to her. "Ready to talk?"

Kaily sat where she was and let out a heavy sigh. "There's nothing to talk about."

"You want to tell me what happened between you and Moto?" She sat next to Kaily. She glanced at her sideways.

"No." Kaily glanced at Sari out of the corner of her eye. "I'm sure Moto has filled you in on the details." She knew she was being rude, but a part of her didn't care. What did it matter anyway? It didn't! Kaily answered. She didn't care. She would not submit to such cruelty. A tear slipped out of the corner of her eye. She brushed it away.

Sari nodded. "He's explanation was light on detail. I'm interested in your side of the story."

Kaily turned her head to look Sari full on. "Why?"

"Maybe I can help." Sari turned so that she faced Kaily.

Kaily shook her head. "Unless you can convince him to apologize for being a complete ASS, there is nothing you can do." She tried to calm her emotions and tone. It wasn't Sari's fault Moto was a prick.

Sari placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. "This anger isn't going to help."

Kaily sighed and met Sari's gaze. "It was an accident."

"That's what Moto said." Sari took Kaily's hands in hers. "I know Moto, he would not ask for retribution lightly. What happened?"

Kaily looked into Sari's eyes before answering and frowned. "He didn't tell you what happened?"

"Only that you lost control and accidentally sent him flying." Sari gave her a smile. "I would have liked to see that by the way."

Kaily smiled in return. "It wasn't a pretty picture. I didn't mean to, I was just so angry at him and he kept pushing me and pushing me, all I wanted was for him to leave me alone."

"What was he pushing you to do?" Sari asked.

Kaily let out an exasperated sigh. "Training. He said that if I could learn control through learning self-defense that it would make it easier for me in the training room." She answered in a mocking voice. "He just wouldn't let up."

"He can be intense when it comes to combat training." Sari held Kaily's gaze. "I know Moto wouldn't have pushed you if he didn't think it was important. I also know that he wouldn't give out that kind of punishment for an accident. What happened, Kaily? All of it."

Kaily looked away. "I told you, it's because I threw him." She looked back at Sari.

Sari's eyes narrowed. "How many times did you throw him?"

Kaily looked down at the hands clasped in her lap. "Three times, four if you count using the energy to give him a push into the pool."

"I see."

Kaily glanced up to see what look Sari had on her face. She was smiling. Kaily returned her smile, albeit a small one. "The fourth time doesn't count, since he threw me into the pool first." She didn't add that Moto said he would give her that one. She should have asked him what he meant by that, but hindsight and all. She didn't know he planned to take action for the others.

Sari's expression sobered. "You could have thrown him off the cliff." She touched Kaily's clasped hands as if offering comfort and rebuke at the same time.

Kaily's gaze returned to her lap. "I know and I would have if he hadn't used his own abilities to save himself. I didn't ask for these powers, Sari." She looked back up at Sari. She could feel more tears to be shed. She tried to force them to stay where they were. "I don't want these abilities."

Sari touched Kaily's arm. "But you have them and you can hurt someone if you don't learn control."

"I know." Kaily said. "You think Moto is right, don't you?"

Sari didn't answer her right away. She glanced up at the fading planet and then back to Kaily. "It is our way."

"It's not my way." Kaily glanced up at the fading planet that Sari had. She would agree that she did need to learn control. The last thing she wanted was to hurt someone, to hurt Moto, and she felt shame for almost doing just that the day before, but what he was asking of her was beyond her ability to give him.

"Do you want to walk away from Moto?"

Kaily's attention snapped back to Sari. "No."

"Leave us." Moto said startling them both.

Sari looked from Moto to Kaily and back to Moto. She took the hand he offered her to help her stand. She leaned into him and whispered something in his ear, but Kaily couldn't make out what it was. Moto nodded in response and watched her go up the path towards the cave. He turned his attention back to Kaily. "Stand up."

Kaily narrowed her eyes at him. "Why?" Moto still had a hard edge to him, and frankly she didn't trust him, not with this.

"I'm in no mood to be questioned by you or to argue with you." He held out his hand towards her as he had Sari. "Trust me." He added.

She stared at his hand for a long time. She did trust him, didn't she? She let out a sigh and took his hand. He helped her stand and then wrapped his arm around her waist. Even in his anger he was gentle with her. She looked into his eyes and thought to say something, but nothing came to mind. He turned his head breaking their eye contact and held up his hand. Kaily noticed that he held a bag slung over his shoulder, not a large one, but she was curious. He looked back to her.

"My apologies for pushing you too hard, please, trust me now." He said and guided her forward.

She took two steps before losing consciousness. When she woke, she had a massive headache and was cradled in his arms. "Oww." She said and frowned up at him. "What did you do to me?" She demanded, albeit quietly, her head was killing her, again.

"Portal," he tersely replied. "Here drink this." He
