searching for a place to dump it.
“Braxton…on my God.” Fabian moaned and tried to pull his
pants up.
Braxton slumped against Fabian’s car to catch his breath and
cupped his own cock as he recuperated.
Slowly they calmed down and managed to straighten up their
clothing. Braxton tried to get the used condom back into the
wrapper, then finally spotted a trash can near the elevators and
brought it over to throw out.
~
Fabian watched him, still sitting on the driver’s seat of the
Porsche, his whole body reverberating from the shock and
passion. He ran his hand over his hair and used the car to haul
himself upright. He tucked in his shirt and buckled his belt, then
waited as Braxton made his way over, looking just as sated and
amazed as he was.
Braxton dropped back heavily against the passenger’s side of
Fabian’s car and they stared at each other.
“Is that it? You got me and now…?” Fabian shivered,
knowing—just knowing—the chase was over for Braxton.
“It’s not like that. Why do you think that’s all I want from
you?”
The act of sex and surge of nerves had completely sobered
Fabian up, and regret and fear began to invade him. “Braxton.
What do you want from me?”
“I don’t know. I mean, I do know inside that building”—
Braxton pointed—“but outside? How do I know?”
Craving reassurance, Fabian moved slowly, resting his thighs
against Braxton’s and holding his waist. “I’ve never done
anything like this before. Have you?”
Braxton looked down and didn’t answer.
Suddenly Fabian felt cheap and used. He backed up. “I
should get home.”
“You okay to drive?”
“Yes.” Fabian began to walk to the opposite side of his car.
“Hey.” Braxton held his sleeve to stop him. “I had fun.”
“Yeah. Me too.”
“See ya tomorrow.”
“Sure. See ya.” Fabian sat in his car and started it up. Braxton
appeared to be waiting for him to pull out first, so he did,
catching Braxton’s polite wave.
“I am such an idiot!” Fabian clenched his fists and drove
home.
~
Braxton shivered with guilt and doubt. What they did was
impulsive and wrong. This was the behavior he had tried to put
behind him. From the age of fifteen to thirty Braxton had hit and
run men and women this way, never asking them out after.
Why? It wasn’t a reflection on them, it was on himself.
Shame. He was ashamed of himself for treating people this way,
like a whore.
He sat in his car, the motor running and blasted the music, his
doubt turning to fear, and his fear to anger. Squealing the tires in the empty lot, Braxton drove home, the beat of the hard rock
music blocking out his thoughts.
Since the rush hour had passed he made it home in a half hour
and pulled into the parking under his condo. Infuriated, he
headed to the elevator to go to his unit and reached into his
pocket to drop his car key in it and find his house key. When he
did he felt something. Taking out the coaster, Braxton read the
promise Fabian had made—never to leave him, no matter what.
But after what Braxton had done to Fabian tonight? He wouldn’t
blame him if he did.
“I’ll never see him again. He simply won’t show up.”
Braxton balled his fist and punched the concrete near the condo
lobby entrance, skinning his knuckles.
~
Fabian came through the door of his home and threw his
jacket on the bed in frustration. He stripped off his clothing,
crushing it in his hands and whipping it against the wall. Naked,
he put his hands on his hips and grew upset. That was the worst
thing he could have done! He promised himself tonight he would
just hang out with Braxton and they would get to know each
other. Now? If Braxton ignored him tomorrow? He’d kill
himself.
Enraged, about to scream, Fabian entered the bathroom and
started the shower running to warm the water. He caught his
expression in the mirror and fell apart at the sight of his red
rimmed eyes. Unable to look at himself any longer, he stepped
into the tub and stood under the hot water, resting his arms on
the tile and allowing the steam and water to cleanse and
decompress him. Gently, he reached around to his bottom and
felt the sensation of after-sex friction. He wasn’t sore. Braxton
had fucked him for a minute and didn’t even penetrate deeply.
But, the feel of Braxton was still there.
Fabian scrubbed his skin and fought with how humiliated he
was going to be tomorrow. But he had made a promise. A vow.
And I am a man of my word.
He shut off the water and stood dripping, getting a grip on his
emotions. If Braxton treated him like a stranger tomorrow? He
had no one to blame but himself.
He stepped out of the tub and dried off, returning to his
bedroom to see the clothing he had carelessly strewn on the
floor. Picking up his suit jacket and trousers, Fabian checked the
pockets so he could bring it to the cleaners. When he did, he
removed the coaster and reread the oath. You won’t fire me. But will you treat me like shit?
Fabian was so devastated, he didn’t turn on his phone or
computer. Instead, he climbed into bed and zoned out at the
crappy television shows, not watching, but staring at the moving
images on the screen.
~
Braxton shaved his jaw after he showered, since he woke up
very early for his morning workout, he usually did these things
the night before. His hair was wet and covering his forehead as
he ran a razor over his jaw and neck. Everything will be okay.
Calm down.
Braxton thought about valium. If it was good enough for
Richfield, maybe it was good enough for him. He couldn’t keep
hitting the bottle to stop the rage. He wasn’t going to become an
alcoholic.
Once he had finished grooming, he dressed in a pair of
sweatpants and T-shirt and sat on the sofa with his laptop. When
he opened up the work files he could tell nothing had been done
since he left work at five. He had a slight panic attack since
Fabian had been so diligent about doing it every night this week.
He began to get upset, thinking Fabian may have been too drunk
to drive.
He picked his cell phone up off the side table
