI also think we have a lot in commonâ he said but again I interrupted him âYou have some nerve!â I said but not too loud, he looked down âBut I give you credit, so I wonât turn you down. Iâll just pretend this never happened,â I said patting his shoulder âThank youâ he said bowing his head âOk. Now go!â I said smiling at him. He bowed his head and said, âYes, Maâamâ he turned around to run to catch up with his friends âBetter luck next time!â I yelled as he ran hopefully heâd hear me
âWhy did you turn him, heâs a nice guyâ Kaoto said to me âBecause Mayumi likes the captain of the track teamâ Rienon said to Kaoto. âReally?â Kaoto said surprised I was scared that anyone might hear her âHey! Keep it down!â I pushed Rienonâs shoulder. I glance at my track coach who was coaching some kids âWhat do you see in that Grease ball? Rienon asked me âHeâs coolâ I said smiling at myself âShe goes for the slick-haired old-school typeâ Kaoto said âThatâs him alrightâ I said smiling at him âNo way!â Rienon said laughing at me âYes it is!â I said to her âHeâs going to college on Tokyo you know.â Rienon told me I was quickly shocked by this âWhat? Why Tokyo?â I asked her and she shrugged her shoulders âHow should I know?â she said âA little bird told meâ then she smiled. âYour little bird id usually wrongâ Kaoto said laughing quietly âOn your mark. Set go!â The coach said as we positioned. I smiled as I got in first place the breeze against my skin as the wind blows through my hair, I finished the line, I bent down breathing, trying to catch my breathe I took a glance at my crush who was cheering on some kids.
I sat on the bus with Kaoto and Junko, my other friend who is very close to me. We talked about girl stuff and laughed then my friends had to leave âOkay bye see you soonâ they said and I smiled at them. I was alone on the bus but captain was on here with me. We ride the same bus home.
Lunch With The Family...
I ran inside as I got off the bus âIâm Home!â I yelled through the house as I walked inside âIn here!â I heard a familiar voice I walked into the kitchen and seen my older sister Yukie âYukie? Youâre home?â I asked her as I sat down â Of course, Sachikoâs getting marriedâ she said fixing some plates on the table â But thatâs not until Sunday todayâs Thursdayâ I said âI took a few dayâs off work just to come hereâ she said smiling at me âMayumi go change your clothes!â my mother told me but before I went I spotted something I enjoyed very much âIâm taking a sip of your cokeâ I said reaching over the table grabbing Yukieâs cup I took a drink but when I swallowed it, it was soy sauce âOh my god itâs soy sauceâ I said coughing âThe soy sauce bottle brokeâ Sachiko said âWhy didnât you tell me?â I asked her coughing âBecause you didnât askâ Yukie said laughing at me.
âYuck! I need some tea,â I said reaching over the table to grab the tea as I took a sip out of the tea then the horrible taste went away.
âIâm home!â we heard dad come in âDadâs home, everyone get ready for dinnerâ mom said getting up from the table âYes momâ everyone said.
We sat and ate at the table âDid you meet him already?â Yukie asked me smiling âWho?â I asked her âSachikoâs fiancĂ©â she said taking a bite of her fried rice. I smiled âAh he came over to meet usâ I said looking at Sachiko who was blushing. âWhatâs he like?â Yukie asked me. She didnât have the chance to meet him cause how much she had to work at her new job. âHis face looks like that uni-brown actor!â I said laughing, âI know which one!â Yukie said smiling at me âHe looks like nothing like himâ Sachiko said smiling at us âHowâs workâ mom asked Yukie âMm weâre so busy, I barely have time to do laundryâ she replied back to mom âWhy donât you come back home? You canât be paid very much why did you have to move out?â dad asked Yukie two questions in one sentence ha! Thatâs what I love about dad âI want to be independentâ she said then turning back to her food âWhat about you, Yukie?â mom asked her.
Everyone is just asking her tons of questions since she moved out âWhat?â she said âAny wedding prospects?â mom asked her âI have no interest right now, my job is my lifeâ she said.
âWhatâs your type Mayumi?â Yukie asked me âSomeone tall with good skin, maybe someone olderâ I said then everyone started to smile and laugh âSounds goodâ Yukie said âI think I wantâŠsomeone richâ she said then we laughed again âJust kiddingâ she said
Speaking to my Love
I listened to my history teacher as he talks to us about a man named Jonah of Arc. I felt a soft tap on my shoulder; I turned around to see Rienon holding a paper in front of me âLook at thisâ she said I grabbed the paper âWhat is this?â I asked scanning the paper âItâs a list of girls who are after your sweetheartâ she said then I started to look at the names âWhat? Thereâs so many of them,â I said looking at her then at the paper âWhat do I do?â I asked her âGoing to knock them down one by one?â she asked me, I didnât know the answer to that âBut Iâm not the fighting type,â I said, âYou donât have to fight, bribe them my dear,â she said âSawada, be quiet!â my history teacher said I stood up fast âSorryâ I said.
I rode the bus home alone looking and studying the paper; I put the paper down and turned around in my seat to look at him. His smile was marvelous and his hair always shiny. I have to say he was more than cute.
I took a deep breath as the next stop came and his friends were off the bus. I opened my eyes and walked over to him âCaptainâ I said bowing my head âSwada, I heard you set the new record at the preliminariesâ he said smiling at me which made me blush bad. âYes! It was a breeze,â I said which much power in my voice âThatâs greatâ he said, âI just did what you told me,â I told him. At the beginning of the year, I joined the track team just to see him everyday, when I stepped out of the girlâs locker room I bumped into him. That was very known of me bumping into people. When I bumped into him I quickly said sorry to him as he laughed âAre you here to join the track team?â he asked me and I nodded âHereâs what I did that made me the greatest runner last year just keep runningâ he said then he patted me on the back.
I remembered this story by heartâŠ
âDid I tell you to do something?â he asked me âWhen I joined track, you said, âJust keep on runningââ I said to him. He chuckled a little âDid I really say that?â he asked me âI love it! He doesnât even remember!â I said to myself out loud he began to laugh at me âI canât tell if youâre serious or jokingâ he said looking at me âIâd never joke about something like thatâ I said waving my hand in front of me âMm sit downâ he said and he scooted over so there was room for me. I sat down next to him. We sat in silence, which he was okay with but for me it was awkward I took a glance at his face how his hair is always shiny. The bus stopped and beeped so that I know itâs my stop but I was so distracted his marvelous features âOh isnât this your stop?â he asked me snapping me out my daydreaming.
I gasped and ran towards the door âCaptain! Youâre graduating soonâ I said, âMm yeah, I am,â he said smiling at me. âMay IâŠmay Iâ I kept stuttering, he gave me a
