something for me. I hope she doesn’t give me that ugly grey knit sweater. It is so ugly, I thought. My sister lifted her head from the closet and showed me the shirt. The shirt was a red crewneck long sleeve t-shirt.
“So what do you think?” Elizabeth asked, exasperated. I looked at the shirt. It looked very nice and with the temperature being like this, it was perfect. I nodded to let her know that I liked it.
“I was wondering do you have pants too.” I told her quietly.
“What do I look like? Goodwill?” she asked annoyingly. I gave her my sweet look again and she sighed, again.
“Okay. But tell me, why do you want to look nice all of a sudden?”
“I always look nice!” I replied with mock hurt tone. She looked down at me with a look that said, no you don’t.
“Alright. I have a boyfriend.” I told her looking down. She gasped and lifted my head with a funny look on her face. I giggled softly.
“Omg. When? Where? How? Tell me!” My sister persisted.
“Okay calm down feisty! We met today during lunch and I was telling him about the Supremes ” I said with a nasty edge snarling my lips. “ Moreover, he seemed contented to listen to me. Plus, he kissed me and you wouldn’t believe who came. The Supremes. They were just like, standing in shock. And then, they started talking smack about me, and Vincent told them off” I told animatedly. Elizabeth was just eating this entire up with fascinated eyes. My last boyfriend was like in, --- Wait. I never had a boyfriend. Elizabeth has though. In fact, they are still dating. How long? Six months? Hmm, I don’t actually remember. Elizabeth shook me vigorously while smiling wider than her face can actually take.
“Girlfriend! I have to get you the best-looking pants known to woman! You look so incredibly chic, you won’t even recognize yourself. As a matter of fact, I’m going to change your whole outfit. But one question. What in the name of all the frizzy hairs in world are you going to do with that one?” she asked while pointing at my hair in disgust. She picked at it then sighed in mocked agony. I quickly retrieved my hair from her hand and patted it down.
“Addy is coming over to straighten it.” I replied defensively.
“Good. I actually thought you were going to dress yourself up and have your hair like that. And tomorrow morning, I’m going to do your make up since you never had experience of such sport” she explained plainly. Sport? Seriously? Give me an effing break. I just shrugged. My sister grabbed my arm and lead deeper in her closet. She opened her huge closet door, pulled out molten lava plaid crewneck t-shirt, and put it against me to see would it look good on me. I thought the shirt was pretty. She told me to try it on and I did.
“It looks really comfortable and effortlessly chic. It’s a Marc by Marc Jacobs collection so you better make sure that it comes back clean okay?” she warned. I nodded my head then rolled my eyes. My sister loves designer clothes. She loves it more than she loves her self. I just never put my wealth into use; Elizabeth never passed up the chance. My parents had always had money. A lot of money. Especially since my grandfather gave my parents a load of money from his jewelry business and left it in my father’s hands. I never used my parent’s money to buy clothes and all that stuff like the Supremes did. Now, I have boyfriend. I want him to think that I am pretty every day and I do not want the Supremes all over him because guys like girls who look pretty. I think I’m pretty. Just not my hair. Moreover, I was one of those lucky red heads that didn’t have freckles. My sister pulled me towards a very large cabinet that looked like the closet itself. She pulled out some studded cigarette jeans and held it against my waist, again measuring me.
“What do you think sweet heart?” my sister asked. I thought they looked like a biker chick pants but I didn’t say that. I just looked at her hoping she would see how I felt about it.
“I am guessing that you don’t really like it.” She said sadly .
“No it’s not that. It’s just looks so biker. I want to look sweet and petite you know?” I replied to her. Elizabeth looked at me then smiled.
“I while be right back!” she yelled while rummaging through her closet. I looked up to the ceiling. Gosh, this was going to be a long night.

Chapter 3

The next morning I was almost ready to go to school. I couldn’t walk to school as I usually do because of my hair. Addy had end up coming around seven and did my hair. It ended up taking longer than I actually thought it would. First we had to wash my hair then blow dry it and then comb it out, then, finally, she started to straightened it. Moreover, Elizabeth changed the whole wardrobe into something much girly. I was wearing Splendid blue supima cotton snap long sleeve with a Cece grey cotton boyfriend cardigan. For the bottom, I was wearing a Whitney Eve black silk tie front skirt with black leggings and Tashkent by Cheyenne black suede 'Sinclair' cut-out ankle boots. I felt so, primped. Elizabeth had taken the opportunity to put make up on me and to tell you the truth, I never felt so beautiful either. I never used to dress this way and now, I do. Vincent will be falling on his knees when he sees me, I thought looking in the mirror while turning around and checking myself. The girl in the mirror was so not the old Cassie Lauden with the frizzy hair with JCPenney’s clothes from yesterday. The girl in the mirror was the new Cassie Lauden with makeup on and designer clothes. Just like the Supreme’s.
“Cassie! Are just going to stand there admiring yourself or are you going to come down and eat something?” Elizabeth said, distracting my thoughts and me. I rolled my eyes at her and grabbed my handbag, which was Kooba black leather 'Samantha' shoulder bag along with my Fendi asphalt zucchino spalmati flat messenger bag. It was probably the only designer accessory that I owned. I came downstairs and my mother’s eyes practically popped out of their socket. She walked up to me and held my face then hugged me.
“I seriously thought you were never going to start wearing designer clothes. Gosh, do you have any idea I spend my nights wondering when you were going to tame that hair.” She told me while smoothing my hair. My mom was a big fashion freak. She was the chief editor in the magazine Flawless. She always kept up to date with the latest trends because hello, chief editor of a fashion magazine has to keep up with such things. I just never did. Not until now obviously. I just smiled my Ecco Bella lip glossed lips. Courtesy to my sister of course. I went into the kitchen and took a bite in my French toast after dipping it in syrup. Elizabeth looked at me in disgust and continued to eat her German Potato Pancakes. Elizabeth wasn’t a vegetarian and all but, she rarely ate meat or anything greasy. She claimed that they had too much carbs but I could care less. I’ve been fatty food since like forever and I never got fat so things like those didn’t pertain to me.
“Oh sweetheart, you know that Jacque is taking you to school today you understand?” my mother told me. I wiped the crumbs of my skirt and nodded. I had to remember to tell Jacque to pass by Violet’s house. When I was done eating, I brushed the crumbs off my skirt and grabbed my stuff. I went outside the house to feel the cool air of the autumn to my face and I closed my eyes. Today was the start of something so new.
While Jacque was driving, I remembered that I need to pick up Violet. I asked Jacque could he pick her up and all he did was smile and turned on Lakewood Avenue, otherwise known as for Fortress Avenue. Violet’s house was easy to spot because it was the only house that was brown unlike the white peachy fortresses around there. When Jacque pulled up in her driveway, she was about to start walking until she saw me in the Lincoln Navigator. She looked around and pointed to herself as if to say, who me?
“Yes you! Now come on.” I told her. She shrugged her shoulders and climbed in the car. Did I ever tell you that violet is almost the exact opposite of me? Well violet dresses up like a little girl sometimes and it makes her look sweet. You already know how I used to dress so I don’t even have to tell you. Violet was wearing a French Connection black knit scoop neck sweater dress with purple stretch scrunch leggings and Stuart Weitzman black suede fur trim boots. She had her hair in a total tousles and a purple bow on her hair. She always looked so pretty and to think that she was my friend and not one of the Supreme’s. The Supremes had used to hang out with her because of her uber-hot older brother, Max. When violet started to realize that they were just using her, she had stop hanging out with her and started hanging out with me. It has been a year now and we still are tighter than thick rope.
“OMG! You look so beautiful! Not that you didn’t before, it’s just, well, your frizzy hair is gone.” She said while running her fingers through my hair. I smiled at her and rolled my eyes.
“Thanks for the compliment seriously. I appreciate it.” I told her truthfully.
“Why didn’t you walk today?” she asked.
“I don’t want my hair to blow everywhere and end looking a hot mess. So, that’s why we are getting the artificial air conditioning instead of the windy cool air of New York City.
“So, am I going to see the new boo when we get to school?” violet asked anxiously. I nodded then took the mirror out of bag and lifted it to my face to apply another coat of lip-gloss. Violet just looked at me and smirked. She had never in her life seen me do these things unless we were going somewhere extremely special. I mean going to Jason Statham in person special. After many minutes later, Jacque pulled up into the parent drop-off lane and told us bye. We waved him a bye back and opened the door. Since I was to the left of the car, I had gotten out first. When I got out of the car, I heard low gasps. Most of them came from the Supremes. I saw Amanda looked at me bewildered then turned to Jennifer for an explanation but Jennifer didn’t notice her. She just saw me with her jaw hanging slightly open. Cara, Addison, and tiffany just looked shocked too. I smiled a toothy smile and so did Violet. We started walking up the staircase until the Supremes came in front of us. I looked at them with an annoying look, especially Amanda who looked as if she could rip my head off. For some weird reason, I didn’t feel intimated by her at all. I guess that’s what makeup does to you.
“Did your fairy godmother come in town and dressed you for a
