She knew once she gave herself to Gavin, Heath and Logan they would have the power to hurt her far more than anyone ever had before. Zora had already lost so much, and her heart was the last thing she held sacred.
“Tell me what to do, Nana.” She whispered to the empty room, wishing she could have her grandmother’s guidance once more.
Zora closed her eyes and lay still, but sleep eluded her.
Who was she kidding? Something was keeping her awake and she knew exactly what it was. She wanted to be with the three hunks downstairs, and while her heart told her to get her ass out of bed and go to them, her head came up with several reasons why she shouldn’t. None of those reasons made any sense.
Before she could talk herself out of it again, she tossed back the cover and slid out of bed. She made her way out of her room and down the stairs. Fully expecting them to be in the living room together, she found it empty. Where had they gone? Did they leave her here all alone? Zora felt deflated.
She’d talked herself into coming downstairs and they weren’t even here. She didn’t think they’d drive into town without telling her. Maybe they decided to take a walk, in which case she’d have to wait for their return because she didn’t know the woods well enough not to get lost.
Zora contemplated going back to bed, but opted to check out the offerings on the book shelf. She finally settled on a literary classic she’d read and enjoyed in high school. Just as she was getting into the story, the cabin door opened and all three men walked in, each naked. She gulped as she stared at their massive yet well-proportioned physiques. Each of them possessed broad shoulders and tight rippled abs that tapered to narrow hips. All of them looked as if they’d been carved by the hands of a master sculptor, from each corded muscle to the fine hairs that adorned their chests.
Knowing it was improper to stare, Zora couldn’t tear her eyes away. She moistened her lips nervously and greeted them. “Uh, out for a run?” she asked, trying to inject as much nonchalance in her statement as she could. She knew they only went outside in the nude when they wanted to shift into their other form.
“Yeah, miss us?” Heath winked as a smirk tilted his sensual lips.
When she happened to glance at Logan, she noticed his cock was fully erect and he didn’t seem to be the least bit bothered by it. This time she did look away, her cheeks burning.
“I didn’t notice a pile of clothes.” That sounded lame even to her, but it was the first thing that slid off her tongue.
“Over in the corner. You didn’t answer my question.”
Heath slowly stalked toward her.
Again she wet her lips with her tongue, feeling as nervous around them as she had the first time she was formally introduced. Even though it had been her intention to discuss making their relationship more intimate, her nerves were starting to get the best of her. “What was the question again?”
“I think you know, love. Did you miss us?” Heath reached down and grasped her chin gently, making her look up at him.
“Do you guys plan on putting your clothes back on?” came her breathy reply.
“Do you intend to answer the question?” Heath countered.
“I can get her to answer it,” Logan growled, striding toward them. For such a large man, his movements were swift and fluid. Before Zora had a chance to react, Logan grabbed her wrist and hauled her off the couch. He pulled her against his steel-barreled chest and grinned, revealing startling white teeth. “Miss us?” Logan underlined his question with a lingering kiss on the side of her neck.
