where he stood. She faced him toe to toe and crossed her arms over her chest. "Now what?" She asked. "More meditation crap?"

No. While he waited for her, he slowly drew energy in and held it at bay, so she was not aware of it when she entered the training room. She was not getting a handle on her abilities, but he could sense them below the surface just on the tip of her awareness. He knew that at some point she would be made conscious of them, and the Universe help them all if she realized the power she possessed before she learned the control she needed to harness them. Before she could respond or react, he waved his hand, closing the entrance behind her.

She spun around and panic gripped her mind.

He didn't let up. He bombarded her mind with images from all of her night terrors, rapidly passing each one through her mind, starting with the most recent and working his way backwards. He hoped he could catch her by surprise, that the room was enough to amplify his ability to project, and that she wouldn't have a chance to lock him out of her mind before she was forced to face them.

She turned anger filled eyes on him.

A wave of immense power hit him so fast he couldn't react. He was thrown against the far wall and slid to the floor. He hit hard enough it took his breath away and his head spun. He struggled to remain conscious and clear the ringing in his ears. He struggled to push back the darkness trying to seep into his mind. His talisman burned so hot it scorched him even through the material of his vest. He removed his vest and dropped it with his talisman to the floor. He erected a shield and came unsteadily to his feet. He used the wall to maintain balance and remain standing. Wave after wave of power emanated from Kaily and beat at his shield. He lost his concentration to project into her mind. It was all he could do to maintain his shield. He expected the room to protect him from any power retaliation that she might throw at him. Shimani told him that the walls would absorb energy that was harmful to another. Moto tested it with energy balls, although no one else was in the room when he tested it. He directed the balls at himself and the energy was redirected to the walls of the room. He didn't understand why it didn't take the brunt of the power directed at him.

His attention was drawn to a cracking sound above his head. He glanced up and was horrified to see an indentation in the domed ceiling directly above her. Cracks spread out from the indentation like a spider web. He cursed as options passed through his mind. An idea came to him to wrap her and her power within a shield like how the room was shielded and close it in on her while trying to draw off the energy she gathered. He steeled himself and drew in as much power as he could draw in through his talisman. It wasn't enough. He couldn't get the shield all the way around her.

KAILY! STOP! He tried shooting into her mind. There was nothing coherent within her mind to connect to. He glanced up and struggled to keep panic from overwhelming him as the spider web of cracks continued to spread. He could feel the shield of the room collapsing. He circumvented his talisman and tried to draw energy into his shield from Kaily's power. He realized too late that she was not connected to the energy through any conduit. Somehow, she pulled from the shield of the room and somehow reached down into Ki and pulled unlimited amounts of energy.

"STOP KAILY!" He shouted. "YOU'RE GOING TO KILL US BOTH!" It was no use. She was filled with anger and no longer aware of her surroundings. He didn't think she even recognized him. He could feel that the room was minutes away from collapsing on them. He took deep calming breaths and drew in energy from Ki in the same way that Kaily did. It was a good thing that he picked up the how to quickly. He only needed to see how something was done once and he could repeat it. He built the energy around him and tied his power with Kaily's through their bonded connection. He was grateful he made her his bonded mate. He knew what he was about to do wouldn't work without the bond between them. He sent a silent pray to the Universe that she would survive, and then he unleashed a massive backlash of power.

She screamed and grabbed her head. Power drained from her and she collapsed in an unconscious heap.

He didn't waste any time. He grabbed his vest with his talisman, ran to Kaily, gathered her in his arms, and then ran from the training room as it collapsed. He kept a shield erected around them the whole time to try and protect them both from the falling debris. He collapsed in the center of the main cave with Kaily in his arms. He concentrated intently at the back of the cave, specifically to the wall and ceilings until he was convinced the main part of the cave would remain intact. The back part including the hallway was a pile of rubble.

He left Kaily where he fell with her and forced himself to his feet. It was a struggle. What he did with the energy drained him, and he found it difficult to move. It felt as if he was being pulled to the center of Ki. He moved the pallets and blankets closer to the entrance. He didn't want to chance the possibility the back of the cave might collapse further and bury them in the process. He knelt by Kaily and gathered his strength as much as possible. He struggled
