Cynthia walked out of the kitchen when she heard the click of the television followed by random screams and indistinguishable voices chanting. She was still holding a soapy dish when the mumble of a woman's voice filled the apartment. Her husband ran to turn up the volume.
"What is is Hal?"
"Shhhhh. Just look at the screen."
"But you know I don't like this news station, Hal. It's extremely biased and opinionated."
"I know, I know. Just watch though. It's a mess out there."
"Fine."

"Paranoia is in bloom

in the square. The PR transmissions will resume

within minutes, but for the moment they have been blocked. Of course, they'll try to push drugs that keep us all dumbed down, and hope that we will never see the truth around

. We go now, live, to the scene," the high pitched voice of the blond haired, blue eyed reporter rang through out the apartment. Then her face disappeared and was quickly replaced by a poor quality live feed of the riot.

A man stood on a small platform with a microphone in hand. He was mid-sentence when the picture cleared up and the audio kicked in.

"Another promise, another seed, another packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed, and all the green belts wrapped around our minds, and endless red tape to keep the truth confined

! You know what they are trying to do! Are we going to let them? "

The crowd's response was immediate. They fervently began chanting.
"They will not force us. They will stop degrading us. They will not control us. We will be victorious. So come on

!"
Immediately after they finished the routine chant, they fell dead silent.

Another reporter appeared on the screen, with the rioters as her background. She was very young, and though it was obvious that she was reading from cue cards, she adopted the fervor of the crowd in her words.

"As you can see, the speaker is interchanging mind control

to sway the crowd to follow his lead. Who knows how bad this could get?"

She finished talking just as the public speaker began exciting the crowd once again.

"Come let the revolution takes its toll

. Take action! If you could flick the switch and open your third eye, you'd see that we should never be afraid to die. Rise up and take the power back. It's time the fat cats had a heart attack. You know that their time's coming to an end. We have to, unify and watch our flag ascend

!"

Of course, the crowd responded once again with their unified chant. Their voices melded and lifted into the air with a song like quality.
"They will not force us. They will stop degrading us. They will not control us. We will be victorious

!"

Suddenly the large crowd of people became surrounded by flashing red and blue lights. Policemen jumped out their cars, heavily armed, and helicopters swarmed. Confusion immediately followed. The crowd roared and pushed at the barricades that surrounded them.

"Hey, hey, hey, hey

!" the policemen behind the barricades shouted at the rabid people.
The speaker just folded his arms and smirked at the scene.

"Jonah Claude, put your hands in the air!"

The speaker obeyed. He put his hands in the air. Then he snapped his fingers and vanished.
The crowd didn't seem to notice. They just continued shouting at the armed men and at each other.

"Hey, hey, hey, hey

!" the police shouted.

"Hey, hey, hey, hey

!" the crowd hungrily responded, pushing farther and farther into the rows of policemen. They moved as crazed animals, taking down anyone in their path. They began their chant for the final time.

"They will not force us. They will stop degrading us. They will not control us. We will be victorious. So come on

!"

Cynthia walked back into the kitchen, rinsed the plate, and returned to the living room. The TV was off and her husband was no where to be found.

"Hal? Hal?" she called.

She heard a commotion in the streets and ran to the window. A large crowd was assembling in the the middle of the road, with more people joining each second. They were marching in unison and chanting, just as the crowd on the news had.

"Hey, hey, hey, hey

!"

"Hal! What's gotten into you?" Cynthia called down to her husband.

Hal did not respond. he did not even look up. He just continued marching, getting farther and farther away.

"Hal!" she screamed one final time, but to no avail.

Cynthia stepped back from the window, astounded and confused. She switched on the TV and heard her least favorite news reporter once again.

"There seems to a massive uprising beginning. Mass mobs of seemingly hypnotised people are gathering throughout town. With the loss of all police forces and other armed forces there will be no way to stop them."

Cynthia sighed to herself, "A little over dramatic, don't you think?" Then she shut the television off again and returned to washing her dishes.
