Chapter 1

"I don't understand why you are mad!"

"What?! I'm not mad," I say to him as I curse him out in my head of course. Why would I be mad, it's not like you stood me up or anything.....oh wait, you did.

"Oh, well you seem mad. But I had a really rough night, the Lord really dealt with me. I've been dealing with a lot..." Eli continues on, making little to no sense at all about his day. All I'm pretty much hearing is, excuse...blah...blah...blah...feel bad for me...blah...blah...blah...are you there?..blah...blah...blah. I tune back in.

"Yea I'm here," like I always am Eli, waiting on you. "Well I have a word for you." Stop. Hold the phone. I look up to the ceiling and immediately have a one on one with God. Look God, whatever you have to tell me, do not send it through him. I won't listen. I can hear Eli mumbling something as I plead with God not to send this message through him.

"What your mother is doing to you is not right."

"Huh?"

"God wants you to know that the way she treats you is not right." God I told you not to send anything through him. "Well, I'm getting tired. You should probably get some sleep too. Good night."

"Night Eli." Click.

Typical jackass, typical Eli. It's always on his time. What he wants. Then goodbye Eli, for the night or maybe for a few days if you're lucky. Months if you're not. Not only has he stood me up on Valentine's Night, but he waits til 2:00 AM the next morning to call me. Just to re-open and make deeper a wound that has been with me for practically my entire life.
