“I’m gonna come,” he growled, his hand sliding up my back to grip my hair in his hand.
Fuck yes!
“Do it!” I growled back.
He thrust hard and fast, and I smiled into the pillow when my name ended as a moan on his lips.
Chapter Twenty
RILEY
“Fuck me,” I breathed and dropped down onto the bed on my back when I returned from throwing out the condom.
“I think I just did,” Fi joked with a smirk and leaned into my chest. I pulled my arm around her back, and she snuggled into me further. I had loved this woman for a long time, but her need for me to be aggressive with her in bed was such a fucking turn on for me. She really liked that alpha-male shit in bed, and I loved giving it to her. I liked to be in charge, and fuck, it was sexy that she let me.
“Remind me to never go that long without sex,” I mused.
“Oh? Has it been as long for you as it has been for me?” she asked.
I pushed her onto her back, and her eyes went wide when she obviously realized what she had said. “What do you mean?” I seethed.
She shook her head. “Nothing. Forget it.”
“Fiona, what do you mean? Tell me.”
She let out a frustrated noise from deep in her throat. “Well…you’re a professional athlete.”
“Can confirm.”
“Who has beautiful women throwing themselves at you all the time.”
“Okay. What’s your point?” I asked, even more confused.
What the hell was she saying to me?
She furrowed her brow at me and sighed. “Riley! I know that athletes cheat on their wives all the time! I’ve come to accept that’s going to be part of this deal.”
“WHAT.THE.ACTUAL.FUCK?” I bellowed.
She shrank away at my raised voice. I sat up on the bed and ran a frustrated hand down my face. The scared look on her face broke my heart. “You think...you think I’ve been cheating on you? What, do you think I wanted an open marriage or some shit?”
“Well, we never talked about it! I mean, our marriage is kinda…fake.”
“Fiona, you know how I feel about cheating. You know what my dad did to my mom,” I snapped at her. “And what do you mean our marriage is ‘fake’?”
“Well, we didn’t exactly get married for love.”
That hit me right in the chest. I got married for love, but she definitely did not.
“Fi…”
She sat up on the bed, clutching the sheet to her chest. “I’m sorry. I mean, I would be okay…if you want to have an arrangement like that.”
“Fiona, what the fuck? Why would I want an open marriage?”
“So you can fuck other people. And not feel guilty about cheating on me.”
“Sweetheart, I don’t want that,” I seethed at her. “Why would you think that?”
“I didn’t mean—”
“Did you seriously think I would cheat on you?”
She looked taken aback. “What do you mean?”
“Do you think so little of me?”
She reached out at hand and touched my arm. “Hey, hey, I’m sorry. I should have talked to you about it. I assumed the worst. Forgive me?”
My head was in my hands, but I pulled my hands away to look at her. Her green eyes looked up at me with a sadness and insecurity I hadn’t seen in them before. “Fiona, you know I would never do that. I’m not my dad.”
She leaned over, gripped the back of my neck, and pulled my lips to hers. I didn’t kiss her back, because honestly, I was really hurt at the accusations. I knew our marriage was weird and rushed, but I married her for real. This was a real marriage to me. I knew she didn’t love me like I did her, and maybe I should have told her how I felt so she didn’t jump to this conclusion. I was still too chicken-shit to tell her that I loved her because I was afraid she would ask for a divorce again. It hurt that she thought I was off out there sleeping with other women just because I knew she would be fine with that. I didn’t want a marriage like that.
“I’m sorry. Please, Aaron, please forgive me,” she begged.
Oh, she so knew what to say to get me to forgive her. The sound of her voice so soft and small did me in. “You know how I feel about that. We’re exclusive, right? You haven’t...” But I couldn’t complete the question. The idea that Fi had been sleeping with another man while I was traveling for my job ripped my heart in two.
She looked at me in horror. “No! I married you! Why do you think I nearly jumped you when you got home? I have been so sexually frustrated; my vibrator isn’t good enough sometimes.”
I laughed at that. “Again, I’m going to have to file that imagery away for when I’m on the road.”
She laughed with me. “Oh my God! Were you being serious earlier?”
I smiled and kissed her, this time pulling her back down to me so she was straddling my hips again. “Only you,” I told her when I pulled away. “I married you, only you. I know this is kind of like a trial marriage, but you get all of me in this.”
She ran her hands down my chest, raking her nails on my skin. “When did you get so seriously ripped?” she asked.
“It’s kind of my job to be in peak physical condition.”
Her eyes scanned down the hard lines of my chest, and her hands gripped the thick muscles of my biceps. “I never thought I would be into big muscles,” she said so softly that I didn’t think I was supposed to hear her.
I pulled her down to kiss me again and loved the feeling of her hands all over
