Introduction

We can all learn a great deal from watching children and listening to what they are saying to us as adults. We seem to miss what is very important in life. We are captured in so many things these days and not giving ourselves time to enjoy life nor being there for those who are in need. These lessons come alive in this short story. Based on a few friends who decide to build a snowman .Then a major storm arrives right where they are.

The count increases to more friends as the previous ones ask if the others passing by would like to help with the snowman. They then had many more friends to help, as they did so there were some that ended up lost in the woods. Therefore, they stopped their work and joined each other in search of their friends. When they were located, it had given the entire group the true meaning of friendship, and knowledge.

Chapter 1
Once upon a time in the land of make believe, lived a chipmunk whose name was Ashley. Now Ashley loved to visit by the great river that ran alone the mountain that they called snowbird.
It had some left over snow from the last big storm; Ashley was excited to see it up to her front door. She climbed out her upstairs window and slowly made her way down to shovel the snow, it was very deep actually; it went up pass her knees.
She did not know that it was so deep it took her a long time to clear a path to her front door.
A squirrel saw the chipmunk she thought she needed some help so she went to ask her, the chipmunk said yes My name is Amie said the squirrel” Hi my name is Ashley” said the chipmunk.

They were digging in the snow.
There was another friend which is a puppy named Kyla , the chipmunk and the squirrel saw her watching they asked her “do you want to help us dig in the snow.’? Yes-said Kyla I would like to very much. They asked her what is your name, “my name is Kyla what is your name.? “Asked Kyla.” “My name is Ashley and this is Amie.
Would you like to be our friend, yes said Kyla.
They dug for a while and finally finished, Ashley, Amie, and Kyla was very happy when they finished shoveling the snow.
They played in the snow the rest of the morning. An Owl by the name of Daniel went flying over their heads. His wings was very big, he had big eyes.
“Hi Daniel” remarked Ashley the chipmunk. “Would you like to hang around with us?
“Daniel replies,” “What are you playing.”
“We are building a snowman, would you like to help.”
“Oh yes, spoken the owl. “ I would love to. When will we start?”
“Right now if you like you can pat the snow to make it hold and fly over to put the hat on hid head.”
“Ok thanks I would love to place the hat upon his head”
“I am going to my home and get the perfect hat for our snowman. I will return soon. Said the wise Owl”
“Alright said the chipmunk we will see you in a little while “

“Ashley the chipmunk, Amie the squirrel and Kyla the puppy went right to work building a snow man before it became dusk.
“I will start the ball of snow and roll it until it gets bigger,” spoken the chipmunk”
Amie the squirrel preparing the snowball begins to roll it on the ground so it will collect more snow then She will help chipmunk put the snow ball that she made upon the top of the snowman.
“Great job said Ashley the chipmunk. Thank you kindly replied the squirrel I hope Daniel the owl is fine “
“Yes, yes said Kyla the puppy, I agree I hope he makes it while he can see for the sun is starting to settle in the evening winter’s sky”
“I will go ahead and take a look said Kyla, I will run and see if Daniel is in need of help.”
“Ok replied the chipmunk we will be waiting”
The puppy went running away very quickly, she ran so fast that she slipped on the icy pond. Kyla rose up and stood still for a moment to make sure the ice was strong enough to hold her up.
She begins to walk very slowly across the icy pond.
“One step two steps three steps a charm said Kyla as she walked to the side of the frozen pond.”
“Hurray I made it finally now I can go and help Daniel the wise owl.”
Now Kyla walks on to find where Daniel the wise owl was at, she wants to make sure he was ok.

Meanwhile the others were working on their snowman.
“Let’s roll the snowball and put it right over there by the river so the snow man can enjoy looking at the running water” called out Ashley the chipmunk.
“Ok that sounds good to me then we will get Kyla to raise the second large snowball
And set it on top of the other one.”
Daniel was heading for his home when suddenly there was a very strong wind that pushed the wise owl right into a large pine tree. Daniel was injured he hurt his left leg so he was unable to walk after he flew out of the tree. Therefore, we sat there for a while before he decides to fly the rest of the way home.
“Oh my, what have I done I will not be able to return to my friends, with the hat I have for the snowman to wear. I need to tell the others
