then put her palm to her forehead as she became aware of the blinding pain just behind her eyes, "Oh, that headache," she softly said. Suddenly what light seeped into the cave hurt her eyes and anything above a whisper was painful to her head.

"I will wait for you by the pools." Shimani pulled the covering back over the entrance as he left.

There was only the soft glow of the crystals embedded in the wall of the cave for Kaily to contend with, still they were too bright for her liking at that moment. She untangled herself from Moto and sat up slowly so she didn't jar her pounding head more than she could endure. She tried to ignore the pain and stared at the spot Shimani vacated. She didn't like the tone in Shimani's voice, and she didn't like that Moto still slept. She looked down at his face and a frown creased between her brows. She picked up one of his silvery white braids that once had been dark. There was a hand full of silvery white braids on the underside of his hair. She glanced from him to the entrance, her frowned deepened when she noticed how close the pallets were to the front entrance of the cave. She covered Moto with one of the blankets that slipped in her effort to sit up, gathered one around her and stood. She turned and stared at the back of the cave or what was left of the back of the cave. The hallway leading to the training room collapsed. How could she have slept through that?

She looked down at Moto. He didn't move. Her frown deepened as she tried to make sense of what happened. She took a deep breath and walked to the table. She picked up the cup and drank the contents. She walked towards the debris.

She thought about the last thing she remembered as she continued to drink the contents of the cup. She remembered being so angry at Moto for being an ass, and she remembered entering the training room. She had been so angry at him for so many reasons. Now, she couldn't understand why she felt such rage towards him. She didn't think he was being more annoying than his usual stubborn self. For some reason she had been furious with him, but why? She couldn't remember. What did he do? What did she do? She couldn't help but feel somehow whatever happened to cause the back of the cave to collapse, it had something to do with her. She closed her eyes and let out a heavy sigh. "Please, no." She whispered. Had she lost control again? It was the only plausible explanation.

She wiped a tear away and turned her back on the destruction. She down the remaining contents of the cup and set it back on the table. She paused by Moto, knelt beside him so that she could place a soft kiss on his lips. "I love you." She said. She stood and ordered the tears threatening to fall to cease. She brushed aside the ones that stubbornly trickled down her cheeks despite her resolve not to cry. She made quick use of the shower room, dressed and hurried to the pools. She wanted answers and Shimani was the only one there to give them to her.

She found him standing by the edge of the pool. He started out over the open ledge. There was a contemplative quietness she never before noticed in him. She frowned as she discovered her senses seemed to be on hyper drive. She felt his emotions in a way she didn't before feel. Shimani turned as she stepped from the path on to the soft grass carpeting of the clearing by the pools.

"Please join me." He indicated with a nod of his head the low table and cushions set up to the side. There was a variety of food on the table, and two cups with a water skin nearby.

"What's going on, Shimani?" She crossed her arms over her chest and remained where she stopped.

He walked to the table and sat in one of the low cushions. He didn't reply. He waited for her to join him.

She glared at him. When it appeared that he would not answer her, she shook her head, and glanced at the path leading back to the cave. She thought about going back and laying back down with Moto. She discarded the thought. It wouldn't help her get the answers she so badly needed. She looked back at Shimani.

Still, he said nothing.

She could feel her anger brewing just below the surface. She needed to maintain control. Her anger wouldn't serve her in getting answers. She walked to the table and sat in the cushion opposite Shimani. She watched as he filled first her plate and then his. Next, he poured the contents from the water skin into their cups. "Brey?"

He shook his head.

"Nectar of brey?"

He shook his head again. He handed her a cup. "This will help with the nausea."

"I don't," she started to deny. Her protests were quieted as a wave of nausea overcame her. She narrowed her eyes at him. "What's going on?" She asked. She forced herself to swallow the bile suddenly in the back of her throat. "That is the second time you have given me medicine to help with a symptom that I did not yet have," she narrowed her eyes to mere slits, "until you told me I have it."

He smiled. It was a smile that did not reach his eyes or seem particularly happy. "I have kept the symptoms in check for you so we can talk. Unfortunately, there are certain side affects." He saluted her with his own cup and downed the contents, and then refilled his cup and downed the second. "That is a horrible feeling."

"Don't expect sympathy from me." She drank the contents of her own cup and held it out for more. It was a pleasant surprise that
