"Rose, are you okay?" I put my hand over my now throbing eye. "get out," i mumbled. "come on rose it was an accident. im sorry" "get out!" i screamed at him. i went up to my room after he left. slamming the door behind me.
a few hours later my door opened. "i told you to get out," i had my back to the door. "i really dout that considering i just got back from visiting my dad in california" i rolled over to see justin standing in the doorway. his eyes widend "whoa what happend to ur eye?" he came and sat down next to me. "brandon," i mumbled. he shook his head. "i told you that dude has seriouse anger issues." i noded, "i know." his fingers lightly brushed the bruise. "ouch," he mumbled. "it doesnt really hurt anymore." he shook his head, "doesnt matter what he did was wrong."
i stood up. "dont." he grinned, "what?" i shook my head again. "i know what ur thinkin you are not going to fight him." his grin disapeared. "im not going to fight him. however if he starts it, then it may turn into a fight, but i just want to talk to the guy. he needs to understand that if he does this again he will be talking to me." i shook my head, "your gonna get urself killed one of theese days" he grined, "ill take those chances."
justin has been my friend since third grade. we hung out all the time. then his parents got divorced and his dad moved to california. he went to his dads three times a year for a month. during one of those months i met brandon. we became a thing. i still hung out with justin but at least once he would say something about brandon. brandon wasnt so happy about justin either but it was two of my favorite people so i wasnt going to give one up. until today, when brandon decided to get mad because i wouldnt go to a party with him. this lead to arguing and then the black eye.
i woke up the next day to find justin outside my house. "what on earth do you think your doing your going to fall and hurt urself." he was in the tree by my window nocking on the glass. "relaxe im fine, just let me in." i unlocked the window. "you know you couldve just came in through the front door like a normal person." he laughed "that wouldnt be very fun now would it." i rolled my eyes. "aw come on you gotta love me. without me you would die of bordom" i nodded "i guess." he laughed, "lets go"
"where are we going?" he pulled me out of the house and in the car. "somewhere," he shut the door. "you know i hate surprises." i crossed my arms over my chest. "well if you hate this ill never surprise you again." he turned into a gravel road. "fine," i mumbled. we stopped, "well i officially hate this lets go." he laughed, "were not there yet come on."
we walked up the hill into the forest. "is this really smart. going into the woods when most of the town is asleep." he grinned, "why scared much?" "no but if you get hurt im leaving ur but here." he nodded, "fair enough."
we walkded a few more yards. "im about to hate this place before i see it." he laughed, "just wait were almost there." he turned around, "you can stop complaining now." i let out a breath, "good, where are we?" he grinned, "a place." he led me over by a tree. "what are we doing?" he stood in front of me. "close your eyes and stay right here." i did as told. "you are a strange boy you know that." he laughed, "ya i know." his voice was farther away now. "what are you doing. this is rediculus." he laughed again. "open your eyes." i did. "where are you?" i looked up to find him in the tree. "your insane, your gonna fall and im not helping when you break something." he laughed coming down to the last branch. "come on." he reached out a hand. i shook my head, "your crazy."
"come on give me your hand." i shook my head. "your not going to fall." i stood there. "please?" he grinned, "just a few feet above the ground wont hurt." i took his hand and he pulled me up. "there much better right." i laughed, "okay." he climbed another branch "coming?" "your crazy." i hesitated but followed. "hey look there your about fifteen feet up and not dead yet." i laughed, "ya well this is as high as im going." i sat down on the branch leaning agains the tree. "so?" he sat down next to me. "so what?" i asked. "do you hate this."
"um . . .no but if i fall. ya your dead." he laughed, "you realize that youll also have to climb down eventually." i nodded, "eventually i will." he laughed, "okay then." we sat there talking for a few hours. "so my dad is moving closer here so i can visit more often." he explained. "thats awesome." he nodded looking at his phone. "we should probably go its only a little bit before before dark." i nodded, "okay." i stood up slowly. he got down a branch. "coming?" i nodded but stood still. "come on one step at a time you wont fall.?" i stood still, "i . . .im fine." he laughed stepping back up. "you are safe you will not fall i promise." i bit my lip, "i dont know. i just . . .maybe-" he put his lips to mine.
Pulling away he asked, "do you trust me?" he looked into my eyes. i nodded, "then listen. i wont let you fall." he took a step down and held his hand out. i hesitated, "rose i promise you wont fall." i took his hand. "there you go." he continued down helping me. we got down to the ground. "there, better?" i nodded "very." he grinned, "good, because we have alot of walking to do." he put an arm around me and we started walking.
