One of the ancients, once said that poetry is "the mirror of the perfect soul." Instead of simply writing down travel notes or, not really thinking about the consequences, expressing your thoughts, memories or on paper, the poetic soul needs to seriously work hard to clothe the perfect content in an even more perfect poetic form.
On our website we can observe huge selection of electronic books for free. The registration in this electronic library isn’t required. Your e-library is always online with you. Reading ebooks on our website will help to be aware of bestsellers , without even leaving home.

What is poetry?

Reading books RomanceThe unity of form and content is what distinguishes poetry from other areas of creativity. However, this is precisely what titanic work implies.
Not every citizen can become a poet. If almost every one of us, at different times, under the influence of certain reasons or trends, was engaged in writing his thoughts, then it is unlikely that the vast majority will be able to admit to themselves that they are a poet.
Genre of poetry touches such strings in the human soul, the existence of which a person either didn’t suspect, or lowered them to the very bottom, intending to give them delight.

There are poets whose work, without exaggeration, belongs to the treasures of human thought and rightly is a world heritage. In our electronic library you will find a wide variety of poetry.
Opening a new collection of poems, the reader thus discovers a new world, a new thought, a new form. Rereading the classics, a person receives a magnificent aesthetic pleasure, which doesn’t disappear with the slamming of the book, but accompanies him for a very long time like a Muse. And it isn’t at all necessary to be a poet in order for the Muse to visit you. It is enough to pick up a volume, inside of which is Poetry. Be with us on our website.

Beauty

I see you every time I dream
Not just you, but us,
And how we make the perfect team.
I can't seem to identify why
My eye always finds a way to you
Even when I wish I could deny
That I wish that I could see you.
---
I suppose the choice just isn't mine.
You've come back and I wish I wouldn't pine
For you to be here my dear
But that just can't happen
When every time I see you in my dreams
It seems my mind just hasn't forgotten
The way you spoiled me rotten
With love and happiness unparalleled till today
And I've still never even heard you say
A word to make me think otherwise
And why the wise would advise
That I simply avoid your eyes.
---
But I suppose I'm just not very wise
Because once I see you in my dreams
I know I've lost what it seems
Is the battle between Heaven and Hell
And all I want to yell is
"I miss you dear!"
But you see I can't
No, I won't.
I'm so convinced I've won when I hear,
"Dear I miss you!"
That I lose my composure
And I allow this exposure
Of my heart and the part
Of me that sees you every night
When we're apart and I'm
Frozen with the fright
That you might not see me with you in the night.
---
Your beauty freezes me.
Your brutality burns me.
---
Just the thought of you transforms me
Into something I can't quite explain
I can't refrain from thinking of the pain
But at the same time that you're my bane
Every second without you is spent in vain
Because life just isn't quite the same
It all seems too lame, too tame
Without you to keep me insane
But here you are again to wane
Upon my heart, mind, and dreams
A fine line there seems
To be between beauty and brutality.

Dead Man Walking

"I love you."
Words I've heard before,
But today I think they have a new allure.
Yes, they sound different, somehow strange
Coming from someone life you.
---
Before my eyes I see my past,
Everything, every task that has come to pass since
With women and friends I've spent my time,
Every smile and frown that's exploded on my countenance
I remember them all so vividly in a flash,
A sparkle in my eye, a mish-mash of flavor on my tongue,
Every beat I've skipped and every foot I've turbulently tripped over
To get to where I am today.
---
Now I'm skipping a beat again,
And if walking to you feels like walking on hot, burning glass,
Than I'll just wear thicker boots or blind myself with pain.
In an instant you've studied every inch of my brow,
And I've seen everything I've ever seen twice now.
I'm looking around, up and down, biting my lip and holding my tongue
They say you see your whole life again just before you're dead and gone.
"I love you too."

Everyone Has a Weakness

I'm running running running
Running long; running hard.
Up ahead I see a gate, and now I'm on my guard.
I've been running long. I've been running hard,
So I try to burst on through,
But so suddenly did my legs lock,
That my body rocked with the shock,
And I sank to my knees in supplication.
My hands and eyes are glued to the pavement
As I try to move them but it's a long and hard achievement
I'm breathing heavy, if you can even call it breathing at all
It's more like heaving or wheezing.
Frigid and frustrated my face is furious with this fall.
I'd rather not be heaving, but I look up believing
That there's a sign above this accursed gate
That laughs and spits at my fate.
Yes I think I see...four letters dedicated to me.
L...I think but I can't see well.
O...Yes yes that one I know.
V...No this can't be...
E...Yes, now it's clear to me.
No one's guard is tough enough
To stand up to something so rough.

I've Heard This All Before

A real man
Forgives a woman for her lies,
But that doesn't mean I trust you.
As soon as I do you'll let the pain ensue.
Not till I know you're true can we pay love it's due.
---
I saw your smile for what it was; sinister.
You blessed the devil you menacing minister.
Malicious maid I felt your might.
Mistress mercy please spare me your bite.
---
I wonder what you mean this time.
Are your feelings genuine?
Or will you drop me on the dime?
We can make them envious, even the divine.
Choose wisely woman for I will not wallow with weeping again.

Send Her Quick

The harlot's touch knots
The hair on my back.
The gnarled heart rots
With the compassion that you lack.
---
The harlot's beauty, at first,
Is enough to quench my thirst
For both lust and, for the worst,
Love, but now I see all of her's rehearsed.
---
A look and I would sigh.
A touch and I would fly.
A kiss and our hearts I would forever tie.
A touch and I cry.
A look and I die.
---
A word, and I know you lie.
---
Who knows the damage she's caused?
How many hearts more than mine
Has she dined with a side of wine?
See here now I lie limp with life left paused?
---
Send her quick.
Send her fast.
Send her before her next trick.
Send her from this despicable past.
Send her now to defend use from her cunnery.
Send her quick to a nunnery.

Waiting

I've seen this face before.
Somehow somewhere.
Was it in a lady's stare?
Or in her "loving" young man's jealous glare?
Was it in the mirror looking for more?
---
Is it murder
To kill something that is already dead?
I never want to see those tears that you've shed.
I don't recognize that face in the mirror
Because I meant what I said to you
On those nights when we forgot about all the rest.
On each of those nights
We were at our best.
---
I know I've seen this before.
It looks so familiar
Yet so peculiar.
Could it be similar
To a face waiting for more?
But how can I get more when
Everything you have is for him?
---
I still can't recognize that face in the mirror
I don't recognize it in your eyes
Not even in my heart
Because it's not a whole, just a part
So I can't begin nor start
To see if there's been an error.
No, I know this is what I'll wait for Forever.
