I Lie

Sometimes I lie,
don’t tell the truth,
make stories up,
out of the blue.
I tell you things
I do not mean
or never meant
to say to you.
Lightheartedly
I speak them out,
I twist and turn
the words before.
And I can’t help it,
love of mine,
the lies keep pouring
more and more.
But there’s one thing
that you must know:
some words
I said were true.
And I believe
you’ve guessed by now,
the words I mean
are ‘I love you’.
