I am a fallen angel
Who lost hope for the sky
Came screaming down through fire and ice
Believing i would die
Awakened in pools of blood
My body cold and numb
But twisting to look behind my back
I saw my wings had gone
I stumbled round forever
So lost and so afraid
Until one day i simply fell
To the slow end I made.
But then you came before me
And saw my wretched self
you could have left me there to rot
But nursed me back to health
You never left my side
Always stayed to talk and smile
If you knew what that was to me
You'd see that i am vile
I began to laugh with you
To tell you of my past
You filled my empty chasm
Which no longer seemed so vast
You took me to the outside
So I never felt alone
You stopped me jumping off the bridge
To soar back to my home
You made me fully human
You kissed me in the rain
Holding my hand for evermore
Making me whole again.
I may have lost my wings for spite
I may deserve to die
But just as long as you're with me
I know I'll always be able to fly.
