For the first time in his life, he began to understand what it was like for Kaily to be so paralyzed by fears that she felt helpless to overcome them. The possibility that she was somehow connected to a Druid in some way was almost impossible for him to comprehend. He didn't want to comprehend it. The fears she felt started to become his own. He couldn't bring himself to believe that any of her past was somehow connected to a Druid. He concentrated on helping her face her night terrors and the demon that lived within them.
The days were filled with trying to teach her meditation, and that was after the struggle it took to get her back into the training room each and every morning. She resisted and fought him until she had no fight left and he carried her to the training room. His temper flared more than was good for either of them, and he tried to control it. The lack of sleep and relieving her night terrors night after night when she slept drained his control. It didn't help that he was unable to convince her to talk about her night terrors and what happened in the training room.
She withdrew so much during the waking hours she refused to communicate with him telepathically. He could still reach her mind, but she refused to look into his. Moto knew she was afraid she would see the remnants of her night terrors within his mind. A part of him didn't blame her for hiding herself away from that pain, but another part of him recognized that until she faced the source of the pain and fear, she was never going to start the healing process. Even if the night terrors were only dreams and not memories, something traumatic happened to her that she needed to face. To make matters worse, he was running out of ideas on what to do to help her. The only peace either of them had was when they made love and their beings merged.
Thankfully, Sari and Shimani stayed away. He didn't think he could maintain control of his temper around them. There were words he would need to have with the two of them and answers he would demand. But his hands were full with Kaily. He didn't need any other issues added to the mix. It was the third day and Kaily slipped far enough away that he feared he wouldn't be able to bring her back to him. She no longer lost her temper with him, and it terrified him. He could deal with her temper; he couldn't deal with her withdrawal. He felt her slip a little further away from him each passing day. In the evenings when they made love, he was able to bring her back, at least, in part. The last time they made love he felt a distance in her. Their center beings didn't fully merge as they had done the previous times they physically came together.
The only thing he could think to do to help her would either break her or help her break through the barriers she built around herself. He knew that she thought if she built high enough walls, she could keep the night terrors from surfacing and go back to the peaceful life she used to have. She didn't want to face the fact that it wouldn't work. They were running out of time. If he let her build those barriers too high, not even he would be able to reach her. He suspected that was where the shield in her mind originated. Somehow, she must have erected a shield within her mind to hold memories at bay that she didn't want to face without either of them realizing it. He hoped that what he was about to do would help her, but in reality, he didn't know for sure, and it terrified him that he might make it worse for her not better. He needed to try.
He waited until he felt her awareness start to surface. Just before she woke, he slipped inside her, filling her, and brought her into a state of arousal as she woke before familiarity of the night terrors penetrated her awareness. She moved restlessly beneath him and raised her hips to meet each of his strokes. She held on to him and let herself feel nothing but the ecstasy building between them. He took possession of her mind and body and flooded her mind with his erotic emotions and the demands his body made on hers. He didn't give her a chance to retreat. He filled her completely and ruthlessly drove their pleasure higher and higher. He took every advantage he needed to drive the demon of her night terrors out of their conscious thoughts. He knew he partially succeeded when he felt her center begin to merge with his, not entirely, but in part. He would have to accept that much and not push her away with his own fears. He focused on bringing her pleasure and pouring desire and love into her heart and mind.
She silently begged him for release.
Not yet. He was brutal in his possession of her and forced their shared pleasure to override her waking terror. He was pleased when she stopped begging him for release and gave herself over to floating in the wave of ecstasy he built. When he obtained her trust to the extent that
