Chapter One

"Natalie Vargis, you're wanted in the front office," says my shittycaca teacher, Mrs. Lamos. And yes, that is her real name. I sigh. This was the third time...today.
"What for this time?" I mumble, taking the slip from her hand. The first time was for detention from something I did the previous year. The second time was for a nothe that says to ride home with my best friend, Kayli. And the third, well, we'll find out.
I walk into the well familiar place of my jail. The front office. I walk up to Mr. Stevens, who is fucking hot, and wave the slip in front of hime. "Ah, yes. Ms. Vargis, please have a seat." he gestures to the chair in front of him. So I'm a Ms.

now? Great! I slam down into the chair, and look at Mr. Stevens.
"You're mom has gone missing. And you have no place to stay. We found this information out about roughly 20 minutes ago. This school has decided that you live with, um, me." I stare at him bluntly. What the hell? This is so fucked up.
"What about my Auntie?" I ask, confused. He stares at me.
"She died yesterday," he says. Holy shittycaca! I have no one left. "I understand you are in shock, but we can help you get-" I scream, not knowing what else to do. I've said it twice, and I'll say it again. Shitty. Caca. Like, for reals.
"Calm down, Natalie," my boyfriend, Christian says. what the hell is he doing here? Then to someone else, he says, "I told you this would happen. You just can't tell her that. She can't take the truth. Not all at one time." He lowers his voice. "don't you know what's going on? The Vargis's have been found. Now, we're all in deep shit!" Wow.
I moan, and realize that my power is surging through me. The bond between me and my mom has been broken. As I realize the next two words, I think, I suddenly rememeber that I am now the mother-beeping- Chosen One. "She's dead," I whisper. Then everything goes black.
I hate waiting. It means that It's just impossible, even though it really isn't. Waiting is for those who have time to. I don't. I have to save the world. One step at a time. My name is Natalie Vargis, and this is my story.

I blink twice, then realize where I am. The nurse's office. Greeeaaat. What's wrong with me now? I try to sit up, but it doesn't work out to well. I fall back down to the bed paper thingy mabobber.
"Natalie. Why on earth did you faint? You scared me all the way down to hell. And what did you mean by, "'She's dead?' Who do you mean? Are you okay?" He rambles on.
"Just shut-up! One fucking question at a time. I fainted cause I was over-whelmed. I meant that my mom is dead. I know this because our bond broke! And I am NOT okay!!! All I know is that I am the Chosen One, and they've found us. You said it yourself. We're in deep shit. And it's all up to me!" I throw my arms up in exaggeration.
"I know. I didn't think you'd here that." He turns his head slightly. "I'm sorry." He looks into my eyes, and I look back into his.
"I know you are. I love you." He leans down, and kisses me softly. I sigh. "But, now I have to leave." He steps back.
"What do you mean? You don't have to leave." I laugh lightly.
"Of course I do. It's the only way that ya'll will be safe. Unless, of course, you want to come with me. But...I doubt you would. I know I would, though." I swing my legs of the bed, and stand up. I walk towards him, and put my hands around his waist. I look up at him.
"I'll go with you anywhere. You know that." He presses his lips to my throat. "I'll go with you anywhere," he murmurs again, against my skin. It felt really nice.
"Okay. Well then, let's go." I grab his hand, and skip out of the nurse's office. We head to his car, and get in. "You don't have to do this, Christian."
"Of course I do. You're my girlfriend."
