Ruins
It started out like a dream
Nothing felt quite real
And then it changed
When I came back
To reality
Finding my true love was hard
And I didn’t like the walk
But when I came
To the end of the road
You were waiting there
For three long years
We shared so much
Tears, laughs, stares
I thought you were my perfect one
Guess I was wrong
I didn’t know
Whose fault it was
But I willingly took the blame
And now I wish I hadn’t
Taken what wasn’t
Rightfully mine
You never loved me
I know that now
Too bad I didn’t know before
If I did would have
Walked right out the door
I didn't know
What else to do
To make me
Stop from loving
You
You tried to leave
I tried to go
Guess I figured
We'd never let go
I know I don’t miss you
You don’t deserve
My sympathy
But now I know
You are my own worst enemy.
You built it up
You broke it down
I didn’t know what to do
How was I supposed to know
When my heart broke in two?
Looking back
Is when I see
What we never became
I’m glad you didn’t get that far
Into your stupid game
So self-centered
I should have known
From our very first date
But I was too busy
Falling in love
With someone I should hate
You left my life
In ruins
You didn’t say goodbye
And now I really want to know
Is there a reason why?
I just can't help but notice
How stupid you really are
To think that you could
Get away while trying
to steal my heart?

The unity of form and content is what distinguishes poetry from other areas of creativity. However, this is precisely what titanic work implies.
