One of the ancients, once said that poetry is "the mirror of the perfect soul." Instead of simply writing down travel notes or, not really thinking about the consequences, expressing your thoughts, memories or on paper, the poetic soul needs to seriously work hard to clothe the perfect content in an even more perfect poetic form.
On our website we can observe huge selection of electronic books for free. The registration in this electronic library isn’t required. Your e-library is always online with you. Reading ebooks on our website will help to be aware of bestsellers , without even leaving home.

What is poetry?

Reading books RomanceThe unity of form and content is what distinguishes poetry from other areas of creativity. However, this is precisely what titanic work implies.
Not every citizen can become a poet. If almost every one of us, at different times, under the influence of certain reasons or trends, was engaged in writing his thoughts, then it is unlikely that the vast majority will be able to admit to themselves that they are a poet.
Genre of poetry touches such strings in the human soul, the existence of which a person either didn’t suspect, or lowered them to the very bottom, intending to give them delight.

There are poets whose work, without exaggeration, belongs to the treasures of human thought and rightly is a world heritage. In our electronic library you will find a wide variety of poetry.
Opening a new collection of poems, the reader thus discovers a new world, a new thought, a new form. Rereading the classics, a person receives a magnificent aesthetic pleasure, which doesn’t disappear with the slamming of the book, but accompanies him for a very long time like a Muse. And it isn’t at all necessary to be a poet in order for the Muse to visit you. It is enough to pick up a volume, inside of which is Poetry. Be with us on our website.

1. When the Last Laugh is Silent

There is a way to be good again
Give up on all your thoughts
Normal words won't fit
They are keys in a rusty lock
Another scratch of your pen
Crumpled paper in the floor
Scream out my name
Slam the broken door

Nothing can be fixed
With your lips sewn shut
Bottle up those lies
Cover up the cuts
You know you have won
When the last laugh is silent

You can't reseal this letter
Your kiss to make it real
Fill it with your burden
Tell me how you feel
Cry out how I hurt you
Let me know I've done wrong
You hate my every breath
You love to hear this song

Nothing can be fixed
With your lips sewn shut
Bottle up those lies
Cover up the cuts
You know you have won
When the last laugh is silent

2. Darkness is all That Stands Between

Falling from the silhouette
The mask you wear appears
The epitome of our hearts
The summation of our fears
Grasping to the star filled sky
Hopeless attempts to weak
The feeling we are lost
Our very attempts to seek

Come to me oh sweet surrender
Let me sleep this very night
Tomorrow is a brand new day
Your smile comes with the light
Darkness is all that stands between
Our next kiss is worth the fight

Nothing at all can relate
To my yearning for your skin
The essence of your touch
My willingness to sin
I clasp my hand over my mouth
To hold in this scream
I need your hand in mine
I curse my mind to dream

Come to me oh sweet surrender
Let me sleep this very night
Tomorrow is a brand new day
Your smile comes with the light
Darkness is all that stands between
Our next kiss is worth the fight

Piercing eyes blue like the sea
Open lungs fill with air
Drowning deep within in my mind
Waking abruptly just isn’t fair

3. Stratosphere

Soft wind in the background
Makes your hair sway
Eyes locked onto me
Beg for me to stay
Open hands in the air
Call for my embrace
Your every plea is
Written on your face

Call to me
Make me hold you tight
Call to me
Tell me one more night
Ask me please
Love you past the fights
On your knees
Beg me in the light

I jump in the air
And close my eyes
Hoping that just once
I will miss the ground
Falling from the sky
Reality reappears
Still planted firmly
In the stratosphere

Call to me
Make me hold you tight
Call to me
Tell me one more night
Ask me please
Love you past the fights
On your knees
Beg me in the light

4. A Letter to a Lost Love

Hello my dear
Have you been waiting long?
For the sunrise
That doesn't belong
Was it wrong?
For me to assume
That last night
Was our impending doom

Extinguish the fiery sky
With the ice from your heart
Call me to your side
Your grief you impart
Tears that you cried
Were even empty at the start

Was it worth it?
For us to stay
Could we make it?
Even one more day
Past the smoke
We saw the end
We could only break
When you wanted to bend

Extinguish the fiery sky
With the ice from your heart
Call me to your side
Your grief you impart
Tears that you cried
Were even empty at the start

5. Jealousy

You call me on the phone
With the voice of a dove
Asking me a favor
To please try and love
Hollow feelings to relate
Why I took you in the end
Trying to mistake
Hate, as love to send

It’s not my fault
That you loved me
It’s not my fault
That you couldn’t see
That all we had
Was jealousy
And never did we
Have more to be

Would you love me if I changed?
Would you change if I loved you?
Such questions do define
Why I never did pursue
Your heart as my own
Such a childish desire
That we could wish
For love strong as fire

It’s not my fault
That you loved me
It’s not my fault
That you couldn’t see
That all we had
Was jealousy
And never did we
Have more to be

6. Take Flight

Could this be real?
The smell of your hair
Just within my grasp
It would only be fair
I try to reach out
But then my mind deems
I should savor this moment
Should it be only a dream?

Wake up
I want to scream
Take up
These broken wings
Take flight
Into the sky
Love me
Until we die

I find the courage
To touch your skin
A feeling that’s welcome
I think with a grin
I creep to a slumber
To look in your eyes
Sleeping like an angel
No sadness to disguise

Wake up
I want to scream
Take up
These broken wings
Take flight
Into the sky
Love me
Until we die

7. In Travesty or Treason

The way he looked at her
Seemed almost a threat
How someone so calm
Could be so offset
So unjustified
In travesty or treason
He searched and scrambled
For just one reason

I’m not the one who had a problem
You are the one with a complaint
Why must I change who I am
Just to make you feel like a saint

What are we fighting for?
Could it really be worth it?
The pain we will suffer
Is it worth such a hit?
Give up on pride
And embrace your want
Will you give me your love?
Or, me, will you only taunt?

I’m not the one who had a problem
You are the one with a complaint
Why must I change who I am
Just to make you feel like a saint

8. Midsummer's Night

A midsummer's night
Attempts to break
A pattern of sorrow
For your sake
Are you here?
Right here
Are you okay?
No fear

Fall away
I'm not worth the lie
Don't stray
You don't need to die
I'm not here
For you

One more falsehood
That we can see
Today is a gift
But tomorrows not free
Can you fly?
So far
Are you hurt?
No scar

A kiss in the shadows
is hardly the way
to show me you feel
the same every day
Am I right?
You know
I am right
So go...

9. Blind

I look at my watch
pacing in the door
waiting for a sign
that you are on your way
and I wake up
it was all just a dream
you were laying right there
asleep next to me

oh dear, am I so blind
to assume that you weren't mine?
oh dear, I am blind
so open up my eyes, kiss me, make me find you

restless I wander
outside our dark room
heading to the foyer
a picture frame gleams
with light from the moon
your smile is enhanced
my heart flies high
you've never had to try

oh dear, am I so blind
to assume that you weren't mine?
oh dear, I am blind
so open up my eyes, kiss me, make me find you

can we do it again?
a million times so
I can't believe it now
make me find you

10. Enjoy the wait

Its crucial to express my bias clearly
Opposing those who have heard me wrong
For what I have felt today is merely
A tiny cavity that's been here all along
Can I find any solace tonight before I rest my weary head?
Disparately in search of solutions, moonlit chaos in my bed

A friend told me how you laugh in my face
A daily endeavor that you must achieve
Hiding your malice with your eloquent lace
If you choose to give, prepare to receive
Why can you hide yourself from the world in which we live?
Unlike me, you will learn, the world will never forgive

I'm giving up on trying not to give up
You've worn me out down to my very core
My patience filling to the brim of the cup
No longer my angel, but forever a whore
I gave you every chance to become my everything in life
But yet you chose to run, causing our first and only strife

Fill me up on bread and wine
Treat me well tonight alone
Drop me off and I'll be fine
Enjoy the wait with your phone

11. Our World

In my own little world
The creatures prance with glee
all that ever matters
is solely you and me
In my world
Oh why can't it always be that way?

hectic lives do make
everything so hard
an escape would be nice
our get out of jail free card
In my world
It would always be that way

and in the shadows we can find
nothing of the sort
of scary men and villains
no bad things to thwart
In our world
all things go our way

do you see the problem
that this alternative does solve
something oh so easy
why can we just absolve
In our world
we'll escape their every day

12. Stories of the Past

I sat down today hoping that you would stay
When in my note I realized halfway through
That if you cannot handle us then I guess that's a plus
Because darling, you haven't been true
I saw you on the docks that day and oh I tried to look away
But nothing could have turned my eyes from it
And he grabbed you and you kicked and screamed but you weren't mad you only seemed
Like you were happier then and just it didn't fit

Like a treasure chest in the sand you want so bad to hold my hand
And I pull away with my heart of frost
You dig and dig til your hands are blue and search the ground through and through
Even though you know that I am lost

Stories of the past are too unreal to last
Reminders of better days that you never get back
With people in there stupid ways racing through their busy days
Ask me one more time and that is that
Another day just passes by and I bet you still try and lie
And say you never loved and lost your way
And if you try really bad you can probably hide that you're sad
But you still cry alone every day

Like a treasure chest in the sand you want so bad to hold my hand
And I pull away with my heart of frost
You dig and dig til your hands are blue and search the ground through and through
Even though you know that
