Prologue

Prologue

“Denna!” I hear an eerie and echoed voice calling my name, I groan and try to push it away. “Denna! Come back!” I hear again, another groan and attempt at pushing back the voice trying to wake me from my slumber. “Denna come home!” I hear now and I finally open my eyes ready to take a blow torch to whoever woke me up. Except when I wake up I’m not in my cozy Eighteen century home that my new Step Father bought for me, my mother and step sister.
Instead I’m sitting in a giant glass box, no doors, nothing but you’re average bedroom essentials with a twist. The dresser sitting in the corner of the room is made of un-sanded wood that looks like the knots in the wood have been on fire at some point in time. It’s disturbing yet elegant in its own charcoaled way, the bed that I’m lying on has four posts and the top of each post has the same look as the dresser. The tops that on a “Normal” bed are rounded elegantly with detailed carvings in them, this bed however has charcoal black tops as if they too; have been burned, between the two foot board posts, the wood that holds the head board together, is an intricate mess of woven wood pieces that appear to be drift wood. The oddly placed mirror in the center of the room has a metal frame around it that almost appears to be glowing red, to the left of my bed is a large orange red colored sofa, the wood on this also looks to have been burned in some places.
I take a step out of the bed and glance at the glass walls again, this time noting the miles of jungle looking trees and shrubs outside, normally you’d see monkey’s and colorful bird’s flitting about outside, at least Nat Geo says as much. These tree’s however are sparse with any furry creatures, all that is visible are glowing spots of various sizes hidden deep within the leaves. The tree’s almost appear to be on fire in those places, every few moments one will move, I focus on one in particular that is moving quite a bit, finally it moves from the tree and flies to the other exposing to me that’s it’s actually a bird, much the same as a Macaw only this bird is intricate shades of red, orange and green, it’s wing tips look as if their on fire.
I take another step towards the wall. SPLASH! I surface the water and gasp for air flailing for the edge of the floor. Suddenly I hear a man’s laughter to my right, I glance over and see a man about my age, tall, six foot five, maybe? Vivid green eyes and a hair cut that can only be described as a long military cut, hair slightly spiked up at the front.
“If you’re so keen on swimming you could have just gone down to the Pools.” He replies. “Who in god’s green earth are you?!” I growl as he gives me a hand out of the water, I try to grab for a ledge but his well muscled body lifts me out easily enough. Once I’m on solid, less watery ground I notice exactly how muscled he is, no shirt only a pair of pants. His stomach muscles are well defined into an six pack his broad chest looks just as firm as his stomach does, his arm muscles are thick as well.
“Forgive me princess Denna, I am Prince Daniel.” He says giving a polite bow. “Wonderful, prince, mind telling me where I am?” I grumble looking around for my back pack that has clothes in it…..
