This is a tale of me sharing my love with something I love. My name is Kim it all started on my 11th birthday on the 20th of the 10th.
I was in the woods, exploring lost or trapped animals my favourite animals are rabbits. I normally find a little black rabbit out in the woods. I call it Shadow.
The wood was dull and misty, there was lots of little holes on the trees with hundreds of acorns.
I liked looking in the holes seeing if anything important was there.
I remember so vividly looking in a hole seeing a squirrel eating red berries and nuts.
But the hole I remembered the most was the one
with Balto in it.
Balto was not only a friend he was family.
I remembered I heard a wimpy noise coming from a dark cobwebbed hole. I searched in this hole as it was very big. Then I saw a baby wolf that looked like it had been badly injured. It also had a massive wound.
I knew I had to help it and I also knew the dangers I had to face. So I took it home, luckily my dad knew a friend who was a doctor. Although he wasn't a vet.
And that's when the trouble starts.
My mum said I can't take in a baby wolf as I
was only a child. But that didn't stop me.
I begged and begged until they had to agree and I made sure I was resonsible, matuer and rational about it.
He was my best friend and soon we became close, we
were kindered spirits. We soon got to name him and the only name that suited him was Balto. My Balto.
Eventually Balto soon took on a fear of thunder and he soon got bigger and bigger.
I soon taught him how to howl, how Balto loved the moon he would howl at it for hours.
Balto soon got so big he had to be kept outside how he hated it.
Now Balto just a memory for me I won't ruin it for you so let's get on with the story.
As I said before I found Balto so legally I never owned him. Although I wish I did.
He was perfect not like the other wolves.
After a while it seemed like he never liked me anymore but I knew deep down he did, it was just something was up he stopped howling at the moon.
Balto also recovered from his fear of thunder. I know I had to do something.
