I hear the distant thunder
Strange the sound of a storm
It leaves no room to wonder
If dark clouds will soon be born

But storms of life are different
They can catch you by surprise
Turn a day full of laughter
Into nights of pain and cries

Like a storm they're harsh and cold
And the damage can be great
It's hard to stand again and fill your role
When your heart feels about to break

But like the storms, This will pass
Although it may leave it's mark
Stay in the shelter of the Lord
And you'll find your light in the dark
