Do you hear them crying?
Do you hear them screaming?
They weep and yell in my ear
Is it just this terrible storm I hear?
Or is it them, the souls in the ground?
The ones you cannot see even when they are around
The ones who are full of anger and fear
The ones who are sad and never thought to be dear
Do you hear them crying in shame?
Do you hear them screaming in pain?

Do you hear them whispering?
Do you hear them talking?
They talk softly and loudly in my ear
Is it just the people I hear?
Or is it them, the souls left on earth?
The ones you cannot see even after death
The ones who are full of yearning and frustration
The ones who are trying to talk and never thought to be taken
Do you hear them whispering in secrecy?
Do you hear them talking bouncily?

Do you hear them questioning?
Do you hear them asking?
They whimper and ask questions in my ear
Is it just the Children I hear?
Or is it them, the souls taken to heaven's hearth
The ones you cannot see because the were never even birthed
The ones who are full of questions and no answers
The ones who are trying to figure out why they never mattered
Do you hear them questioning shyly?
Do you hear them asking why?
Do you hear them
Because I hear them
