Chapter One

~

All I ever wanted was to have a happy ever after. To have my knight and shining armour rescue me from the evil bad guys. To be swept off my feet by some hunk. To get that one kiss that will change my life forever. But instead I live the reality version of Twilight. With the exception of hot shirtless werewolves, but there are some really smoking hot vampire hunters. Oh, did I mention that I lived in a family of hunters? Yep, messed up isn't it? Well here's my story.

Chapter One:

The New Guy

"Oh my gosh Logan you're killing me!" I whined to my older brother who had me on the ground in an upward push up position with his foot on my back. Everyday before school Logan and I train. Everything from running to throwing stakes at pretend vampires.

Logan laughed.

"Would you rather get killed by me or by some stupid blood sucker?" I grinned at Logan's venom. As you can tell obviously hunters and vampires aren't a good mix. At all. We both hate each others guts so bad, that there are many treaties and laws to keep us from destroying each. After all, it is our main goal right?

"I don't know. I'll have to think about it." Logan smirked at my comment. Out of all of my five brothers Logan is my favorite. Logan is the only one that isn't super cocky with his looks like the rest of the boneheads. Unlike the others, Logan actually cares about school and not getting into some girl's pants. Logan scoffed and stepped on my back harder, causing me to squeal.

"Wrong answer sis. You wouldn't want to become a blood slave." Logan then removed his foot from my back and walked back inside. Immediately, I collapsed to the ground. Stupid jerk of a brother. I stood up on my feet, dusting the grass off my back, and ran inside.

"Look, you know I'd never stoop so low babe," I overheard Connor, my other older brother, in the kitchen who was lecturing his girlfriend on how he isn't cheating on her but he is. Carefully, I crept to a certain spot behind the bamboo plant in the living room.

"Why should I believe you? How come not too long after we did it I found out that I had a STD?" I giggled which caused the two to look my way. Right away Connor exploded as if I were to be beheaded.

"Cassie what the hell are you doing!" I stepped away from the bamboo plant and entered the kitchen where his infuriated girlfriend had her arms folded across her chest.

"Don't be fooled sweetie," I warned her. "I wouldn't be suprised if he gave it to his other girls on the side...." As soon as I finished all you could hear was a slap to the face, and the front door slamming. Connor looked up at me with a bewidlered expression.

"I'm doomed."

I shrugged.

"You should have never cheated on her." Connor rolled his eyes and took a seat at the table.

"Screw her. I have a fucking STD!" Now do you see what I meant about my brothers? Ignoring the baboon I went ahead and grabbed a protein bar before heading off to my room.

Since my parents are complete hippies no one has doors except for them. They believe that they should be the only ones to have a door since they should have privacy and one else. Lame right? The doors we are allowed to have are bathroom doors.

Quickly I took a nice warm shower before getting dressed and taming. my blonde locks. I looked in the mirror and smiled. I might be a huntress in training, but who the hell says I can't be a fashionista as well? Leather jacket, diamond studs, pink tank top that sometimes rises which drives the boys crazy because of my belly piercing, jean cut outs and converse. To top off my look I'm wearing a strawberry flavored lip glass.

As soon as I was about to apply my eyeliner, my phone vibrated abruptly while playing Crazy Frog.

I looked at the caller id and smiled. My best friend/fashionista/buddy/landshark was calling.

"Ali I'm not going to ask the Bobby in Math class who sits in the front to ask you out. That's so not cool." Even though we're on the phone I could tell that she rolled her eyes. Best friend powers.

Ali scoffed.

"For one this has nothing to do with asking out Bobby from math class that sits in the front for me. That was soooo yesterday. Anyway I was just calling to tell you about the new guy." My cheeks warmed.

"Ali I know where you're heading to but-,"

"Shut up!" She interrupted. "Forget about you know who and move on. Besides, my best friend senses are telling me that he might be the one."

"Thanks, but no thanks."

Ali laughed.

"That wasn't meant for you. I meant he might be the one for me. Pssh, go find your own man."

I giggled at my partner in crime.

"Lemme go chica so I could see him."

"Okay. Later landshark."

"Later."

So there's a new guy. Interesting. I looked in the mirror once more and shook my brown locks.

"I'm about to get my flirt on. I'm going get my flirt on." I sung to myself as I got my stuff together and jogged downstairs.

As soon as I stepped foot in the front yard I was already ambushed by Eddie Peelot. He's a social disaster. He's a nice guy and all, also kinda cute but very creepy. One day when I was walking my dog I caught him taking pictures of me through his window. He's practically my stalker.

"Morning DeRuso." I glared at Eddie as he walked up to me.

"Do I have to call the cops again?" Eddie laughed. He was wearing a long sleeved grey shirt that just revealed his muscles even more than ever.

"I wouldn't want you to do that, DeRuso." I rolled my eyes.

"I have name you know! Now go away so I won't be late for school."

"Why so you could check out the new guy?" Creep.

"No, now move you little prick." Eddie kindly stepped out my way and allowed me to get to my car. I smiled sheepishly and pushed past him to my car. I started the engine and before I knew it I was at school.

High School. The place that could improve your future or completely destroy it. As soon as I stepped out of my car a bunch of jocks ran passed me, almost knocking me over.

The jocks for an example. They're the really hot guys that rule the school. Most of them will get a scholarship to a really good college and they'll eventually become pros. But a few of them will destroy their future by either getting a girl pregnant, doing drugs, or just being plan stupid. Maybe all three. Like I said before, high school could improve your future or destroy it.

As soon as I walked into the school I ran to my locker. I put in my combination and paused. Is it me or do I feel this sudden warmth next to me?

"Gee, chill out babe." I looked to my left only to find a pair of golden eyes bearing down at me. The boy had pale skin, bieber hair, and clearly a lot of muscle. He cleared his throat. "I might be new and all, but you seem like you talk a lot, so why aren't you speaking?"

I glared at him.

"Excuse me?" The boy smiled and closed his locker.

"Look who's making progress!" He ruffled my hair and walked off, leaving me standing by my locker with my jaw dropped.

"Isn't he hot?" Ali stated out of nowhere.

I frowned.

"He's hot. His attitude? Not. Who is he anyway?"

"Alec Jefferson. Thats the new guy."

I scoffed.

"I think I've made a new enemy."
