Word’s come so easily to you,
like water rushing downstream.
They are jumbled in my brain,
I fight to get them out.
Mine are simple and to the point.

Your words can melt my heart and
make me your slave.
My words seem dry and lifeless.
You can bring a garden of fragrance
and beauty to my eyes.

Please pour your words down over me.
Let me feel the love you see in words.


The Fall

The seasons were changing,
the kids were back at school.
Sweaters and coats were now the rule.
The leaves had fallen everywhere.
The ground was painted with colors so bold.
Leaves of crimson, orange, and yellow so gold.
Trees stood so naked, so bare.
The weekend would come and so would our chores.
Clean our rooms and rake the yard.
I thought at the time I had it so hard.


Simple Times
It did not matter if it was cold and grey,
I was young and wanted to play.
Things look different through the eyes of a child;
Boxes and wheels and pieces of wood.
Our imagination unleashed our thoughts gone wild.
It looked spectacular, a castle a home
A place all of our own.

Cozy inside with blankets and food.
Enough things within to busy this brood...
Those are the days I choose to remember, the good times
The days I spent through rain or shine.
