It was just a normal Friday night I was just getting home from a basketball game, and dropping off one of my friends when the accident happened.
“Hey dad I am just calling you to let you know that I am dropping off Gwen and then I’ll be home.”
“Okay I’ll see you at home”
“Alright then bye!”
“Bye sweetheart.”
Once I had dropped off Gwen I decided I would take the church road home considering it would be a lot easier due to the fact if I took the lake road home I would have to go all the way around town. And I just wanted to get home and crawl into bed.
Once I started driving I looked down for just a moment to turn the radio on when I looked up and there was a deer on the side of the road ,and of course lucky for me I wasn’t going fast enough that I was able to stop the car. Once the deer had passed I got onto the main road and started to drive home. I don’t remember much of what happened but all I do know is that one moment there was no headlights and the next I was being lifted into an ambulance and driving to Bismarck.
“What’s happening? Why am I in an ambulance and not at home?”
“Because sweetheart you where in an accident,” replied one of the ambulance people.
“With who, and are they alright? My dad is so totally going to kill me!”
That was the last thing I remember saying before I blacked out.
Three weeks later I woke up in a hospital that I didn’t recognize.
“Where am I?”
“Honey you are in Minnesota” replied my dad.
“Why what happened,” I asked not remembering what happened.
“Well sweetie there was a car accident and you were hit head on”
“Wait what you mean there was a car accident. I don’t remember there being one.”
“Well umm you see Gwen’s brother Jacob was drunk and he was driving at least 85 with no headlights and he didn’t see you.”
“Oh god is he alright,” I asked concern written all over my face.
“Yes he is and actually he is here to talk to you.”
“Umm okay send him on in.”
“Okay just let me go get him and the nurse.”
“Wait dad how long have I been here?”
“Three weeks,” he replied with sadness.
OMG I thought I have been out for three weeks this is so not good. Coach is going to so totally kill me the big game was two weeks ago.
“Wait dad,” I shouted, “How was the game?”
“There was no game they canceled it because of your accident.”
“Why, I am no one special to the team. I am just Eva the girl who sits on the bench.”
“Yea but you are also the one they count on to cheer them up if they are in trouble.”
I thought about that for a few moments. Sure I give them cheers in the locker room but doesn’t everyone else in the crowd cheer them up to.

A couple of hours later while I was sitting in my room I was still trying to process what had happened in my room moments after I had woken up. Once my dad walked out of the room to get Jake so I could talk to him a doctor walked in and started talking to me.
“Evangeline I am so sorry to tell you this, but when you were in the accident you broke both of your legs. You also received many injuries to your head and arms which in this case you may not be able to walk or even sit up on your own for a couple of weeks.”
“I what,” I screeched “I won’t be able to walk for a for a for a…. WHAT!” I started to ball and when the doctor tried to calm me down I tried to punch him.
“Dad I want my dad!”
My dad came sprinting in with a worried look on his face. “What is wrong sweetheart?”
“Tell this doctor that what he is saying is so not true!”
“Sweetie I know this is a lot to take in but it will go by faster than you think.”
“Dad are you serious I won’t be able to finish up my basketball season!”
“I know I know but just think positive on the fact that its only a few weeks where as it could have been the rest of your life.”
I didn’t want to hear anymore so I just ignored him and eventually fell asleep after getting bored to death.

And that is how I ended up here staring at the wall bored to death.

I still could not believe that i was sitting here when i could be at school shooting hoops or something but now i couldn't because i was screwed over by Gwen brother Jacob or Jake as we all call hime. Sure i love him and all but sometimes he was just plain stupid i mean like seriously what was he thinking! Oh well i couldn't dwell on that fact i am a stong girl so this is going to be over quicker than the doctors think it will be.

It has been three months since I had heard the news and guess what i was already doing PT! So that is a good sign right? WRONG it hurt like a mother fo if you know what i mean. I wasn't walking yet but i will be soon if everything keeps on going the way it has been.


I know i havent updated in a while and i am sorry its just well i lost a little girl that was very important to me and i still can't believe she i gone and i just haven't felt like doing much i still miss her so much sorry i hope you guys like the story so far i know its not much but it is a start
