Sneek out

On a crisp fall evening in late September, my friends and I decided to make plans to sneak out. An abandoned house at the end of my street was our hang out spot, where we would have fun. My younger sibling always knew where we would go when I left. Around 9ish I left my door closed so my parents thought I was sleeping with a note on my door. It said I love you, sorry I’m asleep already. While I was on my way to the house, Cloe, my bestest friend ran into me saying someone was chasing her.  I told her, “ Calm down dude, you're safe with me.” We ran to the house, played games in the loft, watched t.v, and just chilled. It was around 2 am when I started walking home after walking Cloe, but I could’ve sworn there was someone watching me. I ran home, terrified, when I arrived I snuck back in, locked my window and went to bed.

The Murder

Then the next morning, my mom was shouting at the top of her lungs  and ran upstairs to get my dad and I. As soon as I heard what she said I ran downstairs, looked at the television and it was true. My bestest friend was dead in her backyard. “Nooooo it can’t be her, not her!”I said. I couldn’t believe my eyes, I felt heartless. I walked her home last night, what could she possibly be doing in her backyard I thought. My mom told me to drive to her house to see if her parents needed anything, I walked in and they greeted me like never before, I started to ball my eyes out. It wouldn’t be like her to just wander outside of her house in the middle of the night, but she also said someone was chasing her from her house and I did feel like someone was watching me. Does that mean I’m next? I went home questioning the fact if I should tell my parents what we did the night before, would I get in trouble or would everyone question our friend group? Later that day I decided to go for it and tell them. At first they didn’t know what to say so I handed them my phone, told them I was sorry but I didn’t think about what we were doing. We all talked to the cops and told them “ Sorry officer I didn’t see who was after her or who I thought I was feeling watched by, I didn’t mean for any of this to happen.”

The Call

Everyone had left my house about an hour or so later,  and the house phone got a call, it was an old lady saying “ They’re going to get you, you have to run!”. At that point I have never been more scared in my entire life. I was their next victim for no reason. I tried calling my parents and neither of them would answer. Thankfully, I left my phone on when I handed it to them, so they picked up and said “ Really Sarah, what do you need?” I told them to get home as soon as possible because I just got a threatening phone call!  Of course they didn’t believe me at first, but then my mom said “I don’t think she would lie about that Tom.'' They got home and I was in the corner of the kitchen scared to death, because I didn’t wanna have my life end. They helped me off the floor and told me I was protected from all harm inside our home, and I should just go to bed and they’ll make sure everything is locked up.

The Missing Sister

For about a week everything seemed as normal as it could possibly go, I went back to the high school, did my normal self. Except for the fact when I thought everything was normal, my sister disappeared. We went around our neighborhood and city screaming “Mackenzie! Mackenzie! Please come home”. The cops had later told us they found her backpack on the side of the highway leading up to the abandoned house down the street. I wanted to plead guilty for everything, “ I’m sorry mom and dad it’s my fault she is gone, it’s my fault my best friend died and now it’s my fault my sister is missing. I sneak out at night to meet my friends there and I told Kenzie about it and she must’ve wanted to look and someone took her! I’m sorry , I walked Cloe home at night to make sure she was safe. It’s all my fault!!” I yelled. “ I just want my sister back.” I started to sob while my parents comforted me and told me we will get through this together and find your sister.  I was just so angry at myself that night, I ran away. I was around the block when I saw someone just standing in front of the abandoned house with a jacket and a beanie on. I was so interested I was walking more and more towards the house.  This person wouldn’t move, I shouted “Hey are you okay? Excuse me, Hello ?” He started walking towards me and I freaked out and ran back home. After I went home I told them what I saw. The cops went to check it out and my parents told me to go to bed.

The Dream

After a week or so I woke up, I’m in a hospital bed hooked up to all these iv’s. I have been in a coma for about 2 months now, and I don’t remember anything. It was all a dream, and I fell from the loft in my house. I later was corroborating with everyone and told them the story, they told me that they would never let that happen to me. The last thing I remember was waking up to my mom singing happy birthday on January 13, 2012.
